I guess WONDER WOMAN is extremely tricky to do (look at the maligned tv show-pilot last year). The costume is just too cheesy for today´s audiences. But if you change it you will make the fans crazy.

Also... an amazon with an invisible fighter jet?

You would have to reimagine everything for it to work, I guess.

Yeah but I feel like if anyone could tackle it, it could be Joss Whedon, I feel like since he is really good at developing female characters he could do this.

I wish fans would not get so angry.. I think that her outfit should be revamped. I mean she is a sexy individual they definitely could change her outfit and still make her sexy. just saying.

It'd be great to see a female superhero given a good-shot on screen, taking away those minimal efforts like 'Aeon Flux' and what-not.

Looking forward to seeing how Amy Adams is as Lois Lane. I thought Kate Bosworth was horribly mis-cast.

I don't think I have seen the new Lois Lane yet, shes cute and obsessively good looking. Sorry for being a nahsayer but that Super pose looks a little corny to me.

Thanks for re-posting PPK!

Clone stamp is a tool in photoshop/image editing software which copies a background colour when clicked on and pastes it to a location of your choosing. In your case, it looks like you used it to clone the grey background colour of the image, and copied it over the 'Total Film' masthead and surrounding text to 'clean up' the image. You did a good job i thought!

But you didn't use it?

Oh I see, no I didn't use it! I just searched for this new image via Google and found this pic, so used it as I thought it was good without the full text.

Now you mention it, I can see the editing behind Supermans hair, it's fuzzed out too much.

If Superman doesn't soar in 'Man Of Steel' and wins the world fans and critics, he's doomed.

Here's an updated official image from EMPIRE Online with just Superman and Lois, and no 'clone stamp'

Have to say Lois Lane does look rather yummy - a perfect match I think for Superman, unlike Bosworth.

If anything, it'd be nice to see someone older in a role like this rather than populated full of youngsters for that 'new generation' audience.

And Amy Adams is 38, so that's perfect. Margot Kidder was 30 when she first appeared in 'Superman' back in '78. Teri Hatcher was 29 in the TV series 'Lois & Clark'. Adams is the oldest, but I think that will give her a stronger character as Lois Lane, and she looks great anyway.

But I didn't know Kate Bosworth was 23 in 'Superman Returns'. Now THAT is too young for a role like Lois Lane.

I mean back when he was consider to be 007, he was what 23? he would way too young to be playing him should be someone older......now he would be good 007 but I think that still possible if he do not establish as being superman......he probably won't beat christopher Reeves as the original superman

I agree - Christopher Reeve IS Superman, in front and behind the camera.

Brandon Routh did a super (no pun intended) effort, but was bogged down by the film being a homage to the series rather than a step forward. I would easily have seen him back under the right direction.

Henry Cavill, I admit I've never seen his work before, but am willing to give him a chance stepping into the biggest intergalactic boots in cinema, and from what I've seen/heard, he is shaping up well.

I was reluctant as a kid to see 'Superman Returns' because of Routh, but I loved it and thought he did a superb job. I liked how it was carrying on from 'Superman II' and not just a new film. The series had been ruined from 'Superman III' and 'Superman IV: Quest For Peace', '...Returns' was perfect.

Cavill, I don't really like. He's just not that good of an actor. He doesn't look like Clark Kent/Superman.

This is one of those rare moments where I say this: Let the franchise be over. Why? In my opinion the franchise ended on a high note with 'Superman Returns' and, again, made up for 3 & 4. I know Warner Bros. wants a new film, but I just don't like what I've seen from photos and trailers for 'Man Of Steel'. I don't like Christopher Nolan's involvement at all and the casting is pretty mediocre.

I would have easily championed a sequel to 'Superman Returns' - that had one of the greatest teaser trailers ever for a film IMO!

I love Superman, the magic of seeing a man fly when I was a child watching 'Superman' on TV one day captivated me. The heroic things he did, the rousing music, the fantastical action. It had that also in 'Superman Returns', I just feel it could have gone a little further, and I will get stoned for this, but casting Kevin Spacey didn't win me over. He was ok, but not needed for a villain. But he worked it, and it paid off.

