Good observation about Eon recognising the significance of the gun barrel. I wouldn't say I'm blown away by it, but it's fine to be going on with. Four days to the teaser trailer though!

I just saw it (I want to stay spoiler free for the movie itself, but no way on Earth I wouldn't see the posters...). I must say I don't like it. Looks like a fan made copy of Bond's pose in QoS poster pasted on the gunbarrel. Sorry, really doesn't work for me. Were I not already hooked to this movie, this teaser wouldn't tease me one bit.

First thing that caught my eye: The Gunbarrel. The classic gunbarrel. Striking. Then again, I was also initially let down it wasn't a 60's throw back...but that lasted like 3 seconds. The simplicity speaks volumes. This is Bond. It's a tunnel he's walking down, too. They wrapped the gunbarrel around the tunnel walls. This is very cool. Props to EON.

Hello, staunch supporter of the Kleinman barrel here... if you mean bring back the original Binder gunbarrel like some people have said, the Kleinman barrel has the same design, there's nothing specific to the original in the poster.

I don't think I've been let down by a teaser poster in the Craig era yet. The Casino Royale one is still tops, this is a close second, and the Quantum one is third. Really excited that Monday is the day for the trailer. Can't wait!

I agree! The first poster for Casino Royale with Craig at the poker table with the gun on the table is my favorite of all CR posters released. The Quantum Of Solace poster of Bond walking through the desert with the sub-machine gun establishes Bond is looking for revenge and closure. This poster just brings out the very best. It's Showing Bond ready to do what he does best and whatnot.

Definitely hope there is an IMAX midnight showing, because I'm there on November 9th!

Let´s analyze:

We need an iconic homage for the 50th Anniversary. So, here we have the gun barrel.

Of course, we need our "present" Bond. So, Craig in the middle of the gun barrel. Shooting? Let´s try something new, just looking to us but with his (old) Walther and a luxury watch... Menacing action, violence, but also luxury.

Tuxedo or necktie? Tuxedo is more classic and iconic, but in the new movie he will be mostly with necktie and that´s also classic...

It´s the Golden Anniversary, so 007 in Golden letters... and let´s underline that, leaving the rest in black and white.

SkyFall? Without it, the poster is great, but, well, people have to know a new film is coming so let´s put it and the identification is plein.

Good iconic anniversary poster. Could be worse. Could be better? Maybe, but this is quite good.

What I love is what it implies. 007 is going to visit is "cave". See the heroes journey book or wiki if you don't get it.

Clever interpretation! Indeed - could be a motif here. Not sure if these things are as deeply conceived as we tend to interprete them here.

Sure it's cool cause it's James Bond and the gun barrel. But it's nothing unusual or something I'm ooooing and awing about. But as a Bond fan it excited me cause we're getting closer to having 007 back on the big screen!

I would definitely have to agree.

The day that EON released all of those publicity stills was probably the one day that I really got excited for SKYFALL. I was hoping to have a similar reaction with the teaser poster. I'm just thankful that I didn't get my expectations regarding the teaser particularly high, otherwise the poster would have been a pretty big disappointment.

This. That being said, it does the job of letting you know Craig is Bond and a new Bond film is coming soon.

What the poster does is effectively send the message that Craig is established as Bond, and that SKYFALL is "classic Bond." The image is nothing groundbreaking, but it's a fine, classy image that announces a new Bond film will be here soon.

That said, I do think if EON wants to cross the US domestic $200 million threshold, they're going to have to be a little less safe, and let everybody know that SKYFALL isn't just a Bond film, but the Bond film.

Would be nice to see Skyfall cross into the $200 million Domestic mark as well Harmsway. I'm sure the added bonus of the film being released in IMAX will help as well. It Would be even better if the films final worldwide gross is in between $600 - $700 million. The anticipation of the film. The fact it's an original story and not continuing from Quantum Of Solace. I'm making an early estimate that Skyfall will not only be the highest grossing Craig era film, but the highest grossing Bond film yet.

Do keep in mind what teasers have looked liked in the past. Gold hued Bond. Flaming female silhouette. Gun on an ice block. Will take this one over those.
