Spoiler

Severine is not showed getting shot in either trailer. Just because the villian fires a weapon doesn't mean someone got shot. Most evil bond girls die anyway. How in the world do you know how much screentime she has? You have no inclination. I bet she is in more then half the film probably longer then eve.

Spoiler

I wouldn't be saying these things if I didn't have any way to back them up.

show us your evidence.

Don't.

Believe me, I'm smarter than that. I'm not going to get into a juvenile debate about what is and isn't true, and I'm certainly not going to compromise this board to prove myself. What I can show you is a still from the trailer. If you believe me that's fine and if you don't....well that's also fine. All will be revealed soon enough.

It does seem that neither Bond girl features that much.

Saverin’s scenes are all in China - a 30 to 40 minute section of the movie, I'd say.

Eve is in the PTS. Then she turns up in the Macau hotel and is seen at the casino, but doesn’t go to Silva’s island. I think she is seen briefly in the Whitehall shoot out at the committee room. She is not in Scotland, which is the bulk of the last act. She is seen in the postscript back in London, the rooftop and the offices.

Yes, the story seems to revolve very much around Bond, M, Silva, and Mallory. Not to say that Eve and Severine aren't interesting characters, but it doesn't appear they'll be as central to the film as the past few Bond girls have been.

Yes.

I think it’s quite a bold move to not have Eve in the Scottish finale. With her character and position in the story, it wouldn’t have taken much to redraft the script and have her come along just to have a Bond girl in the climatic sequence. All much more by the book.
I suspect that they must have thought it better for this particular film to simply concentrate on Bond, Silva and M at the story’s conclusion and not shove Eve in simply for the formula. I think that bodes well.

I quite like that. It feels like they made it that way because the major conflict seems to be between Bond, M, and Silva, and that's more or less what the Scottish finale is. A very personal feel to it. We put them in the ring and let them "duke it out", so to speak.

What's the consensus on the final scenes now? Do we still think it ends on the roof with Bond and Eve, or do we think the rumoured post roof scenes in an office may actually happen?

I'm more or less convinced it's the offices.

It seems that the pictures on Dennis Gassner's wall that we can see in the production blog are in chronological order, so if that is the case then it does seem to end in an office, or at least something that resembles an office.

I keep asking myself - after all we’ve seen and the story of Skyfall is all but over, why have they decided to keep the film going to show us a postscript in the classic M and Moneypenny offices?
It has to be quite important. I think we are bound to meet the new M and Moneypenny here. They are bound to be people we already know. I also think it’s possible that a root into the plot of Bond 24 is shown here.

Hasn't it been announced that Bond 24 is already being written? If that's the case, then it's entirely possible that some connection will be made at the end of the film - possibly followed by a James Bond will return in (Bond 24 title)

What is this obsession with that bloody bulldog?

You do understand that most people will have forgotten seeing the thing on the desk in the PTS by this stage and won't give a fu*k about it anyway?

Well apparently Scene 172 is "Bond & Eve on the rooftop. Bond gets the bulldog." Some sort of sentimental value or maybe an inside joke that will be revealed in the film?

Simple.

Ext. Day – A Whitehall rooftop.

Eve - “It was M’s last wish that you have this.” With tears in her eyes, she hands him the porcelain bulldog.

Bond cradles it in his hands and shrugs. “Poor old cow was obviously going off her rocker.” He tosses the monstrosity into the nearest bin.

Fade to black, run end credits - ‘James Bond will return… but that’s the last you’ll see of the bloody bulldog, honestly!”

The new video blog shows that there may be more to Eve then we intially may have thought. She looks to be heavily involved in the scenes of Bond arriving back in London after faking his death, and furthermore joins him in the casino in macau. Nice.

Eve is also shown in the bunker scenes once Bond returns from his death. That will be suitably frosty given the whole bridge incident...

There also appears to be a fair bit of playful flirting between Eve and Bond. Almost Moneypennyesque flirting, one could say... ;)

Baz Bamigboy in today’s Mail has this to say (and he's been saying it all along) – He obviously has a good inside man or woman at Eon, so I think there is a lot of truth in this. I‘m interested to see that he expects Bond 24 to start shooting within the next 18 months.

Curious that he just wont come out and say that Fiennes will end up M, as he has no compunction in letting the Moneypenny cat out of the proverbial bag.

Meet the new Miss Moneypenny

Expect to see Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes in future James Bond films.

The three actors join 007 Daniel Craig in the new thriller Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes, which opens to the public on October 26 following the world premiere in the presence of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the Royal Albert Hall on October 23.

Rising star: Naomie Harris will play the role of Miss Moneypenny in the new James Bond film

Charles is patron of the Intelligence Services and, appropriately enough, the premiere will support charities that help former and serving members of MI5, MI6 and GCHQ.
It's already known Whishaw is the new Q and this page revealed a while back that Naomie is the new Miss Moneypenny.

The Skyfall trailer hints as to what Fiennes's involvement might be, but I'm not going to give it away - though I've known for more than a year, and there are rumours galore on the internet.
All three actors have options in their deals to return in other Bond films (the 24th movie in the series will start shooting within the next 18 months).

I think it's just supposed to be a passing of the torch kind of thing.

I think the film might still end on the roof. Bond could go into the old office, find Mallory in there, and storm off onto the roof. Eve goes up after him and cools him down a bit. They talk about Dench-M and he asks her to give Mallory the bulldog, or put it on his desk, or whatever. Then we see Bond looking over the London skyline and the film fades out.

Don’t you think that an epilogue like that, with little hissy fits and storming off to the roof, would be a bit of a damp squib?

Anyway, the production design wall that prompted the M's office theory was in order of the film, hence what started this - it showed the offices after the roof.
Also, for the bulldog to have a symbolic 'passing of the torch' power, it would have to be more than an ugly paperweight last seen on a desk in a building that was blown up over 2 hours ago.

Perhaps there is a protracted sequence where M, her eyes streaming with tears, rummages frantically through the rubble of the MI6 building. Her stockings laddered, her face dirtied, her fingers bleeding. She pushing aside debris and the bodies' of dead agents until she finds her blessed bulldog paperweight - mercifully intact!!! She clasps it to her breast.
"This is a sign!" she cries. "Even if I can not go on, this bulldog paperweight MUST go on!"

Perhaps M likens Bond to a bulldog in the obituary she writes, so that the connection is explicit. This could explain why Eve would be inspired to give him the thing. With the obituary in mind, she recovers the china dog and presents it to Bond as a gesture of friendship. Less a matter of "She wanted you to have this" as much as "I want you to have this." I doubt if M herself would initiate such a sentimental gesture.

Perhaps something like this...

“James always reminded me so much of my pug-ugly bulldog paperweight, so graciously presented to me by Mr Nick Griffin of the BNP –
a blunt instrument shrouded in the Union flag.”
