Actually, yes. (Sarcasm)
Well, that's OK then.
In all seriousness, any Bond director is going to have at least 4 or 5 characters already cast, and in Nolan's case he and his wife have been producers on their last few films and they made them under the Syncopy banner, which allowed them to wield considerable power at all levels. That's not the case with a Bond film. Nolan would lose a lot of his scripting clout, and casting clout. He would have have a say and he would be able to use "his" people (although Pfister is moving on and I'd hope he'd use Julyan rather than Zimmer for some weird reason), but I think a percentage of the grievances people are having would be moot given the circumstances.

A fan of what, Nolan?
Let's see ever since The Dark Knight, Nolan's fan base has their heads so far up hisit crazy (not saying you do) Memento is fantastic, great performances by Joe Pantoliano and Guy Pearce. The Prestige is good, but not a masterpiece. Inception, I like it, but it gets WAY To much credit and it's only a good for one or two play-throughs.
The Dark Knight Is a good film, but it's quite "meh". The Dark Knight Rises is a joke.
Completely agree. Except that I think even The Dark Knight is highly overrated.

I would love to see Christopher Nolan do one, but would he be willing to relinquish the creative control he usually has on his films? From what I understand, Wilson and Broccoli actually have final cut on a Bond movie, and I don't know if Nolan's the kind of cat who'd willingly give up that priviledge...

Vaughn has withdrawn from directing X-Men: Days of Future Past.
My thoughts immediately went to EON having approached him. I wouldn't argue.
You know, I'm not as hot on Vaughn directing a Bond film as I am for Craig and Vaughn re-teaming for the LAYER CAKE sequel, VIVA LA MADNESS.

Matthew Vaughn - just watch Daniel Craig in Layer Cake or Michael Fassbender in First Class and tell me he'd not make a cracking Bond.
Edgar Wright - strip away the comedy and he knows how to make action fly. Ant-Man will prove a fair bit here but he could grow into being suitable.
Martin Campbell - hell I'd let him do whatever Bond he wanted by now!
Oh and one day I want Sam Mendes back too - he's now in the pantheon of great Bond directors.

Wyatt not directing the sequel 'Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes', Matt Reeves is, which I may see now that Reeves is doing it. 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' is on my list of Most Hated 2011 Films. Hopefully Dawn Is Better
I didn't care for it either. I didn't mind the acting (Serkis was good as Caesar and I didn't mind Franco, Pinto, and Lithgow), but I agree on the rest of it.
I didn't know that Reeves was on board for the second one. That's great news. I loved Let Me In, and Cloverfield was an impressive feature film debut as well.

Matthew Vaughn would be superb.
He may not be on X-men anymore but the rumor mill is spreading about him directing another long-standing franchise:

Damn, Disney just bought the thing last week!

Agreed, though I don't think he should strip too much of the comedy away.
My choices are:
Danny Boyle
Brad Bird
Alex Cox
Coen Bros
Edgar Wright
David O Russell
Joe Cornish

Brad Bird did a good job on MI:4, but would prefer him to get a few more live-action films done, before any consideration for him to direct a future Bond Film.
Edgar Wright would be another good choice, big fan of his work.
Coen Brothers could do a good job on a Bond film.
David O Russell is good as well.
The rest, just not to familiar with, sorry gents.
