Saw a bit of the Shanghai airport baggage caroussel there.. and some other interesting things going in the background, but otherwise VERY disappointing blog...

It might not be much, but I think one of Mendes' comments really sold me on the idea of him as a director: that everyone has their own personal connection to Bond. Every time a new film is announced, the cast and crew are inevitably asked about what Bond means to them and their earliest experiences with the films. And it does tend to get a bit same-y. So I think Mendes' remarks identifying the way everyone has their own personal connection to the franchise are very intelligent - it's like he recognises that SKYFALL will be somebody's first experience of Bond, so rather than trying to create something that resonates with what he knows about Bond, he's trying to create something that other people will remember as being part of their own Bond story.

Well, a nice end to my day. Nothing to be gleaned. Building scene was nice to see and that Bond was clearly stalking the sniper and now much more clear that it's taking place on a vacant floor rather than a rooftop. Also, a few quick glimpses of the airport terminal scene. The bunker shots of M working away at a laptop. I did like the interview and Mendes seems genuinely happy which is good now that were better than three months in.

Right then! Carry on!

Building scene was nice to see and that Bond was clearly stalking the sniper and now much more clear that it's taking place on a vacant floor rather than a rooftop.

Empty - except for neon signs, which seem to line up with the logo on one of the clapperboard images. Maybe the office space is quite literally a front, dressed up to look like a legitimate business, but with nothing beyond the receptionist's desk except empty space. If this is the case, then the presence of the sniper suggests that the office space was set up specifically for an assassination attempt. The question is who the target might be.

That's at odds with EON/Mendes' policy of keeping as much as possible under wraps.

I expect them to come closde to what Forster did in the next weeks - in terms of how much they show in in length. This was just a warming up and no, the next one should be less of Mendes talking and more of the film.

Yes, I would expect that now that he’s talked about the background to him accepting Skyfall, we will move on to bits and bobs concerning the making of the film. But all carefully filmed and edited to give the minimum away.

Possibly next we'll get one about casting and rehearsals.

Well for an introductory video blog, my faith in Sam Mendes and 'Skyfall' has been boosted more so.

Nothing loud, in your face "look at this, this and this!!"...just a nice setting by our director and teasing production images (as their secrecy has been very well maintained, they are going to reveal what they want us to know when THEY want us to know!).

Loved the connections Mendes put on his imagery of Bond, and the use of how good Craig is, and also he actually feels about the project. I think was a very good introduction.

- The Shanghai building looks very cool with Bond stalking in the shadow - that could be a very visually exciting piece.

- And at the 1.00 minute mark, fast it maybe...in the action in the background...is that Fiennes standing up talking to M maybe? I thought it was...but couldn't be sure...??

you could be right good catch but it hard to tell.......so who knows

Just had a look at it in HD quite large and I think it is him. Well spotted.

Thanks, I hope it is...so that could nudge any rumours he's digging into M's past, or he's on her level to take over the role of M in future? Oooooh....
