It was the same with QOS. A five minute PC-only demo you had to win, and everyone thought they were just being coy, then the game arrived...

I don't think I've ever seen a demo for a Wii game. And I would hardly call "solid" praise. It's like telling a fat girl she has nice hair. I also don't see how a demo, i.e playing the game, would spoil any fun. The game is cleary being sold as a license rather than a good game and it needs all the exposure it can get get. A more likely explanation is they don't want people playing and giving a bad name pre-release.

You mean - except the people who have played it at various conventions and have said it's great?

OR you could say that they're comfortable enough with the finished game, and they don't need a demo to put their minds to rest?
Jesus. You're so determined to hate this game. A lot of games don't have Demo's. Did Red Dead Redemption have one? No. It's one of the best games of the year.

I second that as wellI agree with Mharkin on this one. this honestly looks like the Arkham Asylum of Bond games.

But yeah... I would almost bet my house that Blood Stone won't reach the heights of Arkham Asylum. That game won Game of the Year awards.

I actually just bought Arkham Asylum last night. That game is damn thoroughly polished. Possibly one of the best designed, atmospheric franchise installments of anything, ever.

If Blood Stone is anywhere near Arkham, it's a success. By all accounts it's been themed with similar intentions.

I have figure out a way to put a texas hold em mini game in to the game without it affecting the over all game play.

also I should add that there have been a number of games where I was on the fence about getting and made my decision based on a demo. Even more revelant is the fact that I have bought or rented games that were not even on my radar because I enjoyed a free demo so much. outside of this website I havn't seen this game featured anywhere, leading me to believe that no one knows about this game. Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty and Halo games don't need demos because they are front page featured articles on every gaming magazine. A relativly unknown bond game, lying in the shadow of its wii counterpart, could use a demo to help spread the word

Nothing really new, just a thorough article. Interesting bit about one shot equals death in 007 mode. I like that. Check it out if you'd like.

And of course RDR didn;t have a demo. We all knew how it played, it was GTA with horses. And it was Rockstar. The name alone sells the game.
Yes, it DOES look like the Arkham Asylum of Bond games. Because it's using a similar system for camera and they've blantantly stolen the detective vision! Looking like another game isn't a good thing when trying to make a game that should look like Bond, which is the root of most of my problems with the game. No originality, and nothing to set it apart as a Bond game, exactly the wrong path EA went down. Just doing it a bit less crap isn't something we should be happy about.
And before everyone instantly forgets the first paragraph like the psychotic little darlings they are, yes the rest of the game COULD prove me wrong and show some understanding of the property for the first time since The Big G.
But lets face it, it won't.

Music in the game is 'classic Bond?' So, shall we expect quite a bit if Bond theme?

Bloodstone and the new Goldeneye game look pretty promising to me, i am sick of people whining about how Goldeneye feels like call of duty. the only thing i am complaining about is how come there is no music in multiplayer mode? That was one reason why multiplayer was so fun, blowing up your friends with some good old bond music playing ahhh good times. IF they put music in like in the original it would feel more like goldeneye rather than COD. Playing without music is boring to me.
Well the IGN article states at the beginning the music was turned off for their gameplay, but it will be in the game.
...the music has been turned off in the video clips for editing purposes. The final version does have ambient music during online sessions.

They do know that Craig's Bond and his Bond world are the antithesis of Classic movie Bond, right? And that by taking such a route they are deliberately turning their back on a chance to make a proper game representation of the new movies or use the new Bond to his full extent? No? Just gonna slap a new face on the same tired old package and wonder why GE 64 remains the only good Bond game for 13 straight years? I hope not.
