Tis a difficult list to write but

1.Casino Royale(2006)***** (it had the brilliant script and style of OHMSS but also had a strong lead actor working in its favour)
2.Goldfinger *****
3.Die Another Day ****
4.Licence To Kill****
5.Goldeneye ****
6.On Her Majestys Secret Service **** (this would be higher, possible number 1, if it had a stronger actor playing Bond)
7.Live And Let Die ****
8.From Russia With Love ****
9.The World Is Not Enough ****
10.The Spy Who Loved me ****
11.For Your Eyes Only ****
12.Tomorrow Never Dies ***
13.The Living Daylights ***
14.Thunderball ***
15.Dr No ***
16.You Only Live twice ***
17.The Man With The Golden Gun ***
18.Moonraker ***
19.Diamonds Are Forever ***
20.A View To A Kill ***
21.Octopussy ** (i found this film to be dull, in fact the only elements i liked was Louis Jordan's Khamal Khan, was i thought was a brilliant villain desptie the lack of motive, and the character of Vijay)

The first category includes those ones, which in my opinion are the best. They don't have problems and it is always good to watch them.

1.Thunderball
2.Live and Let Die
3.You Only Live Twice
4.The Man With the Golden Gun
5.Moonraker
6.Diamonds Are Forever
7.Casino Royale '67
8.Dr No
9.From Russia With Love

The second category has those, which have some problems. This group has many different movies. The upper ones are really good ones with only a few problems, while the lower ones have more serious ones, but they are far better than the members of the two lower categories.

10.Goldeneye
11.Die Another Day
12.For Your Eyes Only
13.Casino Royale '06
14.A View to a Kill
15.Never Say Never Again
16.Tomorrow Never Dies

The third and smallest category includes those, which have serious faults, but are saved by something. Goldfinger is saved by Goldfinger and Oddjobb, The Spy Who... is saved by Roger Moore, Dayligths is saved by, well... probably by Barry's score.

17.The Living Daylights
18.The Spy Who Loved Me
19.Goldfinger

The last one containes the worst of Bond. Nothing more can be said about them. Well only the fact, that I find it funny, that I dislike those movies, which others find the best.

20.The World is Not Enough
21.On Her Majesty's Secret Service
22.Octopussy
23.Licence to Kill

Wow! It's that time of the year again. Time to post my list again, which remains relatively unchanged from last year. I guess the scariest thing is that I have "A View To A Kill" up to 14th on my list! :D It's actually grown on me a bit in recent years, though hopefully not much more than this! :P

Your top 5 pretty much matches mine as far as TLD, TB and FRWL are concerned. However, I'd replace FYEO and LTK with OHMSS and CR. I caught the last 1/3(often considered the "weakest" part) of TLD today on Spike and it hit me why I love this film so much. It's so well written, well-acted and intelligently done. TLD comes close to being my absolute favorite Bond film. Only the fact that TB and FRWL are closer to the actual period Ian Fleming lived and wrote in and reflect those sensibilities very well that keeps me from ranking TLD higher than I do. It also saddens me that Dalton was too young for OHMSS and too old for CR because both of those would be great films for his Bond.

Having just completed a nearly three week long marathon of the Bond films (and having kept a running ranking of the films which was updated after watching each film in order), I have to update my rankings. Needless to say, there was a major shakeup at the top of my list, which, honestly, surprised me.

1. Licence To Kill
2. From Russia With Love
3. The Living Daylights
4. Casino Royale
5. For Your Eyes Only
6. Dr. No
7. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
8. Octopussy
9. Thunderball
10. Live and Let Die
11. The Spy Who Loved Me
12. GoldenEye
13. A View To A Kill
14. Moonraker
15. Diamonds Are Forever
16. You Only Live Twice
17. Tomorrow Never Dies
18. Goldfinger
19. The World Is Not Enough
20. Die Another Day

I am first a fan of the novels, hence the dominance of the more serious films, but I do enjoy the overblown spectacle of the films, when it is done well

1. From Russia With Love
2. Casino Royale
3. The Living Daylights
4. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
5. Thunderball
6. The Spy Who Loved Me
7. You Only Live Twice
8. Licence To Kill

10. Goldfinger
11. For Your Eyes Only
12. Live and Let Die
13. GoldenEye
14. Octopussy
15. Moonraker
16. The World Is Not Enough
17. The Man With The Golden Gun
18. Tomorrow Never Dies

Well, a few things have been settled since I rewatched TND the other day:

1 From Russia With Love
2 Thunderball
3 Casino Royale
4 Dr. No*
5 On Her Majesty's Secret Service
6 Live and Let Die
7 Goldfinger
8 The Spy Who Loved Me
9 The Living Daylights
10 For Your Eyes Only
11 Moonraker
12 Octopussy
13 Goldeneye
14 Die Another Day
15 The Man with the Golden Gun
16 License to Kill
17 Diamonds are Forever
18 Tomorrow Never Dies
19 A View to a Kill
20 You Only Live Twice
21 The World is not Enough

*Dr. No probably gets a higher ranking than it deserves on its own accord. But

4. Goldfinger
5. From Russia With Love
6. The Spy Who Loved Me
7. Thunderball
8. Tomorrow Never Dies
9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
10. Live and Let Die
11. The World is Not Enough
12. The Living Daylights
13. You Only Live Twice
14. Moonraker
15. For Your Eyes Only
16. Licence To Kill
17. Die Another Day
18. The Man With The Golden Gun
19. A View To A Kill
20. Octopussy
21. Diamonds Are Forever

It's hard to differentiate between some of the Bond films. 17-21 are certainly my least favourite and 1-10 are my top 10. Whether they would stay in that order depends....

Casino Royale is certainly #1.
