What's the last Bond movie you watched?

Casino Royale was on Showtime, so I watched it again. Its still pretty damn amazing...a Bond film that actually seems real, with real acting, and a plausible narrative and everything. You've got terrorists and financiers, you've got people who blow up stuff for stock swindles through complicated plausibly-deniable contacts, you've got undercover agents and cell-phone traces -- by God if that doesn't sound convincingly real. What the hell are they doing to my movie franchise?! Why, not once does Le Chiffre say to a henchman "Find him and kill him."

Well I think most people here have seen the movies so many times, they only watch them on occasions.

I've got his record beat. Between June 2007 and August 2008, I can't recall actually having sat down to watch an entire Bond film from start to finish so that makes 14 months. It wasn't until recently that I started doing a miniBondathon(GE, TND(1st 2/3 anyway), YOLT, MR, AVTAK, CR). It's good to abstain for a while then come back and enjoy them again.

Agreed. I have been really busy with my baby daughter, so there is rarely time to watch any movies, never mind Bond films, but the last one I watched was TSWLM last week.

I had a Bondathon in late spring/early summer that got my fix for a while.

I'm sure that's the case for a lot of people, but not so much for me personally. It's more that I watch a lot of movies, and generally movies I haven't seen take priority over ones I have, unless I get a craving for a specific film or a specific type of film. It is also nice, as others have said, not to "burn myself out" on the films.

First up was DR.NO.
Which is better than I had remembered it. Scary assassination at the beginning. Classic Bond introduction. Good detective work. The great "you had your six"-scene (the way Connery says it is so matter-of-fact it gave me the chills). Then the film switches gears when Bond goes to Dr.No´s island. In a way, like DAD it becomes a different film after that.
Then I watched THUNDERBALL. (see my review on the thread to this)
I will take on NSNA next, just to see it with THUNDERBALL fresh on my mind.

Oh yeah. You may be away from ALL movies for a while. But I bet she makes it worth it
With the release of QOS coming up I find myself watching more Bond again. Especially the ones I haven´t seen in a long time.

Very fair description. The DAD critics should read that.

Good idea. I think you will find the original superior but that's JMHO. Along those lines, a GF/AVTAK double feature would probably be interesting also.
Come think about it, it's been a while since I saw a Bond film. The last one was Casino Royale which was on TV about 3 weeks ago. I've been having this urge to watch License to Kill for the past week or so though so I might do that soon.
Don't fight the urge. I watched a little of LTK last night and today. I think that's the one I want to watch in entirety next with Craig and CR fresh in my mind.

Some points I noticed:
-That intro is still crazy awesome, although Jaws flapping around and that dud landing almost screwed it up.
-Besides that Bondola scene, I think all the action scenes are pretty well done.
-I still don't like how Bond will simply walk into any room and suddenly find a clue or enemy. Everywhere he goes its an octagon, or Jaws/henchmen around the corner.
-Moore's rather good in this one, despite all the craziness.
-Was Dr.Goodhead in "The Way We Were"? I swear I saw her in that one. Either way, she's better than Barbara Bach in the last movie.
-Drax has all the best lines, he should win that "villain Quote" topic. "Take care of Mr. Bond...make sure some harm comes to him" "You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season" "Mr.Bond, you continue to foil my plans for an amusing death for you"
-That dog chasing scene is kinda creepy, and that scene where Bond was inside that fast machine was intense.
-Man, Brazil is pretty. I wanna go ;_;
-Wait, so America has a group of space-ready, laser-equipped Marines?
-Man, the whole Dolly/Jaws scene is beyond ridiculous, when that music hit its peak and Jaws smiled I couldn't stop laughing.
Anyway, Moonraker may not even be in my top 10, but I rather enjoyed watching it. There some good performances, well-done action scenes(mostly), a superb soundtrack, great locales, some neat gadgets(although that Bondola was a bit much), and I never felt bored(which something I can't say for better movies like FRWL).

Indeed she does. It's like coming home to your favourite TV show every weeknight and then watching it all weekend!! It's great being a Dad.

Enjoy.
No, AVTAK is not that bad. It's a Bond film, so it can never be bad. LTK is great, and a very gritty thriller with Dalton in top form and a very believable villain.
Let us know what you think.
Are you new to the Bond movies, then?

I did watch LTK last night and my feelings stay the same. I will admit Micheal Kamen did a better score then Brosnan's films. Sadly, Kamen's score was bucthered on the soundtrack release.
You ought to write a review of LTK and put it in the LTK reviews section.
I just finished watching it. The disco version of Moonraker is playing right now. Man, this soundtrack is pretty damn good from begining to end.

Always glad to read more praise from another MR fan(see my sig.) Sometimes, the Bond as comic superman films provide a lot of underrated fun. MR is my favorite Moore film and my favorite "OTT entry" in the series. And yes, Miss Chiles was in that famous(or infamous) Robert Redford/Barbra Streisand epic. Lois also appeared in The Great Gatsby with Redford and in Death on the Nile with David Niven a/k/a "Sir James Bond" in 1967's CR spoof.

Yes it is. It's the only Bond film I ever hated after watching. However, I have mellowed towards it since then even though it is still my #21 pick. It's still a Bond film with a John Barry score, good stunts, nice locations and some good supporting players(Alison Doody, Patrick Macnee and Fiona Fullerton), so it's watchable and diverting. Just don't set your expectations too high.
I would highly recommend The Living Daylights (also see my sig) if you haven't seen that one yet. TLD's my current #2 Bond film. It's kinda like From Russia With Love but with Octopussy-era action sequences. An excellent entry with a terrific story, suspense, intrigue and incredible stuntwork. Not just a good Bond film but a good Cold War spy drama also. Dalton is amazing in his film debut. I only regret he didn't get to do more Bond films.

Oh, I'm fond of OP too(see my sig). It's presently my #2 Moore film. I think OP has a better plot than MR and Moore/Maud Adams have more chemistry than Moore/Lois Chiles. However, I think MR is tigher and a little less flabby on the whole(OP has some slow spots in the India scenes but the Germany scenes are very exciting) and Moore just seemed better suited to Lewis Gilbert's direction and the 1970s era. Love 'em both though. MR's presently at #6 for me while OP is #8.

I'm not really new, its just I haven't seen most of these films since I was a kid. I remember the golden gate bridge and that manly black woman, but thats about it.
I also remmber Live and Let Die's fake funeral scene(that was a WTF moment) and Baron Samedai laughing at the end.

You need to watch an awful lot more films if they are your favourites ever. Come back in five years time and see if any are still there.Casino Royale last week, i was counting down my favourite films ever and Casino Royale is fourth (after 3.The Prestige 2.The Dark Knight and 1. Layer Cake)
