I think it's possible for a Batman announcement at SDCC this weekend if they want a 2015 release for Batman.

Doubtful.

Is Warner Bros. Rebooting the Batman Franchise with Batman Beyond?

Ever since Christopher Nolan completed his Dark Knight trilogy last summer with The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. has been trying to figure out what to do with their planned Untitled Batman Reboot. They've considered reintroducing the popular DC Comics character in Justice League, there was then talk that Ben Affleck might write and direct a new version of the legendary superhero story, and some even speculated that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Robin might take over the franchise.

Now comes word that Warner Bros. is planning to adapt the 1999 animated series Batman Beyond into a live action adventure as their way to next cash in on the vigilante superhero.
NEAi98QqfFq1DC_1_3.jpg

The animated series followed the exploits of teenager Terry McGinnis, who picks up the mantle of Batman in a futuristic Gotham City (dubbed Neo Gotham), with a much older Bruce Wayne serving as his mentor. The series ran from 1999 to 2001 on The WB network (now The CW). It is also the title of an ongoing DC Comics series still in publication.

This news should be taken as rumor for the time being, but there is speculation that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played John Blake (aka Robin) in The Dark Knight Rises could be used as a substitute for McGinnis and that Christian Bale could return as the older mentor Bruce Wayne, even if it is a glorified cameo. That scenario is, however, very unlike as Christopher Nolan is done with the Batman universe.

It is stated that Justice League would still focus on the Bruce Wayne version of Batman, with this adaptation taking place in a future that was inline with what we see happen in that film and the rest of the DC film Universe, including Man of Steel and its upcoming sequels.

This is reportedly not the only Untitled Batman Reboot idea on the table. What do you think? Do you want to see Batman Beyond in the flesh and on the big screen?
Untitled Batman Reboot comes to theaters in 2015.

While I would completely support a rebooted Batman that incorporated some of the more fantastical elements that we've seen over the course of the years, as such a direction would allow for a wider range of villains to be featured, I can't say that I'd have any interest in seeing a live-action BATMAN BEYOND at this point.

Besides Pacific Rim which looks good, this summer has been extremely horrible for Blockbusters, save World War Z.

I mean I have no interest in seeing The Lone Ranger or White House Down. I mean just because a movie has Channing Tatum in it does not make it an automatic must see in theaters..

The Lone Ranger flopped and so did White House Down, with the latter being nearly the same as Olympus Has Fallen, and not to mention Channing Tatum can't act for S***.

I think Channing Tatum is an okay actor, I mean he was certainly good in comedy, I loved 21 Jump Street and I found that it was hilarious, but I did not like him in Magic Mike there was terrible acting in that movie.

Very sad news today. Veteran actor Dennis Farina has passed away today. Farina has appeared in many films including Get Shorty, Snatch, Midnight Run, You Kill Me, Thief, Saving Private Ryan, Striking Distance, Manhunter and Out Of Sight as well as TV series Law & Order, Michael Mann's short-lived, but brilliantly underrated show Luck and Miami Vice.

Very sad news to hear. Great actor, who always brought his A-Game and has given audiences very memorable performances from the many characters he has played throughout his career. Very tough to hear and accept as I've always liked him and enjoyed him in everything he's in. Rest In Peace Mr. Farina, thank you for everything.

This one actually seems like it could be worth watching, unlike the other two. With Gibson, Schwarzenegger, and now Rousey (as well as other rumored actors who have yet to finalize deals) on board, I'm more excited for this one than the other two combined.

Don't fight it Iceskater - just go with the OAP flow! :P

I personally think this could be better than the 2nd, and that itself was generally viewed as better than the 1st.

Yes, they're not going to break new ground, but general view is it could get better as they progress which says something about the calibre of the action and the cast.

As you say, with Stallone, Gibson, Schwarzenegger, Statham, Lundgren, Rousey and Ortiz confirmed, and with the potential new blood of Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan and Steven Segal....bigger and better comes to mind....!

New GRAVITY trailer and first 47 RONIN trailer.

Sylvester Stallone returning as Rocky for spin-off Creed

We've known for a long while that Sylvester Stallone has plans to bring Vietnam veteran John J. Rambo back for a fifth outing, but before then he looks set to return to another past glory, reprising the role of Rocky Balboa for a spin-off entitled Creed.

According to Deadline, MGM is in early talks with Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) about taking on the lead role of Apollo Creed's (Carl Weathers) grandson in a project that would reunite him with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler. Creed is said to be a dream project of Coogler's, and his vision suitably impressed Stallone enough for them to take the project to the studio.

The plot for Creed is pretty much what you'd expect (no, he's not out for revenge against Ivan Drago):

"Raised in an upper-crust home thanks to the ring riches earned by his grandfather, the young man doesn’t have to box and his family doesn’t want him to. Yet, he has the natural instinct and gifts and potential that made his grandfather the heavyweight champion until Rocky Balboa took his crown in 1979′s Rocky II. Creed’s grandson needs a mentor and turns to Balboa, who is out of boxing completely and not eager to return."

This sounds like it could have potential. Unless it ends with Rocky and Creed Jr. Jr. having a bare-knuckle punch-up outside of a bar, of course.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

My thoughts;

-The new Gravity trailer just reinforces my want to see it.
-Ronin 47 is a lot more fantasy then I was expecting but I'm still very interested in seeing it.
-What got my attention about the Rocky news which should probably be taken with a grain of salt was that it mentioned that Rambo V is already underway and green lite which is welcome news to me.

Stallone needs to let Rocky go. ROCKY BALBOA ended the series in a far better way than anyone could have expected. For a series that went on for 6 films, it really couldn't have ended better.

I'm not really a fan of the Rocky films so I could careless. I think its a little much too. He should just stick with doing a really good Rambo V and ending that series. Load knows Expendables will go on as long as it makes money, so maybe even 3 more of those films.
