Still don't see why people must complain over the driving handling and the shooting mechanics, which are miles ahead of GTAIV's. Some people will never be happy with what's been given to them.

The shooting is too perfect. It makes the game too easy. So do the "special" moves. You can drive perfectly the entire game using Franklin's. It saps the game of it's difficulty. Having said that, GTAV is a helluva a game and easily my favorite entry since Vice City. It's not perfect, but really what is?

Just completed the story mode of 'Arkham City', and found it great fun. Looking forward now going back to do the side missions and stuff.
I actually pre-ordered 'Arkham Origins' lastnight also, which I've not done for any game in a couple of years now. But it was a bargain price to get it at, and I've really loved these games and how much fun they've made the Batman character and universe to play in.
Make sure to go back and play all the Combat Challenges and download the DLC "Penguin's Iceberg Challenge".
I really don't think you learn just how meticulously perfect and uniquely challenging the freeflow combat is in that game until you play the challenges after the story mode is over. The same goes for a lot of the Predator missions. While I love the story mode, it is a bit linear - these challenge maps allow you to really think and feel like Batman.

The shooting is TOO perfect if you use complex weapon targeting, but quite hard (not just for me, but for my friends) if you use simple, which is merely a dot, that is at time, barely visible to see. And even then, it still isn't too perfect, as I still find myself getting killed from time to time in firefights. As for the special abilities, I rarely use them, and the same goes for my friends. To say it "saps the game of its difficulty" is a bit asinine to say, and even more so to nitpick something like this, that isn't even an issue.

Why is it asinine to say that it saps the game of it's difficulty? I never found myself ever stuck in a place no matter how many guys were on me. All I did was pop in and out of cover head-shotting (is that even a word?) in sight. I definitely liked not being stuck in places, but come one I'd like at least a little challenge.

Well just because you thought the game wasn't difficult doesn't mean that it wasn't. I have yet to play it and some of the missions look like they could have some difficulty to them.

Exactly, and you are ABSOLUTELY right!

I mean I have no idea what I am talking about I haven't played the game. My boyfriend has it and I have been watching and there is this one mission where it looks like you have to hack something and he seemed to struggle with it.
Honestly I don't think anyone can really shake what I am feeling about this game. I can't wait to play it for myself and to have my hands on it.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from liking it. I gave the game a 9 out 10. A F***ING 9 OUT OF 10. I LIKED IT, A LOT. What I wrote in my review is my opinion, if you guys can't f***ing accept that then don't f***ing read it.

Oooookay, then...
Anyways, I really do want to play GTA V. Might get it with my next paycheck.

No. I wrote my opinion and all anyone has done is b*tch about it. You specifically said that all I was doing was nitpicking at things. So no, I will not come down.

I am sorry if I had upset you, I get that everyone has their own opinions, I was just saying that just because you found the game to be easy doesn't mean it's easy for others. That can be said with any game. My boyfriend makes fun of me because I thought Far Cry 3 was hard in the beginning while he thought it wasn't that difficult.
I am sorry if I have offended you in any way, you are entitled to your opinion on GTA V.

Iceskater, you don't need to apologise, nothing was said to offend - just difference of opinion which always seems to be the spark for arguments here for some reason.
I still haven't played GTA V - I think I want to wait until the price comes down a little. Besides, I've pre-ordered 'Arkham Origins' after the recent completion of 'Arkham City' and so that will tide me over until November/December I think...which COULD then help GTA V appear on the old Christmas list...!
It does look good though, but I've read some negative as well as more positive. I think if we love the previous games, this isn't going to dissapoint!
I look forward to having a go myself one day.

Well the Grand Theft Auto Online debacle seems to have killed a lot of the good vibe that GTAV had going for it. Unrelated, Beyond: Two Souls seems to be getting reviews that are literally all over the place. Interesting....

Exactly, One should not have to resort to language because of someone else's opinion and especially if it's a topic of debate (This being the topic of video game difficulties now, which seems to be a major factor people talk about regarding games now being too easy and such)
Surely I have my differences with others, but never will I resort to calling them, whether it is directly or indirectly, an expletive remark(s). It's unprofessional, unclassy, and just rude.
Respect one's opinion or don't.
Posted 10 October 2013 - 07:51 PM
I only apologize because I know I can be a little headstrong with my opinions and I know that sometimes when I debate I can be rude.
I am considering getting a Nintendo 3DS. I want something that's portable so I can game while I am at college but that won't take over my life.
Plus there are a lot of good games coming out for the 3DS soon.

I NEED a Nintendo 3DS so I can play Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Posted 11 October 2013 - 03:37 PM
Yeah right? Also there is this new Mario and Luigi Dream Team coming out and there was this new pacman game coming out and pokemon x and y. So I really want a 3DS for christmas this year.

It appears Rockstar Games is giving players that have/had experience(d) problems with Grand Theft Auto Online, $500,000.00 FREE.
I personally have experienced very minor issues, mainly on launch day, but this is generous by Rockstar.

It is what it is. My rage filled posts were more about all of the people here who don't respect other people's opinions. I had just had enough of it at that point. I won't apologize for what I said, but I will explain myself. I came to these forums because I wanted to discuss James Bond topics with people. However, a good portion of the time it seems people just argue instead of debate. I posted my thoughts on GTAV, a game I liked a lot by the way and am currently on my second playthrough of, and instead of getting discussion and debate I got lambasted for seemingly trying to "nitpick" and dissuade people from playing it. Which was not the case at all. I labeled what I thought were legitimate criticisms to provoke discussion and instead got blasted for it. I'd like to continue actually trying to have discussions with people here as there are people here that I genuinely like. However, I may not stick around if it continues like this.
PS- I will not discuss Grand Theft Auto V at all.

haha nice to see nothing has changed around here in my absence!
I recently got Pokemon X for my 3DS. Loving it! I hadn't played a Pokemon game since Gold/Silver so the leap in graphics and battle animations since then is astounding!
I just got past the first Gym Leader, caught a Pikachu and was given a Charmander. My squad is going to be pretty powerful.

Haven't really played anything, been busy with school, In the last two weeks, I've only played 2 days. I'll probably be back online playing like crazy when COD: Ghosts comes out. After I burn myself out on that, I'll probably go back to my sporadic online appearances

I was in your neck of the woods, actually. Drove through California. Loved it!
In two minds whether to get Ghosts. Battlefield 4 looks VERY good. I just hope the 1 player is better than the one in Battlefield 3.

Very unlikely BF4's campaign will be better. DICE themselves admitted that they aren't good at telling stories.

Which part did you drive through? Woodlands, PCH, etc. I'm in a small beach town, so I'm just wondering.
I played the beta for BF4, but it feels more or less the same. The controls have changed a bit, the game types are the same, and the layout is much different and complex, compared to BF3. Ghosts is introducing new modes and a new multiplayer customization overall and It looks good. Ghosts is probably going to be the first COD game where I don't jump straight into the campaign first.
Both are different games though. If you want simple, but fun and basic run 'n gun action, go with COD. If you want team based strategy, go with BF4, though it's better on Xbox One and PC, with up to 64 players online.

We did a road trip, started in San Fran, drove to Napa, then back down and joined the PCH, Monterey, Big Sur, Santa Barbara, LA. Some great sights, great weather, saw some nice Californian redwoods!
I will probably end up getting both BF4 and COD, that's what i did last time. They both offer something different.

Low scores early on for Batman: Arkham Origins. Interesting. Granted, Origins was not developed by Rocksteady Studios, but this will be interesting to watch.
