Watched The Third Man, a proto-Bond film featuring Bernard Lee in a credited role as Sgt. Paine and both Robert Brown and Geoffrey Keen as two uncredited MPs (it took me a minute before I paused the DVD and went, "Holy crap, is that Geoffrey Keen?"). B)

Just saw Octopussy on Encore -- I know it has quite a fan base around here, but I was appalled. The plot had promise, but the action scenes completely took me out of the movie. The spectators watching "tennis"? The killer yo-yo? The tarzan yell? The stunt work was decent, but also looked incredibly pasted in - I could not suspend my disbelief that Roger Moore's Bond could doing anything more strenuous than walk across a room ... slowly.

For me, OP is a perfect example of how the Bond series lost its way. It made me like QoS even more -- risk taking, exciting, attempting something new. QoS isn't perfect, but it makes me appreciate how far we've come in the past 25 years.

Licence to Kill was on today. One of the weaker Bond films, IMO. As an example:

"Don't you know? Iguanas are a girls best friend?"
"Why don't you wait until you're asked?" "Then why don't you ask me?"
B)

BTW, I didn't see the "flaming hand" during the truck scenes. Does anyone else know where it is? Or IF it is???

Quantum of Solace on DVD.

Good Bond film, very brave, very short, some great scenes and Daniel Craig is excellent. The action scenes still irk me, Too choppy. The final battle reminds me of DAD. Other than that, no complaints, but it wasn't as magnificent as CR, a very hard act to follow. Roll on Bond 23 - Daniel Craig's "Thunderball"...B)

The new NSNA dvd w/ the hilarious Rubin/Kersh audio commentary. Kersh was great!B) He seemed all over the place when ever Rubin asked specific questions.

I'm liking NSNA more and more now. Always did, though.

I think I'll buy a pair of blue denim overalls like Sean's....after I find a baby blue terrycloth jumpsuit!

Just watched Diamonds Are Forever. I love it. I take it for what it is, not what people want it to be. It's just a whole lot of fun. I think Connery's comic book Bond outing out-does most Moore attempts.