I fear the franchise is now on a knife-edge after the luke-warm reception to 'Superman Returns' from critics and fans after the hype has gone, and if 'Man Of Steel' doesn't propel Superman to the status he deserves, they should let it rest for a while as they need to get this right.

I'm so gutted the John Williams score isn't going to return. I know the character is more than the music, but Superman doesn't seem to be Superman without THAT theme music. I really hope it works....!

I´ve said it many times: I love SUPERMAN RETURNS.

I did not on my first viewing, though. Back then I only liked it but thought the Luthor-angle was been there, done that and his entourage annoying. I also wondered about the third act because I had hoped for something different. But I loved Routh´s portrayal and the action sequences. And, of course, the fact that John Ottman used Williams´ themes for the score.

But on my subsequent viewings I began to really appreciate what Singer had done. It is really a re-boot from SUPERMAN III and IV, going back to the first two films yet being more "realistic" and serious about the emotional complications of being Superman. Having Luthor back actually is a good idea, and Spacey is completely different in it then Hackman. The new Luthor is a really dangerous psychopath, full of hatred. As with Superman, this film is also about Luthor returning.

The film just as well deals with the consequences of Superman´s love for Lois. I always thought the ending of SUPERMAN II rushed the conclusion of that particular relationship. I was wondering: will Lois really not remember? How can he go on working with her, seeing her - he was never portrayed as cold enough for that. So having him encounter his child in SUPERMAN RETURNS actually makes a lot of sense and is very interestingly handled.

Apart from that I loved the idea of a world in which Superman had become known and then disappeared. How would people react? Singer had the right ideas - but it was the wrong timing. BATMAN was the big thing now, and the post 9/11 world was just too cynical for Superman.

I think that MAN OF STEEL mainly has two objectives: to give audiences lots of action and to counter the cynical opinion towards the character - something that the old guard of fans do not have, only young people, not knowing about Superman´s impact. In a way I could imagine the success of THE AVENGERS helping here. I mean, let´s face it: a guy with a hammer and a cape flying around, a green monster, Captain America and so on - these are not really creatures for a cynical viewer. Still, audiences obviously needed lighter-hearted heroes.

And TCR, I know what you mean about Williams´  Superman-theme. But I do think that it would carry too much baggage into MAN OF STEEL. It´s not like the Bond theme, maybe because the Superman theme is so majestic, proud and happy. It will always be one of my most-beloved movie themes. But these days, audiences probably would laugh at it and find it too pompous. Still, I hope that Zimmer will come up with something more memorable than the Batman-droning.

Well I think I'll have to return to 'Superman Returns' (pun intended) as it's probably been around 3 years since I've seen it last with eyes that wanted to like it more than I did - not hating, just feeling a bit empty.

With the 'Man Of Steel' build up, I'm sure my interest will re-ignite for all things super, man.

I agree about your views with the score - that theme is associated with the real iconic moments of Christopher Reeve's Superman portrayal, so maybe something new, for this new take, will be just as iconic I hope. I love a good soundtrack if they nail it. And as you with the new Batman theme being just a blare of fading in and out brass to signify his darker, menacing character, I hope this 'Man Of Steel' theme will represent the adventure, hope, sacrifice and success he represents.

In my opinion, Batman didn't really have a musical theme that was triumphant in The Nolan film. In Burton's two film, he did, but not Nolan's. Superman's on the other hand, John Williams theme is so iconic and memorable, and just simply, beautiful its awe-inspiring. I'm glad Snyder is going with someone like Zimmer instead of his usual composer, Tyler Bates. I'm just worried Zimmer is going to create something that's underwhelming and doesn't simply work, or something that's just too loud and much more reminiscent of his recent work with Nolan (Inception and The Dark Knight Rises).

I agree. The Dark Knight soundtracks work for that film; dark, broody, slightly menacing, dangerous and triumphant but it's not memorable enough to represent a character as much as the Superman theme.

And as the 'Inception' and 'Dark Knight Rises' soundtrack sound very similar in places, I too echo I hope 'Man Of Steel' is totally different, where you may not think when you hear it "Oh that's a Chris Nolan film!" without seeing any footage!
