I've not tried multiplayer yet Sharpe, but I hear that's one of the redeeming factors for the game so if you have the chance to buy it, I would do for that if you're into it.

Well, I said I'd have a little review and I've managed to start 007: Legends and I did, so here it is:
I'm blasting away currently into Fort Knox in the first of the films, 'Goldfinger', and it didn't take me long to draw up some pros and cons of what I guarantee will crop up over the game itself. Here is my take -
PROs
- Great music cues that any fan will recognise and enjoy playing away too with it blaring out as you save the day
- Very comforting locations taken from the films that are enjoyable to explore and you can always picture from the films
- Simple basics, nothing to hurt your brain, and always fun blasting away as James Bond!
- Nice voice work by the cast, and even with Daniel Craig's voice artist isn't too bad. Makes it nice and authentic
- Good character models that are convincing as their film counterparts
- Good graphics, and very smooth gameplay which does immerse in you in the Bond experience without lag
- Rushed story, with no time taken for anything except your objectives which is sad nothing else is explained at the sake of cramming it all in
- Does get a loud, noisy and un-Bond like with the amount of shooting and fighting - it does feel like other war games at times when it kicks off
- Attention to detail is cheap; you leave a building as Bond with a machine gun, in the cut-scene you are seen leaving with nothing in your hands. And after leaving Goldfingers private jet, parked on the road outside Fort Knox in the game, I turn around and notice it's a huge Jumbo Jet just parked on a road, surrounded by buildings - there's no explanation how it got there and made me just hate the designers for that. Details.
- Over-the-top game play - too many OTT elements, like dozens of fighter jets, helicopters and rockets popping up just to stop you as easy as a soldier would do. It seems they won't hold anything back
- Boring use of the smartphone to either open doors, hack computers or scan prints in every level in every mission with nothing else to do
- Sadly, the general feeling for me as a major Bond fan is what they could have done better - tone down on the ridiculous game elements like Bond jumping and falling around like an invincible solider in cut scenes that are too OTT, and focus on grittier, intenese gameplay.
I of course have more films to tackle after 'Goldfinger' so I hope I can remove some of these above, but we shall see and I will report back!

Halo Skills can and will not translate to this game haha
We shall see!
Ace. Iceskater. Look, when you've played the number of shoot 'em games I have and grown up on every single Bond game for all platforms from James Bond 007 on the Gameboy - you best just turn away before I unleash hell!
Lol I have played so much halo though you have no idea..

I only bought it the other day, as it had a delayed release here in Australia, but I'm just not enthused to play it as much anymore. I'm currently up to the start of the 1st Moonraker level, but some annoyances so far:
- Repetitive villian showdowns, always a fistfight. While I appreciate this instead of shooting them 100 times, there's more unique ways to dispatch villians in Bond games that actually make you FEEL like Bond. For example, shooting the emergency exit hatch on the hovercraft in Bloodstone, or simply pressing a button to drop the catwalk in Nightfire to kill Kiko.
- Detracting from the original story too much. I really wanted to car chase Zao through the ice palace in DAD, or drive a tanker truck in LTK.
- I think the first LTK mission has been the least enjoyable for me. Must've restarted at least 10 times whilst failing to sneak about and being discovered.

Even 'GoldenEye 007' for N64 had a variety of objective in missions like defuse a bomb before it explodes, rescue Natalya, destory the facility, navigate without being spotted, download secret files etc. That is also what Legends lacks, and just uses the 3 smartphone devices for objectives which is very boring after a few levels.

