Lol I am not a Call of Duty fan so..................
I think this game looks really interesting it's called Soul Suspect. The premise is you play as a police officer named Ronan. He is murdered by someone and he comes back as a ghost trying to solve his own murder. It reminds me of L.A. Noire but with a supernatural twist because it's all about crime solving plus there are other elements as well. I posted the link down there and there is two videos explaining the game.

That's a game I've been keeping my eye on. It definitely looks interesting. However, I thought I remember hearing somewhere it may have been cancelled.

Gone Home - 2013 PC, Mac
Developer/Publisher: The Fullbright Company
Rating: 9.5/10
I'm not a huge PC gamer. The last new PC game I bought was probably Doom 3 in 2004. I've never played a game on my Mac. That's what my PS3 is for. However, I curiously came across a review for this game on IGN and was instantly hooked by it's premise. Based on reviews for it, I created a Steam account and bought the game for my Mac. I'll say I'm glad I did. This game is absolutely fantastic.
The game is set in early June of 1995. You play as Kaitlin Greenbriar who has just took an early flight home from Europe, where she's been travelling for the past year. Eager to see her family, she arrives home at 1:15 in the morning during a thunderstorm to find the house completely empty. All you are left with is a note on the door from your younger sister Sam saying she's left and not to worry. Over the span of the next roughly 2-3 hours, you search the house to find out just what exactly happened to your parents. The game doesn't tell a typical story for a video game. It is a poignant and personal story about a teenager struggling to make it through high school, while her parents are going through their own problems. You spend the majority of the time moving throughout the large house trying to piece together exactly what happened.
Let me start by saying this is NOT a horror game. However, the setting can feel eerie at times and the incredible soundtrack does a great job to give you a feeling of dread. I would equate it to being home alone. You know there's no one with you, but sometimes you still get that creepy feeling and find yourself reaching around the corner to flip on the light switch before entering a room. The rest of the atmosphere is excellent. The house really feels like an actual house where someone lives. The rooms are messy. TVs are left on. It's not like the Spencer Mansion where traps are deliberately set to kill you. Walking around the Greenbriar's house feels almost like walking around your own. That's where the beauty in Gone Home's story is. It's a personal story and not one seen in games. In fact, it's more likely a story most would write off as angsty-teenage garbage. But it's one that touches on sensitive subjects and can make you reflect on various aspects of your own life.
To say anymore, would ruin what is an unforgettable journey. While this may not be a game you would ever normally consider: you never carry a weapon, there are no skeletons in the closet (well, literal ones anyway) and there is no action. But if want a great experience and a touching story, then do yourself a favor and pick this one up. I assure you, you won't be disappointed. -- 9.5/10

I liked that they are FINALLY changing things up. Having said that, the game is a next-gen that looks decidedly....dated. It has nothing on Battlefield 4's visuals. The dynamic maps are not nearly as dynamic as Battlefields. Only certain areas can be interacted with and unless the right spot is hit, the desired effect will not be triggered. Then there's the subject of women. Now, I've been saying for years that Call of Duty was sexist in it's refusal to include women (I believe only 3 were ever in the entire series: Tanya from Finest Hour, Isabella from CoD3 and the pilot of the downed chopper in 4). But it was the assinine comments from Infinity Ward on why now they can include women: before they were unable to render them because women require more polygons. This is idiotic as Samus was killing space pirates in all her glorious 8-BITS in 1986. You even played as a woman in Call of Duty Finest Hour for the freaking Playstation 2! I'm just not getting the message with how Ghosts is doing anything better than any previous game in the series. I sincerely feel as if Call of Duty has reached it's tipping point and we are going to see it begin to fall off. This is evidenced by pre-orders being way down when compared to Black Ops II, which itself made more money than MW3, but sold less copies.
Now, granted this is my opinion and is in no way meant to detract you from yours, Ace.

I enjoyed it. The single player tells a much better story than CoD and one this is more personal for the soldiers. Outside of that though, it's basically Call of Duty. Graphically, it does look very good, though.

