Well, I mean Telltale did express an interest in the licence, and if they got it I would be really happy because I find their method of gameplay very interesting and involving. However, for the record I wouldn't mind the third person outing either. I think Ubisoft would be decent. I'd rather Bond was more Assassin's Creed (in terms of movement and action, obviously tailored for modern firearms) than Call of Duty. What the higher ups, for some strange reason (god only knows what), think what we want from a Bond game. I just wish they'd listen. Browse these threads. Get some ideas. Make an effort with it. Not just rush it out to coincide with the latest film. Bond has event quality. Having a truly stunning Bond game every other year a film isn't released could make the wait for easier. Gaming is a much more bigger medium now. Bond needs to get back in the game.

I hate looking at teletall games why are they always the same click thing *Bangs Head on desk*

They're like that because it's a point and click game. Telltale have questionable graphics but at the core they have brilliant character development, and very interesting character outcomes. They introduce you to some fascinating and insightful characters and rely a lot on creating atmosphere through artwork and ambiance. (The Wolf Among Us being a great example). Plus, the action sequences are incredibly interactive and are tackled in such a way that it feels compelling and cinematic.
I can completely understand people who find the graphics a bit weird. I'm sure XBOX ONE / PS4 perform much better than my 360 though. So clunkiness hopefully won't be an issue once I move up to next gen. I can see past the 'bad graphics' though, the artwork is stunning.
I love their episodic structure as well, each episode can last around 2/3 which is a satisfying play through for me. Hell they could even adapt the novels. 5 or 6 episodes a book. That would be different. Bond can investigate, actually escape traps and choose to be a smoking, drinking douche or a suave debonair gentleman. Plus, since the games have a largely adult following they don't hold back with violence. They could go total Fleming Bond. That's a prospect that greatly excites me.

Honestly, I loved the graphics in The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. The cel-shading worked well in the context of each game and I have every confidence that if they were to craft a Bond game, their vision for the visuals would work. When it comes to a Bond game, for me, the most important thing is story. If telltale can craft a great Bond story (like they have with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Wolf Among Us, Back to the Future) I'd be onboard. There is no reason that Bond needs to be a mindless killing machine like he is in every Bond game (Goldeneye 007 (1997), Everything or Nothing and Blood Stone included).

I think we'd all LOVE another 'Blood Stone' or something better, but I just don't think we're going to get it.
I mean, they cocked up the 50th Anniversary with a game as bad as '007 Legends' that just made Bond feel tacky and cheap.
They need to re-boot the gaming licence for Bond DRASTICALLY and treat '007 Legends' like 'Die Another Day', because Bond games are now pretty much laughed at and not really anything of worth in a market dominated by huge franchises and games like 'Assassins Creed', 'Forza', 'Call Of Duty', 'Arkham'....to name a few.

Let's just pretend that 007 Legends never happened. As long as Call of Duty continues to rack up money, we'll never get the Bond game we deserve. I'm holding out hope that a studio like Rocksteady or Naughty Dog are able to get their hands on the Bond license.

For the bond 50 years they should've made a huge bond game .. I always thought they could go far with a bond game starting from different missions . I mean the player could choose from selection of missions , at the end he could complete them all but then it will be a long game which is a problem in bond games .. Lets say 3 different missions each of them have 10-15 levels . 007 legend was cheap COD clone game .. Its really shame for bond history and bond fans .. Now 3 years and no news :(

'007 Legends' was no way a "teen COD" - it was a repetitive, un-detailed, un-imaginative and a cheap way to milk a franchise and capitalise on fans in a big anniversary year. Pretty much a slap in the face to real fans of the films and quality gaming.
It may be a "cheap COD clone" for sure, but no way something that was substituted for teenagers in lieu of COD, because they would just laugh in the face of such a poor game when they play it alongside any COD game.

