Chris Cornell was immense. His style and vocals really matched up with Craig's version of Bond. If they brought it back, open arms would be held.


But for 'Skyfall', I still hope EON don't jump on the Adele loving bandwagon and go for Duran Duran....yes, still plugging for the wild boys!

In this day and age an instrumental theme would show how much EON is out of touch with the modern world. Yes, it worked well with OHMSS, but this 2012, dammit. Adele Adele Adele, she's all but officially confirmed in my eyes.

I'd rather go for an old-fashioned(have no idea why it is) atmospherical pace-setting instrumental theme, than a boring ballad from Adele just to attract teenager fans of her to the theatres.

Have to agree very much so there Aris007, my feelings exact. Bond doesn't NEED Adele just to have that 'modern' appeal as she is mainstream. I hope they avoid it as she is TOO obvious in a way. No-one even mentioned Madonna, Chris Cornell and even Jack White for theme songs so I sort of hope it's a big surprise..a good one though...!

Well, I hope that they don't announce Adele for the new theme song on Monday, cause she's getting too overrated right now. There are a lot of artists out there who could do that job much better than she would, like Alexi Murdoch, Doves, Civil Twilight, Jose Gonzalez...

Duran Duran's AVTAK title theme is my favorite of the entire series. Hands down.


However, I do believe at this point it'll be Adele, one cannot deny the talent she has, plus she is quite hot in the music world at the moment. (Plus, she's English!)

Yeah, they're clearly implying they want her - but of course, this is how negotiations work. They can't outright say that, Adele's people would hold their feet to the fire over a fee. It's a poker game. And she's one of the few artists on the planet right now who actually has the sort of leverage to take that kind of stand against the 007 producers. Babs just has to portray the slightest sense of indecisiveness to get Adele's camp nervous enough to be even slightly more reasonable about the price.

It's a dream gig for her - at the perfect time - and a perfect choice for them. One has to believe it will happen.

I wasn't so sure, because everything up to now has been fan speculation, as far as I can tell. But BB's interview sure looks like an intimation. If it were going to be someone else, I think the producers would begin dispelling the Adele rumors as soon as possible, and this is anything but dispelling. Everyone thinks it's going to be her, so if it isn't her, they would risk disappointing people.

It's also entirely possible the deal's been in place for some time (given Adele's appearance on Jonathan Ross last year), and they're just waiting until a targeted date to officially confirm as part of managing the hype at appropriate points and levels. Basic marketing. Good marketing, actually.

Building anticipation for a film like this is a calculated venture. If they told us everything we want to know now, May to October would be horrifically boring.

True, but we have never heard anything which suggests that Adele's behaviour is not befitting of someone who could be singing the Bond theme. Her performances are always flawless and she has never been portrayed in the press in a negative manner, such as Winehouse was for long periods.
