The score for 'Batman Begins' is truly beautiful. 'The Dark Knight' is fantastic and has a very dark, and sometimes scary feel with the theme for The Joker. 'The Dark Knight Rises' on the other hand had this very "Loud is better!" feel to it and at time similar 'Inception'. I do like 'Gotham's Reckoning', the theme for Bane, that's truly a big, menacing, theme for a big, menacing man.

I think the score for TDKR was weaker because it didn't have the input of James Newton Howard.

That could be it. The 'Batman Begins' soundtrack was the best out of the three. Jokers theme in 'TDK' is also great, that increasing electronic whine sound with the thunderous drums was a great motiff for a villain, and like you say 'TDKR' was loud and noisy to complement the film.

I hope Superman has an theme that is used over the course of the film a couple of times so we know it's "his" so to speak. It's always exciting waiting to hear how a film and character is to be represented via music, the most powerful tool in cinema I think.

Agreed. While the suit makes the character, its the theme that truly bring its full circle and brought to life.

At least the suit is holding up well to make him Superman...

I like the "S" Shield, I think it looks really good, however The overall design, I don't like. I don't like the darker shade of blue (probably to show the whole "Darker costume means darker film" look. I've also heard the in most of the scenes, his cape is CGI'ed, another thing that really annoys me.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually like this suit more.

The muscle-toned armor-suit would have worked - but with Cage? Not with this hairstyle, at least.

And I must say: although I was disappointed first that the MAN OF STEEL suit does not come with additional short trousers (the traditionalist in me...) I do welcome the change now. It does look a bit weird these days. A full spandex suit is clearly enough.

Considering the cape being CGI - I believe this is a practical decision for all the action and flying sequences. I understand the real cape during the first films was always a huge problem because it either hang stiffly around or fluttered over the head or let the actors stumble. In the film, the CGI cape will look very real.

I can understand that choice for a CGI cape, but hope it's not too obvious. I mean, if Superman can't handle his cape too well in the fighting scenes, just don't have it! Bad fashion choice for a superhero I think, the cape.

I'm sure it will look good, used in the right context. I suppose that lends true to the set pictures with Superman in suit, sans cape.

But I also am confident that the shots WITH the cape, he does look pretty darn good!

And looks to be more motion-capture suited Zod in the background here with Faura (sp!)

The suit would work better on Cavill, since he's much more muscular. I just hope the CGI cape will look good, and not obvious CGI.

I bet Batman had a CGI cape at times during his sequences in Nolan's trilogy during those flight/fight scenes but I never could tell (except when Batman himself was obviously CGI due to a large scale stunt/fall) so it could be ok.

Saying that, 'Man Of Steel' will be, I assume, shot more in daylight than the dark night of the Dark Knight trilogy. (Another pun intended)

Well, I'm rather enjoying this hefty Superman/Dark Knight debate! :D

It´s not that the cape will be CGI the whole time - only in the flying sequences, I guess.

I believe the Nolan films always had Batman with the cape, unless there was some sort of CGI Batman being used :D

I know the cape in 'Man Of Steel' will be CGI for fight scenes and flying etc, but I just hope it's done right.

Looks more like James Bond on Halloween.

Nothing has wowed me. The trailers, photos, tv spots, posters, NOTHING. I only feel inclined to see it because of Zack Snyder, but I'm already considering passing on this until DVD time.

The final trailer for 'Man Of Steel' and THIS thing gave me a shiver. It looks stunning and beautiful and I really believe this will be the film that brings Superman back to life!

Henry Cavill seems perfect, and hope it continues during the final film. General Zod appears, briefly, but feel he's going to be a dangerous villain. Love the support from Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Amy Adams.

"What's the 'S' stand for?"

"It's not an 'S'. On my world it means hope.

"Well here it's an S. How about...Su..."

"Excuse me."

:D

Regarding the new trailer for 'Man Of Steel', Anticipation Level -  0

The thing is, why an origin story. Superman, like Batman, is a story we all know. I haven't been impressed or wow'd by posters, tv spots, trailers, anything. It's disappointing because I always love this character a lot. As a massive fan of Snyder, I still feel inclined to see it, however, I just don't feel anything for this already.

Why an origin story? Because it is a re-imagined version of the whole story. Because it re-introduces the character to a new audience.

Anticipation level - 1000.

looks good but Zod's voice is very dissapointingly pedestrian. The villian from Star trek 2.0 sounds like what Zod should should sound  like.

Now I somehow agree there Tarl!

Benedict Cumberbatch has nailed Harrison's voice (if that IS who he's playing!) in the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' trailers - epic villan voice or what?

Saying that, General Zod in 'Superman 2' played by Terence Stamp was very pedestrian too, more so, but had super-powers and a good script to make him memorable. I suppose coming from Krypton, if Kal-El and Jor-El speak normally, then Zod is going to have to speak normal to as they are all on the same level - but I reckon his deeds will make him very memorable in the film!

I just feel so much more comfortable after these trailers how it's shaping up and that Superman is going to take his place back with the might of superheros on film after so long.

I don´t know if "pedestrian" is the right word here. And personally, I found Shannon very intimidating, more aggressive and impulse-driven than Cumberbatch´s elegant, well-thought out menace.

I'm refering to the voice only. Shannon looks very scary and evil but just doesn't sound elegently evil, like say, Darth Vader or Terence Stamp's Zod.
