Indeed, the big ones are so close now! Exciting!
If 'Skyfall' doesn't win at least 1 BAFTA and 1 Oscar, I'll delete my account from CBn! I'm very confident it will....I hope...!

Fantastic - the awards just keep on coming! Has this over-taken the awards for 'Casino Royale'?

It will get Best British Film of the Year, they will give Judi and Javier their awards etc. i think, SF will rule at the Baftas. Still angry over the DC snub. I suppose, he won't be tere either.

I am worried the BAFTA organisation will overlook James Bond, but a part of me is confident 'Skyfall' has done enough to take some some awards and prove us and the doubters wrong. Some strong technical and performance going on there, worthy of the award.
Nervous as it's a big haul with 8 nominations and I hope they bring back over half! Fingers crossed...

It's on BBC America at 8:00 and 11:00 Eastern time. Maybe not live but pretty good.

Having studied the nominations a bit more closely, I'd be amazed if SKYFALL won more than one or two awards, and we should probably be prepared for it leaving empty handed. Dench won't beat Anne Hathaway, and I can't see Bardem surpassing Christoph Waltz or Tommy Lee Jones.
Outside chance that they may ignore LES MISERABLES' nomination for best film, and give best British film to SKYFALL, but that would be fairly unusual.
Music is a strong category, which go any way, but I imagine one of the best film nominees is most likely to win that. Production design is probably a similar situation - with ANNA KARENINA also expected to do well.
I'd expect our best chances lie with cinematography and sound. Roger Deakins probably gets extra points for being British and a legend of cinematography, but Claudio Miranda has been the front runner for LIFE OF PI. If I had to pick one category which SKYFALL has a strong chance, it would be sound - as the movie is also top of several analysts' lists for the Oscars.
But even if there are no wins, eight nominations is something to be delighted with.

You're using my train of thought to - high expectations but the usual award fodder like 'Les Mis', 'Life of Pi' and 'Lincoln' are just made to snatch awards.
'Skyfall' does deserve but I worry it will be the usual case of the expected ones win...

Judi Dench will probably bag Skyfall a BAFTA, Deakins might scrape it too. And Production Design and Sound could happen.
But other than that i haven't got high hopes. As long as Skyfall wins Best Original Song and Cinematography at the Oscars, i'll be happy.
Also, what defines a 'British Film'? Is it just the nationality of the director?

Thomas Newman just won Best Music! I'm shocked - in the best way possible.
A hint at one, possibly two wins at the Oscars? I wish John Barry had won an Oscar for a Bond score and/or song, but I'm pleased for Adele (Golden Globe win) and Thomas Newman (BAFTA)

Bond movies had only previously won one Bafta from 42 nominations (cinematography for FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE), so to win two today is a great achievement.
