Are you clicking on the photo of Deaver and me? Because I am not having any problems linking to the video. Try refreshing or if that does not work just go into the section called THE QUESTION ROOM. It will have another link inside there.

Yes, going through the Question Room link worked for me.

Wow, wow, WOW! Brillant Doctor S! I can't believe how much info he spilled (I've put a Spoiler warning on this thread now). Love how you put together the video. This is a gift to us Bond fans.

As for the info itself... Hey, I love what I heard.

It certainly sounds exciting, and from what I heard the changes are not to drastic and make logical sense. Not sure about changing May, but then maybe it's a tribute to Fleming’s house keeper in Goldeneye.

It's good to have confirmation about Bond's age, but honestly, there wasn't much shock in any of that news.

My reactions. Aside from a momentary WTF when I think of James Bond being born the 1980s, I love the whole reboot concept and it sounds like they are doing it exactly right. Love that M is going to be a man. Love that Mary Goodnight is in there and 21. Think making May Indian or Pakistani is exactly right. The setup of the OO section sounds cool. It feels new and reinvented but nothing is being betrayed. This is really sounding exciting.

I wonder if this Bond is blonde? Will JD even say?

Also excited to hear we do have "a series" on our hands!

Okay, I missed that news somehow. So I take back some of what I said earlier, as this is interesting news. But, is Deaver saying that there will be a series (as the sidebar says), or is he just speaking hypothetically when he says he'll leave it up to other authors?

I kind of feel like he knows he is launching a new series, setting the rules of this rebooted world.

Shatterhand puts in his sidebar that it's a series by different authors. JD makes a reference to "future authors in the series."

Oh, I think Deaver's few sentences are stuffed to the brim with some terrific news.

- Reboot!

I mean 'reboot'! That in itself is pretty much unheard-of for the series. Think of the consequences. Great! This indeed is a Bond-revolution, something I'd never have thought possible any more.

- 00's are to work under cover

Perhaps the closest to reality the series has ever come with that step. It's one thing to abolish the 00-section as Gardner did, but never pulled through consequently. Having the 00's deniable and well below the radar of the public is far more logical and indeed crucial in a media world such as ours.

- Bond in his 30's

Perfect for the kind of assignments Bond is to face today. Loving it already!

And so on. There is incredibly much to be found in this snippet.

Yes! I love the sound of this. Frankly, I never loved Gardner's abolishing the 00s but Bond would still be M's private 00 agent. Seemed limited and limiting. I think this is the way to go. Modern and cool. "The Double Oh Agent" is back!

Got it, thanks Dr. Shatterhand and terrific interview. That's the first meaty bit of intel we've gotten. Great work!

For anyone who's interested, click on the question room link is another way to access the video.

I think aside from the title, this is all I really wanted to know, and all of it is good news IMO. Great that he has produced an outline and has substantial research. Since he won't be attempting what Faulks did (foolishly) by trying to write the book in the same manner Fleming did, I believe we're in for a much better plotted, meaty, and exciting STORY. He will develop an arc for the character (one hopes) and a learning curve based on Bond's young age. I think we'll see our first athletic Bond since Fleming. This is all very exciting news.

Fantastic news all-round. Everything I hear is exactly what I want.

Present day reboot for audiences of today, fighting the threats of today - terrorism. A fresh 30 year old Bond who does not smoke taking on the world. The old Bond always having to prove his worth baggage is gone. Hell, a lot of baggage is gone.

Supporting characters will be there, some will be rested and others will be done differently - eg, May's role. All set in the usual exotic locations - locations which Deaver has actually been to and researched thoroughly.

Folks, we're in for a treat. This had to happen and I'm glad it is.
