Every time I see this thread updated, I keep thinking it's the teaser poster.

I was thinking the same :)
Thought that someone finally posted the teaser poster, lol

Possibly, yes. Bond appears to be dressed similarly. Alternatively, the scene follows the Shanghai action and that set is the Macau hotel room.

I don't think it can be the Macau hotel room. The unusual shaped tower in the cityscape in the bottom photo is the Oriental Pearl Tower which is in Shanghai.
I think both photos do indeed show the Shanghai office and the one follows the other from the same scene.

I’d say that
Spoiler

Ah, I was referring to the silhouetted image of Bond from Empire as possibly being set in Macau. The two neon backdrops will almostly certainly be from the Shanghai office, yes. :)

Sorry about that, got confused as to which 2 images there. :)

But I think that glass door and glass screen in the Empire image (as well as the costume) also says the office building and not the hotel.

The purpose of a Teaser Poster is to begin the wait, actually. ;)

The "kill" being Bond's suspected death at the end of the pre-titles presumably...

Interesting to note that this is further second unit work directed by Alexander Witt. I believe all of the previous clapperboards have been Sam Mendes' main unit.

An upside down clapperboard is used to denote an end board, that’s a clapperboard at the end of a shot not the beginning. Here I think it might be a wink to it being the last clapperboard photo.

Good point. I think you're right.

Well, for my part, I've enjoyed the online clapperboards. I hope they return for future movies.

Yes, I think it’s been a fun and enigmatic way to signpost us through the production.

I've been a big fan of the clapperboard photos. I also hope they bring it back. Makes nice use of their social media sites, as well.

That's not the way it is. Severine paid Patrice to kill someone else. She's not the one in danger here.

Shrublands is right. Patrice kills someone IN Sévérines apartment, but not Sévérine.

Well, I guess Severine is bad then. I was hoping she was kind of ambiguous but good like Lupe in LICENCE TO KILL...

Hmm...from her blog and interviews, I have always had a Xenia-type character in mind. She is deadly, but not in an obvious way and she can get close to Bond, but is he strong enough to resist?

And as we have our 'good' Bond girl with Eve, I think Severine was either going to be all bad, or bad/confused-turned-good...but if that happens, mostly those sort of girls don't live to see the credits in Bond-world, like Tilly Masteron to some extent, Rosie Carver, MayDay, Vesper...?!

Agreed. Which is why Lupe was such a rarity. In the rules of Bondverse, she should've died, but they let her live. Hopefully,
if Severine is bad and turns good, she will be allowed to exit stage left still breathing. Not hopeful, though... : (

I think the days of the hollowed out volcano and the ultimate space based super weapon are over for this franchise. I don't think it's a bad thing as long as future films balance realism with the appealing and timeless elements of the franchise.

Don't bet on it. The history of the Bond franchise shows an arc after every few movies. Wilson and Broccoli know what they are doing as Cubby taught them well. Just when you make a hollowed out volcano movie you change it up and make OHMSS. Than you send Bond to outer space and than counter with FYEO. DAD was another one that pushed the boundaries and than they came back to earth with CR. So perhaps with Craig we will always see some realism but rest assured that the future of James Bond movies will still one day have subs eating subs or hollowed out volcanos.

The world has changed and past patterns and trends can't necassarily be used to predict those of the future; I'd also argue that what you seem to regard as variety were in fact acts of desperation and a lack of clear direction - Broccoli wasn't a film producer he was an old school business man who had little grasp of the creative side of filmaking or what was popular with current audiences; these things were provided by Saltzman and Terence Young and the series rapidly deteriotated without their influence and whatever he taught his daughter and step-son, we're only still here today because they chose to unlearn them following the Brosnon films (or that the balance of power has shifted from Michael to Barbara).

Learn to read, you idiots. He was referring to Brosnon Armfield, you know this guy. That was back when Babs Broccoli got carried away with political correctness.
