I have a massive feeling that this is going to be a mess.

It was always going to be a mess. This game pretty much exists for the sole purpose of cashing in on the 50th Anniversary of the cinematic Bond. Until the developers of these games actually spend more than a year on the development of one of these games, which is what a good number of today's blockbuster games do with their production schedules (look at how long it takes Rockstar to make the GTA games), then they'll always be what we've gotten since Rare released GoldenEye 007, and that's not particularly good news for the Bond gaming franchise.

That's what I'm worried about too - a narrative is so important to games today, heck, even 'Frogger' had a fixed story to it! If we're just getting thrown into different missions and scenarios then I agree also it will be sloppy.

There is plenty of chances to craft a narrative using the scenarios in the films and the characters which we, I am sure, will accept if used properly. Fingers crossed anyway they have something they're not letting on yet, as well as linking it to 'Skyfall' in someway.

Quite the opposite...I want this to eclipse 'GoldenEye: Reloaded' and 'Blood Stone', but the turnaround since 'GE:R' is too quick for me to be convinced a lot has gone into this to make it possibly a great game with the chance they have and I'm a little worried it's going to be a rush job, with bang bang effects and a weak narrative for a Bond game.

But, fingers crossed they prove me wrong...I welcome it!

I don't want it to fail, but I am sick of getting Goldeneye 007 clones or Call of Duty: 007 (probably more accurate these days). I want a real Bond game, with a strong story and actual spy aspects. I'm fine with chases and big action scenes. But come on, a chain gun in a helicopter in OHMSS? Or helicopters in space for crying out loud? This game is just more generic set pieces that happen to be placed in a Bond setting. Nothing special. It's made to appeal more to the millions of COD fans, not Bond fans.

I don't think this game is going to be nearly as bad as some people are speculating. I have it on a pretty reliable source that Legends has more or less been in development since 2010.

Count me into that sick of category... I enjoyed GoldenEye: Reloaded for what it was intended to be, in respects to making it somewhat similar to the original. But now the same engine will be recycled for 007: Legends, a totally separate lot? Heaven forbid the go out on a whim and actually try something new. I'd say Bloodstone was a step in the right direction because of it's freshness. It certainly did not feel like a Call of Duty knock-off. That is what I want from my Bond games. NOT to feel like a poor man's Call of Duty.

Activision played it smart with what movies they included because, it is those alone that has me sold. Not the gameplay (which is sad considering gameplay used to be one of the key features of a Bond game).

Sounds promising coco, I do hope so as I just thought it was launched from when 'GoldenEye 007' was released they started on this one in mid 2011.

I don't think we can truly look at the turnaround time as being since GoldenEye: Reloaded as that wasn't a game that was developed from scratch. It was a (slightly) altered version of the Wii game which came out in 2010. As far as a brand new Bond game, it's been two years.

It's a shame Activision put the better tech, and bigger marketing budget, behind GoldenEye instead of Blood Stone. I loved Blood Stone, I think it was only let down by the graphics for the character models and the multiplayer. Imagine if Eurocom had put the care and attention to detail into that instead of GoldenEye... we could be eagerly anticipating a third person Legends instead!

It's also a shame they haven't kept the third person cover mechanic from Quantum of Solace which I thought was a great feature and made it feel less like a COD clone.

It was announced through the Legends Facebook page today that we'll be getting announcements on the next films featured in the game later this month. Makes sense, given that it's just over two months until the game is released, and we didn't get an annoucement this month aside from the OHMSS trailer.

Connery - Goldfinger (though I wish it would be ThunderBall)

Dalton - License To Kill (though I wish it would be The Living Daylights)

I would guess that we're looking at these as the remaining films to be announced:

CONNERY: You Only Live Twice (although Goldfinger wouldn't shock met at all)

DALTON: Licence to Kill

BROSNAN: Die Another Day

I still hope 'You Only Live Twice' is used, it'd make more sense as there's more scope for battles and it would link Blofeld in well from 'OHMSS' - 'Goldfinger' is too obvious as the "Bond film EVERYONE knows about", rather than picking a film a little more off the usual track.

'Licence To Kill', as my favourite Bond film, is very, very promisng and fingers crossed for that.

'Die Another Day' will be refreshing to have a new Brosnan film in game format, and it may actually make the game exciting and the film a little more interesting to be involved in!

Update from 007: Legends Facebook page...

007: Legends, has announced that it will be revealing a further two missions next week.

Last week, IMDb listed voice artists for ‘Goldfinger Guard’ and ‘Sanchez Guard’, so many fans are expecting ‘Goldfinger’, Sir Sean Connery’s third Bond adventure and ‘Licence To Kill’. Timothy Daltons final Bond outing, to be included in the next annoucement for sure!

That would be very good choice for me. I hope that the title song will be "You Only Live Twice", that would be perfect :D

I agree. I think Blood Stone would've faired much better if Activision had given it the same amount of attention as say EA gave to Everything or Nothing. Instead they put everything into Call of Duty Goldeneye and because of that Blood Stone was left to rot and Raven software's game got cancelled. Also, as an aside, does anyone know what the title actually has to do with the game? Was there an early draft that had more to do with diamonds because the final game has absolutely nothing to do with them

So it really seems like we're simply getting all base destruction levels. It'd be nice if each film had an extended chapter, which I'm assuming it will to an extent, but it seems like the chapters revolve around one major setpiece that's broken into three parts. I want to read hands on impressions of these levels.

I'd believe it. My first thought was that Goldfinger would be Connery's portion as it is the most well known Bond film and LTK would translate very well to a game as it so violent. Although, I wish they would've picked TSWLM for Moore as it is easily his best film. Also, does anyone else think that For Your Eyes Only would make a great stealth/platformer? The scene of Bond scaling St. Cyril's and the diving scenes come to mind. Just as long as Bibi is left out ;)

Baron Samedi? I wonder if that's supposed to indicate that LALD is one of the five levels. I really hope not, because as cool as it would be to play through LALD in a video game format, I really do hope we're getting one level for each Bond actor.

IF there's one thing I hate most in modern gaming, it is this pre-order bull**** that makes it pretty much impossible to ever own the complete version of a game.

I'm hoping an in-game code will become available later on, if not, I'd have no problem if it became available for DLC later on...

The 007 Pack does seem a bit inferior compared to the Nemesis Pack though. 2 Characters compared to an outfit and a hand gun?

Want to know what the next movie will be? We can't reveal it just yet, but here's a hint: it's NOT Thunderball! What do you think the next film is going to be?
