No where near as powerful or professional as the vocals on Rolling in the Deep.
Right behind you on that.

Change the lyrics and get rid of the backing vocals and I'm happy as can be .
That brings it to the point for me. Both thing are utterly annoying about the song. The rest is fine really.

For anyone taking notes: Rihanna, Psy and One Direction took the top three positions.

Woah!! You watched FRWL in the cinema! From someone who can remember seeing "From Russia With Love" in the cinema, I really like this theme song for "Skyfall." It is definately a mood-setter.

Me too. Only it was a rerun in '79 or so.

So do I now
Only seeing 'Die Another Day', 'Casino Royale', and 'Quantum Of Solace' in the theater.
Great thing I have all of them on DVD now though.

Adele has done the job for us, I think, and I can't wait to hear it over the titles sequence.

I've seen every single one in a cinema - the first ten in the same cinema which, inevitably, no longer exists. I think it's a shame that younger audiences have been denied, save for the occasional showing, a view of the Connery/Lazenby/Moore/Dalton films as us old codgers remember them.

I understand most of the older generation dislike it ( I know some younger fan dislike it as well!) or even the idea of madonna doing the song, but hell I think it wasn't too bad.
As for the Adele song, its not perfect, but I really like it, it has a great feel about it from the Connery era.
The back up singing towards the end sounds slightly off and I thought she would possibly unleash her full voice at some point, but she keeps it all pretty low key.
Great voice overall though and love the hint of bond bass line. I don't have a problem with the lyrics like a lot of people. The only part I don't really like is when she says "At Skyfall" it kind of gives away that sky fall is a place... Or just confuses some people.
I think they have done a reasonably good job of concealing the main plot while showing us a hell of a lot of footage, but after looking at the track listing posted here (stupid move) I now pretty much know the what scenes are where and what is going to happen along the way... loosely. But thats what you get for being over eager and watching and finding out about everything you can!

If it's any consolation there is some belief that the tracks are out of order on the soundtrack.

The bass line's the same one from YKMN and AWTD, but transposed up a semitone.

Which, when you consider it has only been released online, just two days before the official chart release, isn't at all bad. Plus heading the iTunes chart in many countries including the UK & US. That said, I wonder if the record might have done even better if it had been released on 1st October, as a CD as well as a download. It was a neat idea to synchronise the release with "James Bond Day" - just a pity it was only two days before the official UK charts release.Adele is No.4 in the Official UK singles chart, meaning that only Duran Duran (No.2) and Madonna (No.3) have done better, so far.
