It's anyones game at the minute I think. The fact we're all thinking it could be Adele as her current success grows on both sides of the Atlantic, it could be just a big dark path we're going on that EON will soon reveal someone we didn't expect!

So many past singers we think could come back, but so many current ones to take the franchise further. I would expect it should be soon...hopefully, as this speculation can only last so long!

I was listening to Emeli Sandé the other day, she might have what it takes. She's Scottish - she she has the British angle - with a strong voice. She may be too R&B, but she can also do soul, which could work for the film.

Apparently, work on the credits sequence to the upcoming James Bond film "Skyfall" has begun.
British model Charlotte Edward tweeted that her friend and fellow model Natasha was shooting the credits sequence to "Skyfall".
If the sequence is filming, we can think that it is filmed on a precise rhythm.
So may be the song is already recorded...
What do you think about it?

maybe she just got the job rather than them actually filming it now- but it is totally possible its all ready and done and they are drip feeding the info- like they did with thomas newman who was likely on board before the official announcement etc...

i still say Adele, if they're going 'in the moment', and she's hot now too. it's kind of a waste to try get contemporary singers, at least here in the u.s. these songs don't get played on the radio anymore anyway. i'm surprised a few people mentioned george michael. i've been listening to some of his old stuff lately. he'd be great too, and it would be cool if the singer was English. i hope the song has more of that 60s feel really. it doesn't have to be a 'love song',, just more in that classic romantic style. shirley bassey-tom jones-nancy sinatra era.

If this is a classic Bond, then a voice like Adele would be well-matched.

But the tone of the teaser trailer makes me think Electronic music.

You can have an electronic backing and Adele's voice. It doesn't have to be pseudo-60s.

Hey, good point. That would be an interesting combination.

Band wise, I've always thought The Killers could come up with something memorable but I doubt they'd ever be chosen.

As it's the 50th, the timing would be appropriate to have Shirley Bassey or Tom Jones do it. Both can still sing.

Then again, it could be someone totally off guard.

My guess is that it will be Adele. I mentioned in the other thread that I just hope the song, regardless of who is doing it, is keep more upbeat/rocking to continue in line with Craig's Bond and the last two films.

While I truly believe Adele is getting the gig. I've always felt Nonpoint would do a good song.

They did an excellent cover of Phil Collin's In the Air Tonight for the Miami Vice film.

I also think Florence And The Machine could do a fantastic job on a title song. Something in the vein of No Light No Light. She has a very powerful, rich sound.

That's a great tune and i'd be happy if it was the Skyfall theme. eerie that the video involves a disturbing skyfall on a new york(ish) backdrop.
However, i'd worry that Eon would have such a powerful singer produce a string laden ballad, rather than this pacy, driving tune.

I'm a first timer...
This is the first time I've followed a Bond film so closely while its being made,
will the theme song performer be the next big announcement before the official poster & trailer?

If they follow the timeframe that they set for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, they'll end up announcing the title song performer sometime in late July. Chris Cornell was announced on July 26, 2006. Alicia Keys and Jack White were announced on July 29, 2008.

In other related news: anybody who says publicly that Adele is not perfect for a Bond theme is inviting serious backlash and accusations of envy.
