Shooting cancelled? Boy, I hope that was only due to minor problems.

It sounds like the sort of thing that happens due to bad weather, filming on the streets of London was cancelled on a few days because the weather was not idea.

Thanks for your appreciation, Shrublands.

This CNN Turk's video shows the motorcycle incident that caused the damage to the jewelry's showcase. The shop's surveillance camera recorded the moment of the incident.

James Bond stuntman crashes in Istanbul bazaar
(Reuters) - A stuntman in the new James Bond film "Skyfall" now shooting in Istanbul lost control of his motorcycle and smashed into the window of a 330-year-old shop in the city's 15th-century Grand Bazaar, Turkish media said on Monday.

The stuntman swerved to avoid hitting extras while careering through the Grand Bazaar at high speed, the NTV news channel said, but then crashed into the jewellery shop and smashed its crystal glass window.
"It is very nice for the Grand Bazaar to be chosen as a location for shooting this kind of movie. But the bazaar's administration ... didn't notify us the shooting would be like this," said Mete Boybeyi, the owner of the shop which once served members of the Ottoman court from the nearby palace.
"This place is regulated by the Council of Monuments. We can't even change our window without their permission," he said.
The bureaucracy involved in replacing the window would take quite some time, Boybeyi said, and that would mean the shop would remain shut and a loss of revenue.
"No one from the movie crew came to ask 'what are your losses?'," Boybeyi said. "We filed a complaint at the police station."
Skyfall, due for release in October this year, is the 23rd film in the popular and lucrative Bond series. Full details of the plot are a fiercely guarded secret, but in the film, producers say, "Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her".
The 1963 Bond film "From Russia with Love" and the 1999 Bond film "The World is Not Enough" were also filmed on location in Istanbul, one of the world's most historic cities which sits on the banks of the Bosphorus dividing Europe and Asia.

Unfortunate accident, but a motorbike chase through the bazaar sounds excellent! Having been to the Grand Bazaar, I can certainly confirm how crowded it is. Should look great.

"You can't make a Bond film without breaking some glass"....as Jack Nicholson's Joker might have said.. LOL! Seriously, I'm glad nobody was injured and I'm sure the production team will do the right thing and compensate the shop owner..

No, he isn't. Based on what I know, Craig's stunt double should be a famous champion of freestyle motocross. That's all I can say.

But that is, at the very least, Craig's double? Confirming Bond wears a very Goldfinger-esque light grey suit for that sequence?

It does indeed. At least five different suits, off the top of my head.

The guy on the foreground is Craig's stunt double. He appears to be wearing the same suit which another Craig's double was seen wearing during the train stunt sequence. This is a further confirmation that both the scenes shot in Adana and Istanbul belong to the same sequence.
The motorbike on the background is the police motorbike we've seen being ridden by Patrice during the chase in Adana.

Now, we just need another clapperboard to settle once and for all that this is the pre-title sequence!

It's interesting to think that just two films ago Bond was dressing down for his first major action sequence in the film. Now we got him in a suit while engaging in a motorbike chase(!)

Yep. If that's indeed him. And I hope it is, because wow, what a retro reference and hilarious, classically Bond-looking sequence if he wears that.

Craig did say that when we catch with Bond at the start of the film that he's doing Bond like things. I'd say this falls under that category.......................Skyfalls.............

So we're going to get an opening that is incredibly Bond. Then once the film proper starts we're back in familiar Craig Bond territory where they turn the image of Bond on it's head (Bond battered and with stubble).

You know, I actually like that, then they can have their "Bond reborn" sequence partway through the film. I think it can work if they pull it off correctly.

Coming up next week

The film ,directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig ,will come to Turkey next Tuesday for shooting - was learned. So far were made just stuntmen remote shots, film's close ups will begin to withdraw from next week. Craig, will do the first shots in Fethiye. The famous actor’s shots are planned to be completed in a week, then he will move to Istanbul. Last shots will be made in Adana and will take about three weeks.

In Eminonu cars will be blown up

Istanbul will host the most important action sequences of Skyfall. Motorcycle chase scenes will be drawn on the roof of the Grand Bazaar. In Eminönü [will be taken] shots of blown-up cars. Until now many cars smashed in the shooting. More than 40 luxury brands' vehicles have turned out to be used during the shooting , both in rehearsal shots and action sequences.
...

I think most of her scenes might be being shot at sea. So, it might still fit in with that.

Now Daniel Craig's shooting schedule in Fethiye seems to roughly coincide with Tonia Sotiropoulou's one. Great intuition, Royal Dalton.

Yes, good call.

With what we know from the scene numbers, it’s possible that the film will cut to Bond in Turkey up to scene 38.
39 is where we first see Bond in London, scenes before that just involve M and Tanner.

Bond, believed to be dead, is on that yacht with the Greek beauty. We cut to this amongst what’s going on in London.
After the attack and the funeral, an unshaven Bond (and without socks) is found and brought back to London and the MI6 bunker.

It would also give a bit of visual variation, some sea and sun amongst the grey Winter London – Extends the amount of exotic location time into the body of the film.

Thanks, Luigi.

It looks really good, doesn't it.

Notice that the stuntmen have got those motion capture dots on their faces. So, they're obviously going to paste Craig and Rapace's faces onto them later on.
