Producer Michael G. Wilson speaks to The Sun

http://www.thesun.co...Bond-theme.html

DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY and TOM JONES have given James Bond soundtracks a proud Welsh history.
And the tradition of big voices from the valleys belting out 007 themes has a bright future now DUFFY has caught the attention of EON film bosses.

The Warwick Avenue warbler was in Bond bigwig MICHAEL G WILSON’s sights at the Ivor Novello Awards at the plush Grosvenor House hotel in London last night.

Producer Michael told me: “I would love to get Duffy to sing the next tune. I think she is wonderful. AMY WINEHOUSE would be good too.

“We have started work on the new film, which I can’t say anything about. DANIEL CRAIG is very keen to get going.”

Wino blew her chances of singing the theme for Quantum Of Solace last year when MARK RONSON threw in the towel on recording sessions because Amy “wasn’t ready”.

(No doubt the source will be slagged off but potentially a direct quote but put the article where you feel MODS...)

so bond 23 in 2010 is still a possability?

I still say it's gonna be late 2010 or early 2011 and a spring time bond is fine with me honestly because a spring 2011 bond doesn't rule out a december 2012 bond 24.

Well any doubts I had (and a few others I imagine) that Craig might have only gotten to do two films has now been put to rest.

I think it'd be neat if Craig could do five, then we could have a nice sequence going:

1 film-Lazenby
2 films-Dalton
3 films-someone someday
4 films-Brosnan
5 films-Craig
6 films-Connery (not counting NSNA)
7 films-Moore

Ok so I forgot we didnt have an actor who only did 3, some day...some day my sequence will work. B)

It won't be spring. I can't imagine Sony will release anytime but summer or Thanksgiving/Christmas.

Also, I have to say I don't completely trust the quote. It's one of those vague quotes the taboids specalize in--they all sound like they were written by the same person, and they never have any hard information. I'm willing to believe Wilson was where they said he was, but I'm not completely convinced he said what they said he did.

Mind you, if the Sun isn't a typical tabloid and usually prints reliable stuff (I'm a Yank and genuinely don't know), then apologies to all concerned, and it's time to get excited. But I'm not fully persuaded.

Well this is encouraging news!! It'll be great to get excited for the whole Bond 23 cycle. Quite frankly I was getting tired of the polarization of Quantum of Solace, you either loved it or didn't and I can respect that. So to have signs that the Bond 23 engine is starting up will be great for generating some new enthusiasm here on CBN! B)

Yes that could mean that I guess and as I stated originally the source is hardly the best but something to cling onto is better than nothing. B)

Um, it's The Sun reporting; bear in mind that they 'reported' (and I use the term loosely) that not only did the production team get caught up in a gang war whilst shooting QUANTUM OF SOLACE in Panama, but that they started it an were later involved in a shoot-out when it reality it was nothing more than a labour strike on the other side of the city.

I'd trust Judas beforeI trused The Sun.

True but wasnt the Sun the first publication to report that Craig was the new Bond? I seem to recall it was them, so perhaps they arent as unreliable as some are wantint to make out.

Just because they're a tabloid doesnt mean they can't get it right once in a while.

Yes they were but they got it from a source at the Liverpool Echo who called his Mum and trapped her into admitting he was chosen.
That is why the "reveal" of Craig was done a little earlier than they wanted.
I agree, The Sun is not great but a 100% cynicism is a little extreme.

Anyway what about Duffy singing? I'm jacked up about that.

This just made my day. Sure, take it with a grain of salt. But even if they've only just started writing a script today or yesterday or whatever, it's a start. At least the project's going somewhere and we're not left dangling in the air wondering when it will begin.

I'm taking this news with a very large grain of salt. I'll actually believe that they're moving forward with BOND 23 when there's some actual evidence that they're moving in that direction. Even if they have started, I still doubt that we see BOND 23 until sometime near the end of 2011, possibly even sometime in 2012.

I'm still thinking end of 2011 as well. I think their "work" right now is probably just the bone basics. Thinking up plots, starting early drafts of scripts, maybe doing some bone bone bone bone basic scouting. That's about it. But it's better than "Eh, we'll get to it when we feel like it"

We will have a better idea of whether or not Bond 23 will have a Oct/Nov 2010 release in August because by that point Eon will have to have got their director on board for pre-production. I suspect that we'll have heard nothing by then, a director will be appointed in the first half of 2010, and we'll subsequently have a Oct/Nov 2011 release. Things seem far too behind for us to see a release in 18 months time - modern cinema just doesn't seem to move that quickly, sadly.

I'd like to see a return to a consistent 2 year cycle. The 'longer wait = better product' argument doesn't hold with me I'm afraid. I waited 3 years for DAD....

As for Daniel Craig going to the gym - well, I think he just goes if the upcoming part demands it. Perhaps he goes anyway.