Now, of course we've all had our opinions on this game being a COD clone with Bond (which sad to say, is). However, I found this game to be fun (of course while it lasted). Yes it is repetitive, but It is worth a buy. I have stated that the game is worth buying at a half marked price, because this game is incredibly short. It's took me nearly 5 days to pass it, because I've been extremely busy, but I got all the way from Goldfinger to Licence To Kill in under 2.5 hours. That's half the game!
The graphics are step up from GoldenEye: Reloaded in my opinion. The controls are just like any standard FPS game controls. The Sound is good, minus the bad generic game score. The Stealth aspects of the game are a major step down I'm very good at the stealth aspects for GE:R, but this game had weak usage of it. The boss fights were a joke. "Move the stick in the direction to fight back!" If I wanted to fight someone or in a videogame, I'd go grab my MMA Gloves and spar with my pal or go play UFC Undisputed 3 and outbox smoeone haha.
The campaign, this was just frustrating. Reviewing each mission in order.
After the opening cutscene of Eve shooting Bond and Patrice pushing Bond off the train we go to a dream sequence of which Bond is remembering his most dangerous missions and enemy's (prusumbly during the 4 year gap between 'Quantum Of Solace' and 'Skyfall')
The first mission: GOLDFINGER - This was the worst, just complete garbage, the Fort Knox assualt was seriously disappointing, and feels just so over-the-top. And When I say that, I mean, Call Of Duty Over The Top. It was, then after about 10 minutes I was wishing it was the next mission. Total Score - 0/5 for GOLDFINGER
The second mission: ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE - I like this one a lot, the opening ski chase I wish wasn't a shoot-em-up, but rather like the film but with the added bit of Bond also trying to protect Tracy while trying to save himself. Once that was done and the assault on the Piz Gloria began it was literally all smiles there for me. Just wish they had the classic Monty Norman Bond Theme playing much like the actual scene in the film. It was a good scene and it worked as a good mission. Sure they changed things, but I was content with it. I just didn't like how Blofeld was killed. I thought it was weak, would've loved it if they had it been the bobsledding scene. Total Score - 4/5 for ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
The third mission: LICENCE TO KILL - Much like OHMSS mission, I loved this one. Loved to the point I wish it was adapted into an entire game. Maybe because I like it a lot, or because it's my all time favorite Bond Film, it was great. The Opening Stealth mission I wasn't a fan of, but I enjoyed the stealth part of navigating through Sanchez's drug operations, but once again, I would've like it if Dario figured out Bond and then from that point on, all hell breaks loose much like the film. I wish the Highway/Tanker chase scene was longer and more played out then the stealth was, because I think it would've been great. Nonetheless, still great. Total Score - 4/5 for LICENCE TO KILL
The fourth Mission: DIE ANOTHER DAY - A not-so-good mission based on the not-so-good Bond film. This mission was hindered on stealth, which wasn't a problem, even though it didn't work as well. After getting caught by Graves and having the fight with Zao, it was a shoot-em-up (of course). After reaching the Aston Martin and having a lackluster driving mission and a lackluster final part for the mission I was glad it was finally over and that I got my achievement. I wish the driving scene was more like the movie as I think that would have saved it and that the final part, being the assault on Graves' plane by Bond and Jinx was more like the film and not just a 3 minute conclusion as I too, think that would have saved this mission. The stealth wasn't that bad, but needed work. Total score - 1.5/5 for DIE ANOTHER DAY
The fifth and final mission (for now): MOONRAKER - Moonraker is an okay movie, and it makes for a horrible mission. I really wish they went with either these choices for the Roger Moore Era: A View To A Kill, For Your Eyes Only, The Spy Who Loved Me,The Man With The Golden Gun. Moonraker was like a Call Of Duty mission gone wrong. The longest one for me to play, DAD being the shortest. It started off promising, and then took a BIG u-turn. I haven't even passed the mission yet, because I'm stuck and frustrated on what is hopefully one of the final parts to the mission. I just couldn't get into the groove with this one. Total Score - 1/5 for MOONRAKER
FINAL CAMPAIGN SCORE - 2.5/5 - Three Lackluster and/or terrible missions and 2 fun and great missions later it's come to the final score. It says it all. Rushed, no replay value, reppetitive. Wait for the game to marked at 50% off and buy it. Was really disappointed.
I knew the game wasn't going to get rave reviews, as most game reviewers are complete morons and expect much much more. I think the next Bond game needs to wait until 2014 as a GOOD tie-in game to Bond 24, or a completely new and great game (much like the promising game Raven Software was working on that got canceled) with a GOOD developer, or by some divine magic, Activision sells the rights to a good publisher and that publisher gives it to a good developer.
The Sixth and final mission (yes final for good unless EuroCom does DLC): SKYFALL - Coming November 20th. Online Multiplayer review coming in the next week or so.

