But for 'Skyfall', I still hope EON don't jump on the Adele loving bandwagon and go for Duran Duran....yes, still plugging for the wild boys!

One hopes Adele passes and EON goes for an instrumental theme instead.
In this day and age an instrumental theme would show how much EON is out of touch with the modern world. Yes, it worked well with OHMSS, but this 2012, dammit. Adele Adele Adele, she's all but officially confirmed in my eyes.

I'd rather go for an old-fashioned(have no idea why it is) atmospherical pace-setting instrumental theme, than a boring ballad from Adele just to attract teenager fans of her to the theatres.

Have to agree very much so there Aris007, my feelings exact. Bond doesn't NEED Adele just to have that 'modern' appeal as she is mainstream. I hope they avoid it as she is TOO obvious in a way. No-one even mentioned Madonna, Chris Cornell and even Jack White for theme songs so I sort of hope it's a big surprise..a good one though...!

+1
Duran Duran's AVTAK title theme is my favorite of the entire series. Hands down.
However, I do believe at this point it'll be Adele, one cannot deny the talent she has, plus she is quite hot in the music world at the moment. (Plus, she's English!)

So I guess SF will be the first self titled theme song since DAD? I wonder how long Adele can hold a note, Skkkkyyyffaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.
That's a good point: I hope so, yes!

Broccoli smiles and says, "We haven’t picked a song yet or anyone to sing it."
Craig raises an eyebrow and adds, "How about Adele?"
"You know, she’s wonderful; we love her," Broccoli says. "So, it’ll be great if she would do it, but we haven’t got any -- we haven’t made any decision yet."
And teasingly, Broccoli makes sure to add, "Watch this space."

It's a dream gig for her - at the perfect time - and a perfect choice for them. One has to believe it will happen.

Building anticipation for a film like this is a calculated venture. If they told us everything we want to know now, May to October would be horrifically boring.

It does sound like they would like to have her. She does make perfect sense. Too predictable? Maybe, but it's hard to think anyone more perfectly suited right now.
Same goes for Winehouse back in 2008, but we didn't get her, did we?

That's because she was an alcoholic and substance abuser, not to mention a mess. Adele, while partial to the odd drink, is not on the road to ruin like poor Amy was, rest her soul. I'm confident we'll bag Adele.

I don't want to be mean, but Amy was rather obvious. I'm sure that's not the reason why EON didn't pick her. She wasn't a role model for anyone in the end. I'm also confident that we don't know everything about Adele's private life, do we?

True, but we have never heard anything which suggests that Adele's behaviour is not befitting of someone who could be singing the Bond theme. Her performances are always flawless and she has never been portrayed in the press in a negative manner, such as Winehouse was for long periods.

Ah yes! Of course they did. But she dropped out for 'personal reasons' or something, is that right?
