It looks like Skyfall is going to be more gore-ish than the other Bond films, judging on the poor fellows who had their face cut!

I really doubt that we're going to see that rather horrible cheek injury clearly in the finished film (instead, the guy will probably be in the background of the scene and glimpsed only very fleetingly looking this way), because I'd find it hard to believe that SKYFALL would get the 12A certificate its makers are doubtless aiming for if it featured such extreme gore in close up the way the set photo does. It's somewhat more realistic and bloody than Two-Face's appearance in THE DARK KNIGHT.

I wonder what happened to them though, and how it relates to the scene. But I do agree with the fact that I won't be shown as close as we have it, goes to show how realistic makeup can look!

Since Judi Dench was on-scene, how about an attempt on her life that involves the villains staging a mutli-car pile-up to try and kill her? That would explain the variety of injuries the extras have. Of course that's very similar to the content of the theatrical trailer that was recently released for another action-film franchise ...

Interesting - Dench is in the Jag, and we know Craig is in the Range Rover.

I wonder, could this scene be less of a chase and more of an attempt on M's life? early reports suggested a chase where Bond switched from one vehcile to the other. Perhaps he has to take control of the Jag to get M out of danger.

In some of the pics the grey haired man is in the passenger seat, in some it's Tanner. So I'm guessing something happens there.

Overall it all looks very cool and dramatic.

So, piecing together all the photos from yesterday, it looks to me as though a sequence was shot which goes something like this:

A motorcade of a few vehicles passes through the arches of Smithfield Market before passing through fortified gates with armed guards, and descending down a slope (in reality, the entrance to West Smithfield car park) into some sort of secure bunker/headquarters. An unshaven Bond, Tanner and another agent are in the Range Rover, with M in the Jaguar.

Maybe that's why there is a motorcade in the first place. There is an attack in London, and the security of MI6 is compromised, so M and a few key personnel are escorted to the bunker.

Alternatively, the villains attack the motorcade, causing a traffic accident to block their path. The injured victims are a part of the crash, thereby explaining their range of injuries.

Yeah, it's a bit hard to tell with all the reflection. That might be an injury on Bond's forehead ... or it might just be his hairline.

It may not be some kind of underground bunker. It may just be a car park. The early reports of the scene suggested that Bond would drive both a Jaguar and a Range Rover over the course of the sequence. I think that maybe London and/or MI6 comes under attack, and M is rushed out of there, trying to get to a secure location. When the motorcade itself comes under attack, and possibly gets split up (Bond's driver might get killed, forcing him to take the wheel), they decide to regroup at the carpark, where Bond switches to the Jaguar and has to get M out of the city or to the secure location.

If so, I guess that the scenes shot might be taking place after a major terrorist attack in London, with M and Bond being brought to safety in an underground facility?

No, its just reflections. I made the red circles to show, that his hair is going beneath what looks like a bandage on first view and also, what could be blood. Its not - just reflections...

Well, what if that suggests Bond is captured and escapes by jumping into M's car. Everyones been assuming that Bond was jumping into a jag to give chase. What if it was the other way round, M chasing Bond to rescue him.

It's just neat to see Bond (presumably) on another undercover op akin to what we saw in Madagascar in Casino Royale. Great pictures. Avoiding spoilers where I can but I'm really excited for this one.

For what it's worth, apparently the filming shown in the picture I posted earlier today was not for SKYFALL. I'm going to head down to Smithfield tomorrow to see if the original date of November 7th was accurate or not.

I'll be more excited when I actually see Craig in action, but this is a pretty excellent first step. I'm really way more excited to see photos from when the production moves to China.