Everytime I think about 007 Legends, I just want to break something. It was exactly what you said: a repetitive, un-imaginative and cheap way to milk a franchise and capitalize on fans. Especially with the odd choice of films. It was so bad, they couldn't even get the current Bond actor to voice Bond in it. F*** you, Activision. F*** you.

It didn't even flow as a linear game.
And the 'Skyfall' add-on? Please. That was just an insult to the film itself. So M calls Bond back to MI6 after dispatching Patrice? Oh, ok then - movie over. Thanks Activision.

And Bond immediately forgives her. Oh hey, it's not like I got shot and fell 300 feet into a strong current because of your idiocy. That wasn't Skyfall.

If it's Ubisoft, then I want something along the lines of Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell (the earlier games). A crucial, espionage thriller game with Bond, whether it's in third person or first person. I would love a Bond game that's more akin to those, where every second and choice counts. It could be well done.
If it's EA, then I doubt it'll be anything worth writing home about, as I feel it'll be more akin to the Activision era. Then again a Bond game on Frostbite 3 does sound beautiful. Who knows. I doubt we'll be getting a Bond game anytime soon, and I'm fine with that.

I could see it. I also agree that we won't be getting a Bond game for quite awhile. Even if someone does have the license, I doubt there's a game in development. For whatever reason, maybe it's the quality of most of the games, the Bond games only seem to appeal to Bond fans.

If there was a game, then either it's been in development for some time, or is just getting there (a la Quantum Of Solace). Still very much unlikely we'll be getting a game soon, especially when you take in the terrible reception that the last Bond game (the one we shall never speak of). I'm a die-hard Bond fan and a die-hard gamer, and I also happen to be the only one of my friends to have all of the Bond games and to play them. Everyone knows James Bond, but to the casual gamer nine times out of ten they'll always choose Call Of Duty over a Bond game. Quality aside, that's just how it is. Bond games need to be treated like the films are, very seriously and crafted extremely well. Activision started well with the QOS/CR game and the criminally underrated Blood Stone, but because of lackluster sales and reception, pretty much drove the license into the ground.

Completely agree. When a Bond game is so terrible that it actually causes it's most devoted fans to stop playing it...
That's really bad. From Russia With Love was probably the last Bond game that really felt like it had genuine effort put into it. Not saying it's great but the set design was beautiful and it was a solid playthrough. Connery came back and it felt like you were in the 60's. Ever since EA lost the Bond licence, all Bond games have been is rushed out for money and it's pathetic and insulting. Bloodstone was probably the only exception, and even that was botched up by the poor marketing. Not one advertisement anywhere. The first Bond game that could've given the series an overhaul and they just put it out just hoping it will sell? No one's hardly heard of it. Then there's the really bad soundtrack and annoying trumpets going off all over the place everytime Bond did something worthy of the Bond Theme (which they never used until the end because Bond is just not Bond yet! Please.) Everything else is basically a Call of Duty rip off. They're appealing to the completely wrong fanbase. James Bond isn't just about going around shooting people. I can't believe they gave us 007 Legends for the 50th Anniversary. Granted, the IDEA of going through Bonds past missions is cool and meeting those classic characters. Brilliant concept. It was just handled incredibly poorly. It had no overarching narrative. It just ended. The boss fighting system was frankly one of the things that I'd just never want to experience again. 50 Years. Put in some god damn effort. Then came the Skyfall DLC, which I heard is pathetic. I haven't played it, but I've seen gameplay and I wanted to throw something off a wall. (Haven't played Die Another Day or Moonraker either, the boring Licence To Kill opening put the final nail in the coffin for me and I returned the game and got my money back.)
What Activision have done with Bond is disgusting.
They need a brand new developer. Hell, i'd even be happy with EA getting it back. Atleast then we'd have a fun game. If Nightfire, Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love are anything to go by. Ubisoft or Rockstar would be good. Anything. ANYTHING but first person shoot em up. I cannot stand anymore. I still stick by my choice of Telltale. I can see many other potential developers out there, but the Bond games are close to dead. They need to be done justice.