I agree with the 'Goldfinger' mission - I felt like I was storming the beaches at Normandy rather than infiltrate a minor break-in like the film!
I've yet to finish that level and progress, but I'm going back tonight and probably if what you say applies to me will make it to the end if not the final missions.
Glad to hear 'Licence To Kill' was one you enjoyed a bit more as that too is my favourite film and loved the idea of playing that as a game, but I wasn't holding my breath for an amazing experiene, but I will wait to see.
I saw on the 007: Legends FB updates they posted a picture of a 'Skyfall Motorbike' which is identicle to the ones used by Patrice and Bond in the opening Istanbul sequence in 'Skyfall', so maybe we get the whole pre-titles as a mission for that DLC when it comes out?

Was really hoping that the Skyfall mission was to be the Skyfall Lodge Shootout as It made sense to me, and if done right, could be great. It's also one of my anticipations of the film, seeing the Lodge shootout as it looks brilliantly well done.

Going on the current gameplay for Legends, thinking about the film, Skyfall Lodge is the only one that would make sense, as we've seen the helicopter and explosions and gun-fight in the trailers etc and that would be perfect fodder for a game level. Goodness knows what objective there would be though involving a smartphone at a remote Scottish lodge...!
Once you've all seen the film we can deliberate more...!

I think it's Nov 22nd now, for Xbox. Possibly nothing to do with Sony exclusivity, but just that Microsoft certification takes longer than Sony.SKYFALL - Coming November 20th.
The highlight of the game for me was the ice chase in Die Another Day, it was so reminiscent of the Nightfire chase and pretty well executed. What we need is for Activision to look at what they've made so far and try and get a good mixture of it all. The cover mechanic in QOS was great (if they're going to carry on with FPS, they should include it), the tone and environment graphics in Blood Stone were spot on for the Craig films, and Reloaded and Legends do a good job of involving the player with the story through the cutscenes, although Legends did put you on auto-pilot quite a lot.

I loved the cover mechanic in QOS and Blood Stone. I hope the next Bond game will be in third-person, rather than a generic FPS look.

Source?Just checked and the DLC is now moved up to next friday, the ninth for both PS4 and XB360.
Here's a teaser image (not spoilery): http://sphotos-c.ak....665149967_n.jpg
I get the feeling the DLC will just act as a primer for the film, rather than depicting the ending.

Not going to be very authentic than Skyfall Lodge could have been.
I played some more of the game last night and can tick off 'Goldfinger', 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' and 'Licence To Kill' - some more pros and cons:
PROS:
- Great to play alongside film characters, like Pam, Pussy and Draco and battle well modelled villains like Sanchez, Dario and Oddjob.
- Something always gets me when I hear Bond-themed music as I blast away...
- Well detailed levels which strike chords with Bond fans using the locations seen in films, albiet heavily expanded.
CONS:
- Those boss fights are, I echo, very boring and too easy - there's no increasing difficulty and it's such a weak way to end a villain. And I assume every boss tries to hit you with a pole / axe / pipe / stick that you have to disarm and then fight again? Awful, awful process.
- The story is awfully rushed and lacks any linear narrative - from fading out on 'OHMSS', we are STRAIGHT into Bond going mental in 'LTK' - I thought it was some strange continuation in 'OHMSS', it's only when I see Della and Felix I connect - but no pause, no new intro - just straight into it. Any mild fans of the films will be VERY confused as even I was at first. Plus, after 'OHMSS' ends, why do we hear Judi Dench give her monologue about "sometimes we're so focused on our enemies, we forget to watch our friends" and "too much for a blunt instrument to understand" before going into 'LTK' - VERY silly stuff as it bears no relation to that film, why use it? Sounds like she implies Tracy was a villain as she said the same thing about Vesper Lynd. Either that, she blames it all on Bond again. Plus, Spoiler
- The levels aren't crafted equally - 'Goldfinger' was decent, both missions a fair length. 'OHMSS' took me a little less time about 25 minutes, but 'LTK' took ages in nearly an hour of gameplay. It's very un-even, and shows how disjointed it is at equality and content. Part 1 of 'LTK' took 44 minutes, Part 2 took about 5. Honestly.
Rant over ...and relax.