They're doing more than just changing things up. The multiplayer as a whole looks damn good and lots of fun. As for the graphics. Release is still 3 months away and Visuals can change, especially for the Xbox One version. The series isn't sexist for not including women is a bit asinine to say because it doesn't hinder on the performance or quality of the overall game and if it does then that's sad.

Well I'll admit my previous feelings towards Call of Duty may have influenced my opinion of Ghosts. I left CoD behind years ago and haven't looked back. I know that the reveal was running on a PC and not the X1 or PS4. However, IW has stated that the game is being built for PC, which doesn't give me much hope that the visuals will improve. It is of my opinion that Call of Duty's dominance may have peaked and it may be starting to fall. We shall see.

I'm pretty sure it was on the Xbox One... To each their own. It's been fairly known that the multiplayer aspect for COD games are less appealing, since they pull out all the stops for the campaign to look impressive. Just a development preference.

Keep hoping. It won't happen. It has a very strong fanbase and the the sale will go no where, but up.

Agreed, I don't see it happening any time soon where Call of Duty will not sell. It just won't happen. It's like with the madden games and all the other sports games, there is a huge fan base that will buy each of the new games each year.

The sales won't go anywhere, I'll agree on that. But, just like with Madden and a majority of the sports franchises, that doesn't necessarily mean that the product itself is a good product, which in the case of both Madden and Call of Duty, it most often isn't.

Picked up Splinter Cell Blacklist this week and I am surprised to find myself enjoying it as much as I am. It feels far more like Chaos Theory than either of the last 2 Splinter Cells and while it isn't the best looking game, it is a definite step up from the ugly looking Conviction.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted(2012) - 10/10 - Xbox 360
I love racing games, Forza isn't that bad, but it isn't something we haven't already seen before. I've always preferred something much more faster paced. I look towards the Need For Speed Franchise to feed my appetite. The original Most Wanted game is without a doubt a classic and is one of the greatest racing games ever made and I still play it to this day, from time to time. After that game was released in 2005, every year afterwards, a new game in the franchise was released and each one always felt less than it's predecessor. 2010's Hot Pursuit reboot was supposed to fix this downward trend, but the Autolog for that game killed it. The Run was just a Michael Bay video game. When I heard Criterion was rebooting Most Wanted, I was furious. Having seen them ruin Hot Pursuit, I didn't want them to kill this game and the franchise.
I was wrong, DEAD wrong. Most Wanted(2012) is everything I could wish for in a racing game. Never have I played a racing game that looked so beautiful. Never have I played a racing game where I was moving my body to the turns of the car. Never have I played a racing game where my adrenaline was rushing through my body and my heart was about to burst through my chest(I'm serious about that one too!) The new game in the franchise makes you want to immerse yourself in the races again. It makes you appreciate the game as a whole.
Visually, this is game is damn impressive. It looks just absolutely flawless. The races and car chases are simply intense and they require your complete undivided attention. The crashes and overall destruction is just pure fun and it screams back to Criterion's Burnout franchise. The controls, or rather, the handling of the vehicles actually feel like handling a real car. The Autolog takes a HUGE step back and lets you enjoy the game in peace.
There isn't much to say about this game, other than, Criterion have done a fantastic job on bringing the franchise back to life and have done a great job rebooting the Most Wanted IP. For the first time in a LONG TIME, I don't feel inclined to put down the controller and take a break.

Nice review Ace. I left Need for Speed behind a long time ago. I think the last game I played was Rivals on PSP in 2006. I generally go with Gran Turismo for my racing needs. However, I might just need to give Need for Speed another go. With DriveClub, The Crew, GT6, Forza 5 and the new Need for Speed it seems that the racing genre may be making a return in a very big way.

Nice review Ace - certainly whetted my appetite for this.
I'm not a fan of racing games I'll admit, but remember playing NFS: Hot Pursuit on the PC years and years ago, and the "cops and robbers" chase element hooked me, it was so different to the usual 12 racers round a circuit gig.
I got the X-Box version and have to say even now I love to back in for a cop chase with dramatic SFX and effects.
I'll look into this Most Wanted now, I need a new thrill to go on and this sounds it.

