Sarcasm is completely lost on you, isn't it? I mean, I went out of my way to sound like a sixteen year-old, and you still didn't notice it.
I think you missed my point. Being sarcastic and unpleasant to other people is the thing about your posts that I'm really rather bored with. Please just be civil; I don't want to come on here and read people being dicks to each other over James bleedin' Bond. It isn't some sort of competition where you try to score points on people by attempting to spoof their posts: we're here to have a bit of fun. You spoil it.
It will never happen, but The Postmarks anyone?

Yes, I've liked that song for a while. It's very clearly supposed to be a Bond song: even the lyrics are Bondy!

Oh, your point was quite clear. I just chose to ignore it, because if you're bored by my posts, the solution is really quite simple: don't read them.I think you missed my point.

Before saying who i think should sing the new theme song can i say a quick hello to everyone who uses these forums. My choice would be Adele or Duffy, both modern a great fan base and fantastic voices.
Welcome aboard!! Always great to have new perspectives on the board. Your thoughts are always welcome (even if many may disagree from time to time!)

I still want George Michael to do the theme tune. A great voice, very emotive and powerful, and tender when needed, but such a legend - it's time to look to some older musicians to add a bit of 'sparkle' for the 50th. Current artists are fresh and very popular I know that, but just feel it will be someone we didn't even think about, like Chris Cornell or Jack White. I mean, Madonna could have made a good impact but her song was just mental for 'Die Another Day'. We've had Tina Turner for 'GoldenEye' and that was pretty epic, so come on...as Duran Duran probably aren't in the running and too busy touring stateside, bring in George Michael for 'Skyfall'!

In fact, they haven't got round to Elton John yet, which is a surprise.
I hope they stick to slightly more edgy artists, though.

And if they need to appeal to the kids they just have to go younger.
The real question is: should Bond 23 have a soulful ballad (Adele-type) or a rocker (Chris Cornell-type). For the latter, I wouldn´t mind THE FOO FIGHTERS, by the way...

I could get behind the Foos, but I think a lot of their appeal as theme performers would stem from which era their song comes from. Wasting Light is a fantastic album, but the sound is all wrong for Bond. For the latter, I wouldn´t mind THE FOO FIGHTERS, by the way...

Probably. The question is: will EON shake things up, even with the title song? I´m sure people were shocked when they heard LALD for the first time.

Is it possible that they'd get Alex Turner? The Arctic Monkeys do have a bit of a US following, after all; and he's been open about wanting to do one.
I hope so- cos they would do a great job and they are definitely at or near the stage where they could do it following wise

Oh, don't get me wrong; I think the Foos could pull it off - but I don't think anything from Wasting Light really fits Bond. They would probably have to go back to The Colour and the Shape or There Is Nothing Left To Lose for the right kind of sound.Probably. The question is: will EON shake things up, even with the title song? I´m sure people were shocked when they heard LALD for the first time.

As for the SF theme song, I can't help but think it will be a female artist this time around. How about Regina Spektor? I also wouldn't mind Tegan and Sara but I don't know if anyone out side of Canada knows of them.

I personally would like to see Coldplay preform a tune, I love what they did with YOLT.
I second this. I think they're perfect for the theme; British, popular among Americans and Brits, can produce a classical Bond song, seasoned. Just a few reasons they be perfect for the theme.

Just looking through people's latest suggestions makes me think it would be an apt time for David Arnold to perhaps do a Vol.2 of 'Shaken & Stirred' using some of these very artists.

Celine Dion
Mariah Carey
The Cranberries
Andrea Bocelli (a good singer don't know would it work with him)
Vanessa Williams
Phil Collins
Don't know would it work with any of them as also said before
The Who
The Rolling Stones
Bon Jovi
Evanescene
Robert Duncan
I was thinking what about them could they be able to doone, or is it good singers worng stuff
Chris Isaak
Harry Connick, Jr.
Sting
Eric Clapton
Gloria Estefan
You got to wonder the song If You Asked Me To, if they did not use Patti LaBelle's version for the end credit for Licence To Kill and used Celine Dion's.
Would it work iF Celine Dion did a Bond title song that she got a say in it with the song writers on how it should go and sound. Well here goes a video of her singing older Bond songs at her Vegas show last year someone filmed.

I mean seriously? Their overall general appeal ceased about five years ago. They are simply far, far too bad to even be considered.
