Take That.
The biggest selling point? The five of them could ponce about in the video, or even the main titles, as Bond!
We know Robbie fancies himself as Sean Connery. (Two total k'heads)
Gary could do Craig-Bond. He's blond, short and stocky, and the most talented of the bunch.
Jason's got Laz's cheekbones down to a fine art.
Howie has Brosnan's Taffin-scruffbag look.
And Mark could do the soft featured wimpy-Bond, Rog.
Okay, there's no one to do Tim. But hey, they're not a bloody sextette, are they? And who the hell rememebers Tim as Bond out there in the big wide world anyway?
Go one. You know you'd buy it just for the video alone.

I have just been listening to the Tron Legacy score, and I must say it is quite brilliant, mixing electronics and symphony (there's an actual orchestra playing).
Besides, we did have Moby not so long ago, who delivered a solid interpretation of the Bond theme.
So, it could prove interesting, provided of course they are restricted to some "bondian" canon (we don't want a night-clubbing theme, obviosuly!).
Just thinking out loud.

I've been re-listening to the Tron score, and some tracks really sound Bond-compatible.
Electronic + orchestra = quite a treat!

Like Madonna did ? Thanks, no more !
I agree with you.
Madonna did one of the worst James Bond's title song. Electronic music is not welcome in a James Bond movie.

It doesn't even have to have an orchestra, It would be refreshing to hear an an entirely electronic cue, after so many years of Arnold's orchestra-synth 'hybrid' scores.

Sounding "Bond-esque" is a rarely why artists are chosen to sing a Bond theme, and for a good reason...
..And this is probably the reason why we had Alicia Keys instead of Eva Almer...

Who? I expect they chose Alicia Keys because she's really well known and successful and has a great voice.

A great voice ? You're probably very influenced by her body...
Eva Almer, the (famous) rejected Bond song "Forever I'm yours"...She had a great voice !

No, just a stupid Shirley Bassey wannabe.
Alicia Keys has a got a unique, deep timbre to her voice, and doesn't try to gain success by retreading the past. She does her own thing very well.

It's probably a fact indeed ! What awful title song ! The worst with Madonna's.

I beg to differ! I think she has a terrible voice, unable to get a high note exactly right, just yelling in the mic. "Another way to Die" was very painful for my ears!

The song stretched her beyond her natural range, because Jack White wanted her to sing the same high pitches as he did. That's why it didn't work. I recommend listening to some other Keys songs that aren't titled 'Another Day to Die.'

I did, and notably the song about New York (forgot the actual name, sorry): I trully find her terrible. To me, she's a good example of the current trend of "singers" who believe they can actually sing just because they scream.

I don't know what she looks like. I don't follow American pop music, but I've heard an occasional single from her and she can belt a tune out. Not to my taste, but she's very good at what she does and has a great voice.

She's a decent singer, yeah. I think you'd be a bit naive to think the quality of the voice alone will get you chosen to be a Bond song singer. Fame and quality of the song might just count towards it too.

What about Shirley Bassey again?
Yes,why not? She still sounds great. Worked recently with Arnold too. She'd be a great choice.
