Lovely dam burst of pictures.

Have we gotten any confirmation on "Patrice" as Rapace's character name? He seems to be showing up everywhere, suggesting a bigger role than I was expecting. He was in China collecting the suitcase from Severine, and here he is on a motorcycle in Turkey.

Like the British bulldog on M's desk!

Notice she's wearing a microphone, too.

This one definitely looks like a screen grab.

anyone guessing that Bond firing the machine gun is a skyfall lodge at Silva guards? the background seems have some smoke or something

Definitely the lodge, and either at the guards or Silva himself. I think Bond is wearing army fatigues from WWII. I could be wrong though, and it could simply be a beat up jacket. It looks old, though.

I noticed the jacket as well. Something about it looks "antique", like it's made of coarse wool.

I love the jacket! Also, it's nice to see Bond firing a machine gun! Been a while.

Is that the correct form to hold a machine gun? Doesn´t the cartridge get hot?

Best. Day. Ever!

Up until today the behind the scenes of this film have been really boring! Now that's no knock against EON, as it's a good thing we haven't learnt much about the film. But still, getting all these pictures at once is really exciting, I literally had a huge grin on my face looking at all of them.

well, the cartridge won't get hot at all and the reason why he's holding the machine gun that way is that he probably needs to reload his gun very fast especially in this firefight. That's what I remember from my military service...

I can safely say I haven't felt this excited over pics since the first images of Bond in Casino Royale dropped. I still remember seeing the one of him in Madagascar aiming at Mollaka and taking aim in Dyden's office for the first time. These echo of that.

Really? That was four years ago, how can you be so sure?

But to be fair, I'm not sure any pictures from that film sparked the same kind of feeling I'm geting from looking at these. I'm betting it's because of the longer gap between films than last time.

He's holding the magazine, not the cartridge, and no, it does not get hot.
Several different ways to "properly" hold a sub-machine gun, depending on ones (00) training.

Lets just say I wasn't grinning madly and making incomprehensable noises when I saw the Quantum pictures as much as I was when I saw the DB5 and Bond firing the machine gun tonight.

Nah, it´s always the same thing: Bond is Back!!! WOW!!! This will be the best ever!!! This movie will be epic!!! ...no matter how long the gap between films. That being said...

Bond is Back!!!WOW!!!This will be the best ever!!!This movie will be epic!!!

...on another note. That bulldog on M´s desk just made my day. Cinematography looks excelent. Bond wears a prince of wales suit at some point, good show, echoes GF. All and all, what a wonderful way to spend one´s Birthday eve. Thank you EON.

I think there were a lot of images from the Quantum production that garnered real enthusiasm. The shot of Bond in the brown suit on the plane with the martini glass, the shot of Bond in shades outside of the run down hotel in Bolivia, and the shot of Bond cradling Camille in the fire while taking aim, and the shot of Bond standing in the desert with the pistol by his side were all genuinely exciting shots to see, as was that first one of him in the bell tower looking up. The pictures for Skyfall are similarly exciting, as all Bond related imagery is, but there definitely seems to be something else to them that the Quantum ones lacked but the Royale ones maintained. These are very modern, very compelling, and very cool. They give off a good vibe. We'll see, but I'm eager to see these guys in motion.

I agree Matt. Plus, these pictures are wide shots mostly which convey an epic feel to the piece. Take the shot of Severine or the one of Bond on the roof. They just screem epic Bond to me. And it seems there´s a newly reborn british identity feel to it too. I´m loving it all so far. The Eve and Patrice pictures are the only ones that aren´t really doing anything to me right now. I´m anxious to see Finney in character.

I recall genuine enthusiasm for Quantum. If there hadn't been genuine enthusiasm, there wouldn't have been genuine disappointment. It's encouraging to note the differences between Quantum and SF: a wider variety of locations, and the appearance of equal parts glamour and grime (whereas QOS leaned pretty heavily on the dismal). It looks like it's going to be a bigger, broader film than QOS.

The Patrice one left me lukewarm largely because I was hoping to see a deranged henchman, and instead he appears to be your standard well dressed assassin. I'm sure in context he'll be fine, but for now it's a bit up in the air. I love the shot of Eve, though. I'm really looking forward to seeing Harris in action. What bodes well for this one is that it seems like it'll have a strong subplot, which should keep things interesting even when Bond is not in a particular scene, a bit of a weakness with Quantum of Solace (that Haitian dock scene is boring), and I agree with Pussfeller in that the locations seem more varied, and the tone of the images is not all grit and grain. There is genuine beauty and a taste of the high life on display here. I keep going back to the pool image. It was a good representation of what we'd be getting, something a bit dark and introspective, but also beautiful and well lit. There was equal enthusiasm for the last film, but hindsight is 20/20, and the images we got back then did not have remotely the same weight that these seem to.
