It mustn't seem as if they're trying to slavishly recreate the success of Skyfall. An encore by Adele would be much more conspicuous than a second outing by Mendes. I'm afraid it would seem timid, or at least unimaginative.

Quite the opposite in fact.

What's the old saying? "If it ain't broke..."

They would be foolish to ignore the success of Adele's song. Why wouldn't you bring her back? 'Skyfall' was how a Bond song SHOULD sound. Big, loud, plenty of brass and a soulful voice from a fantastic singer. The lyrics weren't up to much but they never are.

Retaining Adele is a no-brainer. Muse will never get the gig.

Sorry, but I can't resist:

"You know that old expression, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'? Well, it doesn't work in the film business."

- Michael G. Wilson (source)

I seriously doubt that Adele will return for Bond 24.  There's never been a title song performer that returned for the next film, and for good reason.  The films need variety, and one way of accomplishing that is to bring in a new performer for each film.  They didn't bring Duran Duran back for another song after "A View to a Kill" went to the top of the charts, nor was McCartney brought back for another after garnering an Academy Award nomination for "Live and Let Die" in addition to peaking very high on the charts as well.  They very well may bring Adele back at some point in the future (I'm pretty certain that, at some point, she'll be back), but it most likely will not be for Bond 24.

Adele, Shirley Bassey or David Bowie (preferably with a song like TLD or AVTAK).

I am a huge Bowie fan.  He  is long overdue for a Bond.  Unfortunately, his time has probably passed.

http://www.dailyreco...t-james-1722825 Stereophonics: We want to record the next James Bond theme tune

THE Welsh rockers have been working with Bond composer David Arnold on
their latest album- now they're hoping they might get the call to work
on the next film.

THE Stereophonics are ready to follow their Welsh
countrymen Sir Tom Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey and record the Bond
theme tune.

The group, led by Kelly Jones, have a foot in the door
after working with Bond composer David Arnold – who has scored five of
the last six 007 films and co-written the theme tunes to Casino Royale
(You Know My Name by Chris Cornell) and The World is Not Enough (by
Garbage).

Arnold arranged the strings on the Stereophonics’ eighth
album Graffiti On The Train and Kelly said: “If we are called to do the
Bond tune I’ll be there. I think it would be good.

“When we
worked with David on the album, the members of the 36-piece
orchestra had worked on the soundtrack for every Bond film since Doctor
No.

“It was an incredible experience.”

After spending all day relistening to Linkin Park's entire discography (an excellent way to spend an afternoon), I am convinced they would be perfect for a Bond theme. I am changing my vote from Muse to Linkin Park.

Great news. I hope she mixes things up and gives a more belting tune next time.

I would have no problem with Adelle doing another.

I would love to see Duffy get a shot at one as I adore her voice and I think Ellie Goulding could do a great job as well if the production was right.

Leona Lewis also has a great voice and would fit right in with the classic ballad Bond sound and Beyonce or Kelly Clarkson both have great voices and could sell a ton worldwide.

I hope the producers stay away from contemporary bands tho; I loved the Duran and Aha songs at the time but I think they've both dated badly as have the Garbage and Madonna themes.

I'm not a fan of the overly bombastic Muse at all and I don't think their sound fits the modern Bond at all.

As for Linkin Park? the person who suggested that is joking surely?

Would love Bowie; don't see it happening.

Take this with a grain of salt.

There are rumors going around all over the web that Bond bosses are planning on having Adele sing the titles again for Bond 24. As we know, rumors come and go, but I can believe this one. According to one article, they are trying to make her sort of like the new Shirley Bassey for James Bond films.

The full article is here:

What do you all think of this rumor?

that is what i think it is, a rumor. Similar to all the rumors in the 90s of the Bond girl from the previous film returning for the next film, or casting Sean connery as the villain.

She is the top choice after winning the Oscar and the producer/Craig both will want her so she likely be back

I'm sure they would love to get her back. With that said, as others above have already relayed, it is entirely too early for this.

Granted that this was originally reported in The Sun, but I too am inclined to believe that this very well could be true..I would LOVE to have Adele back for Bond 24.

As everyone else has already said, it's way too early for this.  Regardless, hopefully it turns out to be untrue.  There are many other artists out there who can do a great title song, there's no need to repeat themselves in consecutive films.

Agreed. Maybe Adele for the first film of Bond 7, but not 2 in a row.

I have said this earlier, but now I'm going to say it louder: BOWIE... He always has been very suitable for Bond (and not only for the Bond theme, but as an actor too- let's don't forget that the character of Max Zorin was written with him in mind). And now with his successful comeback, after ten years of inactivity, nobody will do it better than the Thin White Duke.

If I were the producers, I'd give that genius a few millions to write the best Bond song that'd be remembered for years to come.
Adele's song was catchy and haunting, however, the extent to which Mr. Bowie can do better than Skyfall is unimaginably great. I'm talking about the refreshing songwriting witnessed in The Next Day, but even better.

I really hope this time we'll hear some cues of the title song in the soundtrack!

Agreed. One disappointing trend has been the absence of the theme tune from the OST albums of two out of the three Daniel Craig films. And as much as I enjoyed the Skyfall soundtrack, I'd have liked a few more interpolations of the Adele theme in it.

As for Adele doing the Bond 24 theme, I have no problem with that, any more than I have with any other suitable artiste recording the theme (Being an old fogey, none spring to mind at the moment!). Regarding back-to-back theme tunes, it's never been done before - but there was almost a precedent set with Thunderball when Shirley Bassey recorded "Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang". However, according to John Burlingame's "The Music Of James Bond", her version was  "good, but not great Bassey", and a decision was made not to use it at all - and in any event, Tom Jones' "Thunderball" was already lined up for the title track, so "KKBB" could only have been used over the end titles.

I'd like Adele to come back, her performance was great, but I think Bond 24 might be early. Maybe Bond 25. That said, if they officially announce her as the singer, I won't have any problem with that.

I'd like to see U2, They head up my list. I'm still disappointed they didn't actually perform Goldeneye.

Myles Kennedy is another favourite for me. His vocal skills are just amazing.

I bet Adele comes back again with the rest of the team - Mendes, Newman, Deakins, etc.
