Classic Bentley, just like in Fleming's novels.
Would you rather have
A period piece adaptation of Silverfin
OR
A Carte Blanche adaptation set in modern times?

A Carte Blanche adaptation set in modern times - that was a decent little story so would like it to see it in modern times.
The rumour of a "classic henchman" for 'Bond 24' - what will we get:
Good intention, but it will be another Patrice or even Mr Stamper; under-used or over-cooked and hammy
OR
A real draw back to the malicious, threatening and dominant henchman of the classic era all through the film#
??

Good intention, but it will be another Patrice or even Mr Stamper; under-used or over-cooked and hammy. My feeling is that it'll be another attempt to top Red Grant (or Oddjob) and will just come off as another cheap imitation. Erich Kriegler anyone?
Bond 24:
High tech spy thriller
OR
High action thriller
?
Posted 13 October 2014 - 01:37 PM
High action thriller please - we had a lot of tech based narrative with 'Skyfall' and it proposed more questions than answered (to the picky ones anyway).
In 'Bond 24' do you think the plot will revolve around...
Bond having to protect someone
OR
Bond not knowing who to trust
??
Posted 13 October 2014 - 04:47 PM
I'd prefer it if were Bond protecting someone..although both scenarios have been done quite a lot.
Dave Bautista as the henchman in Bond 24... YAY, NAY, OR WHO THE HELL IS HE?
Posted 13 October 2014 - 07:20 PM
Yay! Love Batista! One of my favorite wrestlers and I think he'll do a fine job.
Will they keep the aforementioned name of "Hinx" for Batista's character:
Yes or no ?
Posted 14 October 2014 - 07:19 AM
First think I thought of was Jinx...but that's a memory easily quashed, so I don't see why not!
Will there be a visual nod to Judi Dench in 'Bond 24'?
YES - Like Bernard Lee in 'TWINE', a portrait or picture will be on show in the film and she will be referenced
OR
NO - Times change, people move on. MI6 don't need to continue gushing after a fallen colleague 4 years on
??
Posted 14 October 2014 - 12:34 PM
Yes, like Bernard Lee in TWINE, she will be referenced. Maybe we'll see that 'bloody' bulldog on Bond's desk....
More exotic African locale for Bond:
Morocco
OR
South Africa
?
Posted 14 October 2014 - 01:30 PM
I think Morocco. Very charming to the eye.
What plan would you like the villain of 'Bond 24' backing...
His sect instigated the Ebola outbreak to throw countries into chaos, leaving them open for economical and political ruin
OR
Manipulating the stock market to bring down powerful countries and letting him acquire lots of dangerous property / assets
??
Posted 14 October 2014 - 04:29 PM
Hmm..have to go with the plan of instigating the Ebola virus outbreak...It certainly is relevant with current times and would be a nice nod to Blolfeld's "Viris Omega" operation in OHMSS..
Say Bond were to commandeer an ordinary public transport vehicle for a chase sequence in Bond 24 (assuming his Aston is either not in range or has been crashed).. Should it be a taxi cab OR a bus (where we could perhaps have a sort of Live And Let Die sequence, i,e, skidding and spinning the bus around 360 degrees..)?
Posted 14 October 2014 - 05:58 PM
A taxi, buses have been done to death. Archer had a car chase in a bus.
Scarier potential real-world plot for Bond 24:
Ebola outbreak
OR
ISIS threat
?
Posted 15 October 2014 - 07:11 AM
Ebola outbreak - terrorism is the easier option for villainy. A virus outbreak is less heard of, and harder to stop, and thus scarier with it creeping into countries.
Who would you like to record the theme for 'Bond 24' in the pool of people-who-never-will-record-a-Bond-theme-but-you-can-dream:
David Bowie
OR
Andrea Bocelli
??
Posted 15 October 2014 - 01:42 PM
David Bowie. Ziggy Stardust doing a Bond theme... my brain wouldn't be able to take it!
Which type of equipment would Q be more likely to give to 007 in Bond 24:
new Aston Martin with "optional extras"
OR
concealed gadget (ex. watch, belt, etc.) ?
Posted 15 October 2014 - 02:46 PM
Seems to be the concealed gadget is more "real" these days, so I go for that.
Which Bond girl was, on the whole, rather disappointing...
Natalya Siminova in 'GoldenEye'
OR
Camille Montes in 'Quantum Of Solace'
??
Posted 15 October 2014 - 04:44 PM
Both were quite good in my opinion...perhaps Camile, slightly..
What do you think the running time of Bond 24 will be... approx. 2 and 20 minutes (the same as Skyfall and Casino Royale), or slightly shorter like Quantum of Solace, which came in just under 2 hours?
Posted 15 October 2014 - 07:50 PM
Slightly shorter like Quantum of Solace. Craig has already had 2 behemoths, so a shorter adventure would be nice.
Boat chase in Bond 24:
Yay
OR
Nay
?
Posted 15 October 2014 - 08:34 PM
Nay. The subpar effort in QOS is still fresh in my mind.
Will Batista be given a "defining feature" for his henchman role:
Y/N ?

