It seems that during an interview yesterday, she’s promoting her new film, she was asked about the News of the World story and she confirmed that she was in talks with the Bond people about a part, but would not reveal anything else.

That article's somewhat misleading. The source who spoke to her never said she was offered a role in the film, just that she'd talked to the producers, or whoever.

I hope if true its not as the main Bond girl, I just dont find her all that attractive. Granted, they went out of their way to make her ugly in Pirates, but still, shes a bit ordinary.

I wonder if this is the same role that was offered to Esti Ginzberg, but I doubt it. It would be interesting if this was for the main Bond girl, since Harris is British. No Brit has been the premiere Bond girl since Maryam D'Abo in The Living Daylights, and she played a Russian.

Edit: And before that, it was Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die! And before that, it was Diana Rigg and Honor Blackman.

So Harris would be only the fifth British actress to be a lead Bond girl out of 23 movies...

Now I'm in statistics mode..

Hardly. Until such time as someone from EON are actually quoted saying "Yes, she's in the film", this is all just wild speculation. It's very easy for tabloids to make up non-existant 'sources' within EON to 'confirm' something that they've just fabricated. They do it all the time. The difference is that this time, someone fell for it.

If this ends up happening I'll be pleased. She's talented, and that accent she employed in the Pirates films (though the chances of her adopting it again are miniscule at best, I know) is one of the sexiest I've heard. Right up there with Irish.
