What are the buildings they built within the studio? Are they the ground level of the Shanghai buildings?

Buildings in Shanghai - I'd say yes.

They could just as easily be the upper levels; they don’t have to show the studio floor. Digitally, they could be placed quite high up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this bunker in the spirit of the old films where MI6 had these secret field lairs set up around the place right under people's noses, like the pyramids in TSWLM, the wreck of the Queen Elizabeth in TMWTGG and so on and so forth?

My thoughts exactly. First thing that came to mind was TSWLM set. Quite exotic I´d say, even if it´s in London. Very WWII reminiscent.

So - is this tremendous set - the underground bunker - the set where we read that a subway train "tube" crashes down from the ceiling? If you put all the puzzle pieces together - and that's the case - then that means Silva has inside knowledge of the underground bunker's exact location. He knows exactly when to ignite the bomb. Very interesting.

No I believe this scene is at the start of the film, wheras the train bombing is about 3/4 of the way through. Could be nearby this base, though.

I doubt it. So far as I can figure, the entrance to the underground bunker was very noticeably in the area of Smithfield Market's underground parking garage, whereas the Tube stations involved in the chase (Temple, Embankment, and Westminster) are on the Circle or District Lines near the Thames in the Westminster/ Whitehall area.

Overjoyed.
How can you even make a James Bond movie without a ground breaking narrative...

They did a good job keeping us from seeing all the set photos clearly but I did see a few different looking bedrooms.

That underground bunker is kind of like the set in the Q scene of TLD, isn't it?

Interesting to note some of the sets described in the sketches in the videoblog:

Golden Dragon Subterranean Parlour (High Stakes Room)

Int. Silva's Office - Computer Room - Corridor to Courtyard

MI6 Bunker

Btw I can tell @ 0:44 seconds it is the q scene.

I don't think so. M is in the foreground, and based on what the characters are wearing, I'd assume this is Bond retrieving the Aston Martin from a garage before fleeing to Scotland with M. (Although admittedly I guess the garage could be located in Q branch).

It looks like a warehouse, doesn't it. Probably a secret MI6 storage facility that Bond and M go to after they escape from Whitehall in the Jag.

Could be, but people involved with the film keep saying that it’s Bond’s personal car, not an MI6 car.
In the story, until recently, everyone has thought Bond is dead. It’s possible that his personal property has been put into storage, the DB5 included.

Yes, I'd say this fits with the stuff the shot in Deptford at night.

I can't help but be reminded of the factory scene in AVTAK because of those wood boxes in the background.

Either way looks like it will be a very interesting scene, so I'm guessing EON is retiring the DB5 and going with the DBS in future films..?

Thanks Skyfall, that's helpful.

The Video Blogs were billed as “from the cast and crew of Skyfall” (well, it says something like that on the Blu-ray Bond 50 box set, which will include them as extras). So, it would be reasonable to expect contributions from Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench and Daniel Craig in terms of the cast. As for the crew, possibly - Stuart Baird, Thomas Newman, John Logan and Roger Deakins. I’d guess a minimum of 8 more Video Blogs, but it could be as many as 10 or 12.
If this is the case, they’d need to start putting one out every 2 weeks.
I’ve got my fingers crossed for an instalment from a cast member before the end of this week.

I'm hoping for a Deakins blog, which, I'm sure we'll be getting sometime soon. Can't wait to hear how he approached the aesthetic of the film.

Still a couple of days left!

They release some video blogs for the 'Designing Bond' London exhibition in the last few days - maybe they are keeping us waiting for a bit more 'Skyfall' information until nearer the main trailer is released...?!
