With just 90 seconds to talk, isn’t it good to hear Mendes use words like “glamorous” and “escapist” as opposed to “dark” and “gritty”?

I just watched the video and it contains some very interesting previews. Let's see what they are.

0 min 8sec: Black Range Rover in MI6 underground bunker, scene 42B filmed on November 3rd, probably Bond and Tanner being chauffered in the SUV- I can recognize Tanner and the driver, I can't see Bond but it is likely he is in the back seat.

0 min 20 sec: M sitting on a chair in an unidentified room

0 min 40 sec: Shanghai International Airport arrival ( the real place where the scene was shot is obviously Ascot Racecourse)

0 min 44 sec: Bond opens a glass door raising his PPK in a scene set in Shanghai ( I couldn't read the all the words we see behind Bond, but i'm pretty sure one of them is " optic") - scene V64BA

0 min 53 sec: Ola Rapace in front of (probably) Bardem -we can see only his back- at the Shanghai International Airport

0 min 56 sec: Ralph Fiennes talks to Judi Dench in the MI6 underground bunker ( this is probably the scene 53)

1 min 3 sec: Sam Mendes at Ascot Racecourse doubling for Shanghai International Airport

1 min 14 sec : entrance to Westminster Underground Station

I watched this at 7am but have been unable to get on CBn since then to post. Was quite pleased to spot M with Fiennes (limping, I believe) and Rapace early on. Given what little we do know, I guess that Bond stalks Rapace in a good old-fashioned style from Shanghai airport to the office building.

I think there are quite a few nice little bits in the video, and as much as we could hope for, given the secrecy of SKYFALL. There are little snippets if we pore over it forensically enough - hopefully there will be more of these!

Damn EON...they know what they are doing to us CBNers, putting the Bond-cat amongst the forum pigeons. They knew we'd be all over this video looking for clues like oil over Agent Fields.

Good investigative work on our part though...kudos!



I know I'm looking into this probably too much also, but judging by how Fiennes is stood up talking to M (love the way we use all character names but Fiennes is still 'Fiennes', and not 'Fiennes's character' haha.....woah, ok, too many Fiennes...)...

Anyway, with the framing of the shot in the monitor Mendes is looking at, it's almost like she could be on the recieving end of a dressing down, the way the camera pans across her from his point of view...maybe she is getting a grilling everytime he opens his mouth to her if they have that love-hate relationship?

Not much to talk about the video I'm afraid. Yes there were a couple of shots, but we've seen them all from photos, haven't we? And there was the classic "I was also a Bond fan when I was young" publicity thing. As I said not much to say.

I agree, very much so.

It's like Mendes is capturing the tone, flow and overall process of 'Skyfall' just in this blog. It's well filmed and put together; calm, collective, slightly informative and teasing.

I'm glad it didn't expose nearly everything we wanted to see in one video (Bardem, action shots, girls etc), as it seems to dictate the theme of 'Skyfall' will also be very smooth, stylish and well thought out (instead of anything flashy or loud or choppy a'la 'QOS').

I'm certainly getting blue-balled for Bardem. I can understand why they're withholding the character's name. It would reveal his nationality and that would expose something of the plot. But I want something. He's the biggest name to play a Bond villain since... Christopher Walken? If not the character name, it would be nice to have some clue about what kind of villain he is: terrorist, renegade general, corrupt politician, gangster, plutocrat, assassin, rival spy, etc. Right now it's a total vacuum around Bardem. As a result, we have nothing to talk about. I want some little scrap of information about Bardem's character, so that we can start speculating and arguing in earnest.

Echo pretty much all the above. Nice to hear from him, he seems enthused. I'm a little amused/annoyed at the audacity to show us clips from the production of Casino Royale. Otherwise I hope more is on the way.

All I can say is..Bardem's character better be one hell of an impact to the series/ thefilm/ us fans, as I've never known as much secrecy about a Bond character, never mind it being a juicy villain!

We’ve discovered why we were kept in the dark concerning Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw’s characters names.

Bardem – to begin with, I thought they just wanted to drip feed us with as little as possible over the most protracted period of time.
But I’m now coming round to the notion that there is some big reason why they are so reluctant to give away anything. (And no, I don’t think he’s playing Blofeld.)
One of the call-sheets apparently shows that it’s a small name - 4 or 5 letters.

I think the same Shrublands - there has to be a big signigicance to the character in relation to either the whol axis of the film or the franchise for this amount of secrecy, I mean not even 'on-set' photos have been found.

I suppose Blofeld is the bigest rumour going but I don't think they would bring Blofeld into the Craig era as yet, but equally Bardem's character must have some other, sinister alter-ego (maybe he's a relation to a villain/ally of previous films...?)



Hm, no - that would be something more in the Brosnan era actually. Forget that.
