There are screencaps from the German Blu rays. They look like a mixed bag indeed. They don't look as good as the blu rays released back in 2008. I have a feeling they have just contrast boosted the DVD master changed the color and then passed it as HD.

As far as I can remember the blu rays were meant to go back to the origianal negatives.

As I mentioned earlier a friend of mine had reported that You Only Live Twice has the iffy sound effects added just like the DVD, after the gun barrel the whoosing sound as it opens up and the space capsule opening up and making a big jarring sound. Also he says in Diamonds Are Forever the cat in the pre title sequence has a longer cry which can't be right because the original sound was more like a single cry.

Do you think the US versions may be different?

They look horrible....I just hope the US versions will be different.

Thank you! Looking at Octopussy and it looks wonderful!

I think I'm getting a bit lost, having read through all of the above comments about the transfers, etc. Can someone clarify something for me?

Are the pre-existing Bond blu-rays getting the exact same transfer in this new box set, or are some of them different, or inferior?

I hope they're the same!

The online reviewers so far claim that they are the same transfers, but I would question if they know the films well enough to tell. Thunderball, Moonraker and The World Is Not Enough could all do with a new transfer anyway to sort out some of their problems

They didn't fix the earthquake shake in A View To A Kill..my friend confirmed from his copy..I'm cancelling my pre order and sticking with my special edition DVDs. Such a damn shame.

If someone can confirm with the US versions then we will know for sure.

For those who like the set, but don't have Blu Ray, Amazon are doing the Bond50 in UE DVD form...

This coming boxset is so lame; they didn't include a disc holder for Bond 24 after Skyfall. I think I'm not going to buy it. Serves them right!

(What? I sound pathetic?)

Well I suppose after the big 50, it's almost another new era of celebration so anything post-'Skyfall' will be out of the 50th tie-ins I guess.

Yes of course. I was just trying to make (questionable) fun of some posts here that are always being negative about this set based on tiny irrelevant details thus forgetting that we'll get all the Bonds in BR for the first time in a glamourous package.

I did chuckle at your post, Messervy. It's preposterous to me that this box set could include any Bond movies beyond the year 2012, and even Skyfall for that matter!

Apart from the wonky Photoshopping on the front, this does look like a delicious box set and I'm hovering near my front door every day hoping it will arrive. The Spy Who Loved Me will be first to spin.

Ooh, can't wait!

This is exactly my mood also. I'm so excited.
I just don't understand why some people complain about tiny details. I'm so happy to get this BR set in what looks to be a very nice package.

My complain would be where are the the individual BR box sets. I kind of don't mine buying them like one at time. Even when it buying like say three at a time at $12.99-14.99 each at sale price. But with the individual BR box sets, it might be $5-10 cheaper at sale price. I'm not piss off or anything. Just that it would be nice for people who don't want to even pay the sale price of the whole complete BR box set at Best Buy, Target, FYE, Barnes And Noble, Costco and Frys.

You CAN buy them individually - through WalMart they are only $9.99 each...

Is it me or is this not actually that much of an improvement on the DVD version. I mean sure, it's a little bit sharper - but.... Disappointing!

I checked Best Buy's site earlier and it also $149. They might have it on their sunday paper ad. I wonder what is Costco's price for the Blu-ray set .

What do you all think will be the price come Black Friday later this year, the same or some what cheaper say $99.99-124.99 area. That depending on the big chain store of course. Do you think the big retailers even want to have a Black Friday sale on the Blu-ray set at all.

Not sure if this was posted, but Amazon has also price matched at $149.99. If you ordered before 9/20/12 you will get the Bond posters book. This was confirmed with an Amazon customer service rep...

The set is $115.99 at Target this week.

I'm still confused as to the content. I have the 4 Ultimate Edition box sets, and the 3-disc edition of Casion Royale. What does this box have (besides higher definition) that those sets don't as far as special features. Also, if I were to buy them separately and gradually on Bluray would I still be missing something from this set?

So what are sale prices for the first week release of the Blu-ray box set and the UE box set(for that still don't have Blu-ray player) at each of the big chain retailers and whole sale warehouses?

I ordered it in April. I just re-checked my open orders in my amazon profile and it does not show the poster book. Can you pm the email from Amazon rep?

The screenshot comparions up there are gorgeous. I am very happy with the treatment GE has received. Great picture quality, no cropping and the original subtitles reinstated.

I haven't seen the new transfers myself, but GoldenEye easily has gotten the worst transfer. Yes, they fixed the cropping issues (still there on AVTAK though) but they sadly applied heavy DNR and many details have been lost in the process. There's even a frame where you can see how GE could have looked without the use of DNR. http://www.screensho...mparison/147158

Once someone has the Blu Ray collection, perhaps they can let us know about the SKYFALL video blog selection and whether it has the full complement plus extra ones that haven't been released to the general public yet? :)

Thread for discussing the video blogs is here if so: http://debrief.comma...ll-video-blogs/
