Inventive guess, but not what I was thinking. Here's a nudge:

The activity in this scene would normally take balls.

Hmmmmmmmmm, I may be off, and really should have reviewed the scene prior to posting, but are you referring to Octopussy? When the circus troupe is on the train, one of the girls is juggling with cups, and would normally take....

That's a very good guess. In fact, you guessed the movie. It is Octopussy. So strictly speaking your answer is correct--but it's not the scene I was thinking of.

DOH, of course, the TENNIS sound effects during the Tuk chase.

Major, we created this hell we are in--we overthink each other's clues and soon overlook the obvious. I shall post a new clue in a bit.

And he actually used a tennis racket to bop the baddies, if I recall correctly.

You're absolutely right about the brain fever we're inducing in each other. It's fun but can be exhausting. I'm thinking I'll lighten up on my clues awhile (here and in the other two games we frequent) so it can be less work and more play. If I occasionally come up with what I think is a real killer, I'll include a warning to that effect. Waddya think?

Entirely up to you. I, however, like the brain racking exercise (I really thought the DB5 was the answer in vehicles,) and shall not post any disclaimers. However, if I see you posting really easy ones, I will withhold a post for a few days to encourage others to play.

NEW DISCLAIMERLESS CLUE:

It can be silly, or The World Is Not Enough, but in either event, it proved to be a killer.

I'm thinking:

silly as in Silly String,

The World Is Not Enough as in TWINE as in twine,

and therefore:

the thread used to convey the poision that killed Aki in You Only Live Twice.

Thanks, trs. I have to say, that was initially the oddest-sounding clue I've encountered so far, from you or anyone else. Very ingenious!

Let's try this:

Nah, it's the laboured metaphor with the Siamese fighting fish.

Well, my guess has been explained by Jim. Yes--Thailand was formerly known as Siam. Siamese vodka was my YOLT guess, next was FRWL--fighting fish.

Yes, the fighting fish were the metaphor I had in mind. I don't find it that labored myself--I've always thought it was a deft bit of screenwriting, especially for the time.

Although Jim jumped in with the explanation, I believe trs gets the honors for having made the right guess first.

Onward!

Yes, that was the correct movie but not the scene I had in mind. However, the name of the game is Which MOVIE am I? So, Hilly, over to you for the next clue.

PS: If anyone is interested, the clue I had in mind was the "Klaus Hergeshimer, G Section", used by Bond and the real Klaus at which point the alarm was raised at WW Techtronics.

Next clue, Hilly.
