That really is a hatchet job.
How about getting someone to, you know, draw pictures? The margins on this thing are going to be huge - it's literally just packaging they're selling. How about spending a couple of grand on some really cool artwork?

I know. There's only a brief shot of him in the gunbarrel. They don't even put him in the section of the video where it shows all the Bonds. Not ONE shot of George Lazenby and OHMSS in that trailer??!! What's up with that??!!
"All The Bonds": Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig... Uh I think you missed one.
Edit: I see the discussion on the previous page
I think for the blu-ray box art they should've just lined up the Bonds in order of appearance: Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, and Craig
Of course that wouldn't work but because you have to have the "popular Bonds" right in the center

I'm sure the SE for Quantum of Solace will be included as well.
The Digital Bits website stated that there will be new extras included in the set. Hopefully this means that every film will have several new features. I also really hope they expand the trailers, TV spots and radio spots on the films too. Moonraker for example only has 1 trailer. No radio or tv spots. Plus the teaser trailer is not included!!!
Looking forward to the special features info!
I like the box design as well. It's classy and really pulls in attention to it. Hopefully it will be a huge seller for MGM and Fox.

I'd like to see an SE included in this set as much as the next non-Quantum-hater, but I sadly don't see it happening here... or at all.
If there ever is an SE or CE I'd like it to have a seamlessly branching extended version with fewer quick cuts and some more well-rounded scenes. A second disc should be provided to include all previous bonus materials and also add some new stuff that isn't so "vanilla"/EPK. A commentary from Forster and some others would be good, too... even if he just says "I'm sorry" repeatedly for 106 minutes.
I believe that the release of an extended cut would increase the appreciation of Quantum for one of two reasons: 1) it'll be much better than the theatrical version, or 2) it'll be terribly dull and make the extreme "haters" actually like (okay, more like not hate) the theatrical cut.
Regarding the entire set: I'd love to see more special features on each Blu-ray disc, too, but I'll just be happy if we get all of the UE DVD stuff with some of it redone in HD like the previous Blus... I'm mostly praying that we don't get any barebones discs. It's pretty safe to say there's no chance of that because it would create a *major* backlash.
That said, here's to what's sure to be an awesome set!

I've heard from a reliable source that the supplementary material will not be redone in HD like the previous films.

1, Bond films will get reissued for as long as new films are made. This is not MGM and Eon being especially greedy, it's standard procedure. If you collect movies outside the Bond universe you know favourites get reissued all the bleedin' time!
2, They WILL be issued separately, as they were on DVD and VHS. The problem with being a wannabe fan is that you want to get everything at once. There was a time when you couldn't OWN theatrical films on home video, period, you know?
3, You should be patient. I skipped the special editions altogether because I knew there would be a better edition at some point in the future and it paid off. I'm not even considering getting Bond on blu until the whole series has already been released. There are issues such as the cropping in View and GoldenEye which I want answered before I open the wallet. If you already started buying the blus, wait until the remaining titles are available separately.
4, The cover's kinda ugly. Photoshopped heads onto different bodies is not my idea of classy. I want these for the upgrade in image. I already own the posters so I'm not gonna start crying if they don't include them on the individual covers.
5, I sincerely doubt the 23rd disc will be that essential.

Some of the comments sadly reveal wannabe fans trying to get themselves some street cred. Any old hand SHOULD know by now that:

A remarkably condescending post, sir, if you don't mind me saying so.
I'm sure most of us hadn't realised there were "qualifications" to be a Bond fan; I always thought you were - in which case are here - or you're not - in which case you wouldn't be? What, therefore, is a "wannabe" fan???? . Further, I think suggesting those "wannabe"s (!) commenting are trying to achieve some kind of "street cred" because they oppose EON's actions is rather juvenile statement for someone of your 40 years.
But your Yoda-like experience is noted, young man.

Your statment makes you a "wannabe fan" because you only want to get all of the films on Blu-ray at once... your logic is flawless!!! Wait, or are you somehow not a "wannabe fan" because you're waiting to get them all at once?
I would like all of the UE flaws to be corrected, as well, but I'm primarily satisfied with the much higher quality of their video and audio presentations. Maybe I've been too spoiled by HD, but it's almost painful for me to go back and pop in the SE DVDs. Sure, little things like the P&S version of the title sequence on GE, image cropping throughout a few films and some strange choices in color timing (I hope they've evened out the eclectic OHMSS beach fight so it's not so "day-for-night" DARK BLUE and made "tranny Blofeld" less green) are quite offputting... but having the remaining 9 films on Blu-ray is what I'm looking forward to the most.
I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I also hope to see some new bonus material for all of the films (not holding my breath) but I agree that the bonus disc is not likely to blow anyone's mind. I'm counting on the disc being about 90 minutes (the hour doc and probably half an hour of junk promoting Skyfall that'll become useless once the film is released) of fluff, but the 50th anniversary documentary might have some previously unreleased little clips like all of the Bonds' screen tests or something... that'd be cool.
Oh, I almost forgot... BOND FAN 4 LIFE, MOFO!!! (trying to up my "cred")

Don't like the rumours that the Inside docs haven't all be upgraded to HD. Surely not?!
Are you calling me a liar? Some of this material is stuff I personally provided, like the OHMSS Above it All featurette on OHMSS. It won't be in HD. I'm not happy about it either.