Probably not - but I hope we are proved wrong, I don't want just another heavy in a suit. Give us something like Zao in a better film and I'll be happy. That's how a classic Bond henchman should look - but everything else about him was naff.
On the subject of Zao from 'Die Another Day', was he -
Full of promise with his classic look and evil attitude, but wasted in a bad film
OR
Out of place and not very interesting after the initial introduction
??

Out of place and not very interesting after the initial introduction.
Mathis' death in Quantum of Solace:
Waste of a good character as he cannot appear again
OR
Necessary for Bond's character arc
?
Posted 16 October 2014 - 01:26 PM
Waste of a character. It would have been nice to use him like the novels did on a few occasions - popping up every now and then to provide assistance.
If Bond were to attend a sporting event in America, which would it be:
American football
OR
basketball
OR
baseball ?
Posted 16 October 2014 - 04:35 PM
Given that we've already had football be part of a major event in The Dark Knight Rises, I'd like to see James Bond at an NBA game..
Do you think we'll get some nice shots of the Colosseum during the car chase in Rome in Bond 24? Yes or No?
Posted 16 October 2014 - 06:46 PM
Yes, but not in a "Lookie here!" sort of way. Just in the background and visible.
Better mid-film death of a lesser Bond girl:
Paula Caplan in TB
OR
Plenty O'Toole in DAF
Posted 16 October 2014 - 07:08 PM
Paula. She meant more to the story, although they were both pretty useless.
Less subtle double entendre:
I thought Christmas only comes once a year
OR
Call it a hint of bigger things to come
?
Posted 17 October 2014 - 04:46 PM
(eh, where does that second one come from??)
Definitely the "Christmas" double entendre...
Robert Davi as Emilio Largo in TB or Adolpho Celi as Franz Sanchez in LTK?
Posted 17 October 2014 - 05:58 PM
Davi as Largo. The man is such a terrific actor. Plus, seeing him in an eye patch would be grand!
Better lair:
Dr. No or Scaramanga ?
Posted 17 October 2014 - 06:44 PM
(eh, where does that second one come from??)
It's the final line of Everything or Nothing, the game.
Dr. No. Love the finale at crab key.
Christopher Lee as Blofeld
OR
Telly Savalas as Scaramanga
?
Posted 20 October 2014 - 04:57 PM
Telly Savalas as Scaramanga....would have been very interesting!
Say we get a unique rendition of the Bond theme in Bond 24...which particular instrument should play the main theme...a alpenhorn (sort of a tribute to the main instruments of OHMSS) or a Glockenspiel ??
Posted 23 October 2014 - 07:11 AM
Can't beat that dangerous sound from a alpenhorn!
Will 'Bond 24' make the Top Three highest grossing films of 2015?
YES - Superheroes and adaptations aren't the ONLY big pulling powers!
OR
NO - The big name blockbusters and stars will dominate!
??
Posted 23 October 2014 - 01:07 PM
No, 2015 is too stacked. Bond 24 will do fine, but I doubt it'll make it that high.
Directors for the rest of the decade:
Sam Mendes will continue, the 2010s belong to him as the '80s belonged to John Glen
OR
Someone else will take over following Bond 24 and Mendes will be finished with Bond
?
Posted 24 October 2014 - 07:26 AM
I'm going to be brave and hope for the golden era of a director sticking with the team for a journey - Sam Mendes will stay on for another Bond.
Is 'From Russia With Love' the best Connery Bond film?
YES - A real Cold War thriller, dangerous and exciting with just enough 007 flavour without ruining it
OR
NO - It's well based, but lacks the fundamental Bond elements and just needed a bit more
??
