I watched the premeire of EASTWICK the other night.

Writing which teeters between insipid and vulgar. The kind of writing that would now attempt to make a teet joke out of that word 'teeters' I just used.

No thanks. B)

Watching the Portsmouth v Everton game right now. Sadly I'll be away for the better part of the Liverpool game today.

Season premier of Law & Order Special Victims Unit: a powerful, very dark episode with a jawdropping final twist. Also a top-notch performance from Prison Break's Wentworth Miller. One of my better-spent viewing hours.

"CSI" season premiere, "The Office" (U.S. version) and then "Law & Order" season premiere. "CSI" was pretty good, "The Office" also pretty good, "Law & Order" not so great. Not the worst episode I've ever seen (they had a whole succession of those a couple of seasons ago), but certainly not the best. May be time for that show to bow out gracefully.

Flashforward - pretty cool concept for a show. Hopefully I'll be able to fit it in amongst all the other shows I'm surprisingly drawn to.

Dexter. I don't know, it might be getting too cutesy. I guess it depends on what direction they're going to take it in this season, can't judge it all just by the first episode. Last year was dull as ditchwater and I hope they climb out of that abyss. Still, John Lithgow brought the crazy right from the start.

Family Guy - Now that's a season premiere! The "multiverse" idea was genius, and some of the alternate realities they landed in were side-splitters, in particular the Disney parody and "real world" Stewie and Brian.

The Cleveland Show - Hmm. Don't know if I liked it. One genuine laugh, about white people writing movies for black people. Could be a case of needing a few eps to find its footing.

Watching reruns of That 70's Show and watching an episode of the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series during the commercials. Brett was indeed very good, though I admit I still have something of a soft spot for old Peter Cushing.

Castle: Fantastic. So far, the first two episodes of season 2 have been far and away the best episodes of the series thus far. Nathan Fillion is hilarious as always, and Stana Katic has really developed the Detective Beckett character into one that is now equally as interesting and entertaining as Fillion's Castle.

I haven't seen it, but I just kind of find it bizzare they've made it at all. When it was announced, did anyone really think/say "oh boy, they're doing a spin-off for my favourite character!" That said I did laugh at the tailer a couple of times.

Yes it was a bit of an out of left field choice for a spinoff character (as noted by Stewie in the pilot). I would have preferred Joe Swanson getting his own show, as a wheelchair-bound action hero cop, presented as a parody of cop shows. Anyway, we'll see. American Dad wasn't much good at first and now I think I prefer it to Family Guy, except for the occasional brilliant FG episode, as happened on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm a bit behind on American Dads, being in the UK the most recent one I've seen is I believe The One That Got Away, but generally I think it's been much better than post-hiatus Family Guy.

Hey Hey It's Saturday! - the Reunion

I'd never seen it before because it ran from 1971 to 1999 (before I lived in Australia) but I'd heard lots about it. It was funny. They should bring it back for good.

The Good Wife...for my money, the best new show on the tube. I'm praying they don't drop the Chris Noth character, but rather expand his role in time. Great stuff, with great acting all around.

I was finally able to catch this past week's episode of Flash Forward. Very entertaining.

Also watched today:

Dexter (season 4 premiere)
Castle (this past week's episode off of the DVR)
Glee (one of the episodes I hadn't gotten around to yet)

I wasn't lookin' for my new favorite show, but I watched the first two episodes of Flashforward today beacuse I had some time to kill. "D. Gibbons is a bad man." And I'm officially hooked.

Wallander, the British remake of the Swedish detective series. I watched the episode Firewall, where Kenneth Branagh thinks he meets the love of his life.

House S6, ep1

One of those shows where the central performance is far better than the script or premise.
