Now that's out of the way, do you WANT Daniel Craig to return as Bond?

Suppose Daniel Craig will be back as 007, for how many films would you wish to see him back?

Should Daniel Craig not return as James Bond, would you want the current timeline continued?

I guess the main problem of Craig´s throwaway comment was that it fit right into the attitude that he conveyed about the role from the start.  "Didn´t want to do it", "only because the script was so good (CR)" and so forth.

Reluctance instead of enthusiasm - that seems to characterize Craig´s Bond outside the films and to a degree within them as well.

Since every star has a PR expert riding their coattails it must be suspected that Craig just did not care about giving a better statement.

And with the kind of money he earned one must ask: why should he?  People will want him back if he can be persuaded, no matter what he says about the role.

Still, I wish the next actor will love to be Bond.  And stay in that role until he´s too old or losing the audience.

True. But finally all the actors - except for Moore and maybe Brosnan - lost their enthusiasm for the role. I think the producers should let him go, if he`s not interested in making another movie anymore. In this case we won`t see Waltz as Oberhauser/ESB again, unfortunately. But on the other hand SPECTRE is a pretty good conclusion for Craigs era.

I can imgaine Ed Stoppard or Matthew McNulty in the role. They`re both very good actors.

I agree he should go if he is unenthusiastic. As is common knowledge in fandom, Barbara Broccoli is/was infatuated with him, and that played a big part in him being offered it in the first place. But it's ten years gone now, and if the guy doesn't want to do it, there shouldn't be too much time and energy spent on convincing him otherwise.

That rumor is rubbish - unless you consider any producer´s love for a successful actor in their franchise is "infatuation".

Please don´t spread this garbage again and again.

I'm just basing it on the evidence. "I'm in love with Daniel Craig!" "i will get on my knees and beg him to do more!", "He's the most gorgeous man in the world!" etc.

I'm not the only one who's said it. I didn't realise there were people who didn't think this.

Erm, I think on closer reflection you will find all kinds of people saying all kinds of stuff - a lot of it being utter rubbish only braindead juveniles without any kind of sexlife - outside their heated imagination - would consider repeating in daylight.

Which is to say...don't sell yourself short, especially not on 'common knowledge'.

And kindly refrain from repeating BS. Since neither of us is Craig or Broccoli the amount of authority regarding such personal affairs is fairly limited.

To the degree of zero.

But you're right, I suppose we can't say one way or the other. .

I don't know why I'm being attacked for it, though.

so...Poldark's second series has just started if anyone wants to get a flavour of what Aidan Turner can do as an actor given his popularity for Bond 7 in the tabloids

I'd be happy with that. If Poldark isn't your cup of tea I'd recomend Being Human as a good demonstration of Aidan Turner's range as an actor as the series often gives him more than a few opportunities to go from glib to tortured in an instant and Turner excels.
