"The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old. I've been a fan of the movies."
Sounds promising, and I look forward to seeing this video! New footage anyone maybe...behind the scenes snippits of filming...?! Bring it on!

Mendes is one of those professionals I could honestly listen to all day. He's informed, eloquent, and I'm anxious to hear him speak at length about Bond. It probably won't be more than 2-3 minutes of 'I've always loved Bond'-type fluff, but it's still exciting. If only for the blurred production design images on the walls behind him we'll spend weeks dissecting afterward!

Here's another quote from SKYFALL director Sam Mendes' videoblog: "I think it is still possible to make a big, entertaining, fabulous, glamorous movie and yet at the same time to say something about the world that we’re living in." Remember to hit 007.com at 0700 GMT tomorrow for the full world exclusive...
To be frank, nothing really interesting. I think that, like in the MGWilson clip, the most interesting things are going to be the ones that are "behind" Mendes speech...

Of course it is, but what exactly? The same old Damon-Clooney-Greengass-Penn liberal bromides, or something new?

Wait a moment, this is pretty interesting. His statement suggests that the plot could take inspiration from the world in which we live and we know that after September 11th the world has changed. I wonder if the attack on MI6 could involve a plane falling from the sky...

"I’ve made six movies and this is the first time I’ve shot in this country – which is an extraordinary thing. I feel like the American years were my apprenticeship for doing a Bond movie!"

Yes.The Peter Jackson/Hobbit video blogs (also an MGM co-production out at the end of this year) are over 10mins long and quite detailed. Would it be too optimistic of us to hope for something similar?

Indeed.I'm just happy we'll be getting anything in video form after being in the dark for so long. I doubt we'll get anything genuinely new but it'll be nice hearing from those involved.