So you recorded a commentary with GL? Or are you calling it "my GL commentary" because you want it? It's been well documented that GL was offered a sum of money to do a commentary, and he turned it down. He wanted what Roger got. When it was pointed out that Roger was commenting on 7 films and GL only 1, Lazenby didn't care, he wanted the higher sum, they said no - it is on a per film basis, and he refused to do it.
Sure, I'd love to have TD commentaries too. Why not ask for Connery commentaries?
Sorry if I sound a bit perturbed, but I am amazed at how few fans realize it is a business. The HD decision was about money. Lazenby's decision was about money. They tried to get all the actors to do commentary. It didn't happen. You can complain about it and act like they forgot to include some actor, or why didn't they throw a ton of money at it, and the answer is the supplementary materials budgets on these just aren't very high.
Look at the new Star Wars blu rays. George Lucas has deeper pockets than anyone. Do you get Mark Hamill commentary? No. Harrison Ford? Heck no. Oooh you get Carrie Fisher!
I know that Richard Kiel turned down a commentary (not Bond - but Twilight Zone) because they would only pay scale, and he felt his commentary was worth more than that.
I'd love to have multiple commentaries, hours of HD documentaries, unused footage, screentests, etc. And then reality strikes...like Thunderball.

Interesting... I didn't know all that stuff about the commentaries (and Laz's situation).
I would hope that at least the "Inside" documentaries were redone in HD... I know it's a bit of work to rescan the photos and some of the film clips (although pretty much only clips from the film itself were actually in HD on previous Blu's) and re-edit everything, but it was a nice touch on the discs we've gotten thus far. It's amazing to think that those documentaries are all at least 13 years old (and the GF and TB "Phenomenon" ones are 17) as I feel like I just watched them for the first time yesterday and the HD treatment made them seem that much more timely.
As much as I don't like the idea of the vintage featurettes NOT being rescanned, it doesn't bother me as much due to the fact that most of them aren't exactly in pristine condition and are only available in 8 or 16mm... and an incredibly dirty 8mm print definitely wouldn't benefit very much from 1080p. (Spinal Tap is the only film shot on 16mm that I have on Blu-ray and it looks only slightly better in HD, possibly due primarily to the higher bitrate and not just the resolution)
As for the 'Twilight Zone' supplements: they're incredibly exhaustive as is (especially the new Blu-ray releases) but it would have been that much cooler to have the lead Kanamit tell us all about life before Jaws!

I've been wondering this too. I do hope that a Collector's Edition will still see the light of day.Given the amount of time that's passed, I'm wondering whether there'll be any new material for Quantum, or if they'll just reissue the Blu-ray with the podcasts and other materials that are already on the existing release.

That is correct. It does not appear that the Making of and other docs for the 9 Bond films that are not out yet on blu ray will be converted to HD for the Bond 50 set.
The Quantum of Solace Collector's Edition was completed in 2009 or so. Laurent Bouzereau (The Art of Bond book as well as other DVD supplements producer) was the producer. The MGM financial issues have held up its release. The logical step would be to include the film in the Bond 50 set. I would be really surprised if it is not included in the set. Either way I'm getting the set as I just sold all of my Bond blu rays!
I'm really looking forward to hearing the full specs for the Bond 50 bd set.
It's been a long wait on those last 9 James Bond films making it to blu ray!!!

I'm going to guess it's because they couldn't get Guy Hamilton or Lewis Gilbert.
(also... from the way he says it, he doesn't seem to know the difference between an Aston Martin and a BMW... and he's the one who directed the film!)
(a second note: I'm pretty sure the moderator was meant to ask the "every Bond actor brings something new" question to Martin Campbell... since he filmed two debut films and all)

I don't dislike Mr. Apted (I'm actually a fan of TWINE and, to a lesser extent, the third Narnia film) but I don't know why they chose him to accompany two multiple-Bond-film directors.

I'm kind of even surprised Marc Forster was not there as well. I could understand Hamilton and Gilbert not attending. It would've been great to see them though.
I really love the older Bond films. 60's, 70's and 80's Bond films are at the top of the charts for me.
I'm so excited to get those last 9 titles on blu ray... finally!!!
