I believe it was Bond's father's house, but you're right that the house ("Skyfall Lodge"?) is likely to have some personal significance for Bond.

Parking was suspended outside the Corinthia Hotel on Whitehall Place when I was there this morning, so guess they're either shooting there, outside the Department of Energy & Climate or on the approach to the Ministry of Defence.

Interesting that the sequence appears to take in four stations along the District line - Temple, Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster. It must be quite complex, with Bond and Silva jumping on and off trains.

I've only just worked that loads of extras are running out of the underground station and that's why the ambulances are there.

"That's a wrap" were his exact words, the *****. Oh and its charing cross station but they've changed it to embankment. #realism