Most Wanted(2012) is definitely an adrenaline rush and is extremely fast paced, and loads of fun.
in the meantime, Another review...
Payday 2 - 8.5 - Xbox 360
The sequel to the hit game from 2011, Payday: The Heist, this sequel brings back all the fun, with new additions, few changes, and more robbery galore! Further inspired by some of the greatest heist films (Kathryn Bigelow's Point Break, Michael Mann's Heat, and Ben Affleck's The Town), This game is essentially Left 4 Dead, but with Cops 'N Robbers. A Small team of men; Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains, led by their "brain" Bain, are professional thieves. Taking jobs from robbing stores, to jewelry heists, to robbing banks, to robbing a shopping mall, to stealing expensive paintings from an art gallery. There's of course more than just that. Go in stealthy and shut down the security systems and surveillance camera's and get in and get quick, or go in loud with guns blazing, take a hostage, get the money and get out, all whilst a firefight is going on with the FBI and S.W.A.T.
The game teaches you to think and act smart, as the littlest of decisions can change anything. Kill a hostage or civilian, and the law enforcement will be relentless in wanting to take you and your crew down for good. Throw a bag of jewelery or money away somewhere and the law enforcement will try to take that bag, making your mission harder. A great thing about the game is the realism. Carrying a heavy duffel bag full of goods or money slows you down drastically. It tilts your POV camera and cancels out your sprint, which makes it harder when trying to get to your getaway vehicle. There's also the sense of survival too. There will be missions where you have to drill into a safe, sometimes more than one, and it's very time consuming. With the drilling going on, you have to fend off the law enforcement, and this can quickly become an issue if you have limited ammo, and are overwhelmed. The bigger and riskier the mission or contract is, the more money you get in your offshore account and the money in your pocket to spend. (I have $212K to spend freely, and $17.5Million in my offshore account ) There are two game modes: Crime.Net and Crime.Net Offline. Offline is just that, offline single-player and is extremely difficult as you are tasked with basically doing everything yourself. Online is lots of fun and easy, but is still hard. There's four of you, and it makes great if your playing with friends and you each have an assigned job to do to speed up the process.
There's customization of course. There's lots of weapons, and of course your mask. Spend your free money to purchase weapons and upgrades and masks. The only way to get upgrades and masks(along with their designs and colors) is at the end of a contract when you choose a mystery reward. This can be a bit frustrating, as it can give you an upgrade for a different weapon, and not the optic sight or grip you need for your current gun. Mask customization is very expensive in the game, so choose yours wisely. The maximum level is 100 (Currently at 23) and it makes for playing the game non-stop to get everything you need and further level your online Robber. A downside to the game is the biggest one. The missions. There really aren't too many, though you can play them with increased difficulties and payouts, there just isn't enough and the game doesn't really have a true storyline. It can get old and repetitive quick if your play by yourself, but with friends, it's definitely a lot of fun.
With the mission system and the slight reward system being my gripes, this game is nonetheless worth buying. Originally meant for the PSN, XBLA, and Steam, the game got too big and was forced to be released on disc at $40.00, but it'd definitely worth buying. There's no doubt that the series will have a third game with Payday 3, and if and when that comes to fruition, I'd love for it to be made with the idea of a retail version (going bigger than the standard Arcade style if you catch my drift) and present forward a storyline, along with the original, but much more revamped online mode of Crime.Net.
Payday 2 is One of the best and most original games in recent times and is certainly loads of fun. Grab your guns, grab your suits, grab your crew, get paid!

Another great review. Payday is a great example of a series that started out in the indie sector and was popular and big enough to transition into a larger demographic. I'll check it out when I've got time. Unrelated, I just finished the single player campaign of SC: Blacklist and will post a review once I've thoroughly checked out the online portion, but as a small teaser, I definitely enjoyed it far more than Conviction.
