What's the last Bond movie you watched?

Used to lie in my #1, but slipped to #6. It's very good. It isn't as good as OHMSS or FRWL, but it's a classic one. It's an example of how Bond films should be.

You need to watch an awful lot more films if they are your favourites ever. Come back in five years time and see if any are still there.Casino Royale last week, i was counting down my favourite films ever and Casino Royale is fourth (after 3.The Prestige 2.The Dark Knight and 1. Layer Cake)
Or maybe those are just his favorites? My favorites are Die Hard, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, and Back to the Future/Raiders of the Lost Ark.

That's a little rude. They may be his favourites but that doesn't mean he considers them to be the best films ever made.

I always loved this movie as a kid, but years went on, I enjoyed it less. However, this time I enjoyed it more.
I really like the first hour, and I would agree with those who feel this is a very different Bond movie, partly due to the supernatural element, but also because there is no Q, no meeting in M's office, and the locations are different. To see Roger's Bond in Harlem really is a treat.
It's always near the bottom of my list, but I realised last night that this is a good Bond movie and it confirms my view that all 21 are always watchable.

I'm sorry, but however lowly your opinion of DAF is, that was a mistake!

I used to say that Jack Wade made JW Pepper look like Sean Connery. Now, having viewed him in his short sleeved vacation shirt, I'll change that to Daniel Craig in CR's Madagascar sequence.
Oh, I'm sorry this isn't the "let's bash Jack Wade" post? Excuse me.

First hour? Decent stuff. Paris was beautiful, as was Zorin's estate. LOVE the PTS. WTF @ Mayday though
Second hour? Mehvile. Terribly written Bond girl, May Day was not fun to watch at ALL, WTF @ weak Goldfinger retread, that Bond girl had the most annoying screams ever(I mean she puts Willie Scott from Temple of Doom to shame), I don't know what horse racing/mines/Silcon Valley all have to do with each other but that doesn't work...*sigh*
Defintely the weakest of the Moore films and I wish he would have stopped after Octopussy(a film I defend dearly, sooooo much more fun that AVTAK).

Forgot to post about it last time. MUUUUUCH better than AVTAK, its kinda sad. It has its goofy moments that even I don't like(Tarzan yell? Boob zoom-in? C'mon guys...), but its just so much damn fun to watch. My favorite scene has got to be that bomb defusing one. Its a credit to the team to make a scene so supenseful(with police, and the circus performers, and the gasping audience, and the officals running around), and yet James Bond is dressed like a clown. You KNOW Bond is gonna defuse it, but with so much going on(and the other 00 agent getting killed in the line of duty), its just really well-done.
Actually, I'll just stop here before I start gushing about all my favorite scenes.

There is not a single original idea in this film, kinda like Brosnan himself. But you know what? It didn't bother me at all. I guess that means this is a pretty good movie anyway. Johnathan Pyrce makes everything better somehow, and I really wish Mr. Kaufman was used more than that generic Red Grant rip-off. Nothing great, but its not bad. It beats the hell out of watching Thunderbore, License to Bore, A View to a Kill, thats for damn sure.
I put it on the same level as You Only Live Twice, maybe a little more, since Brosnan is actually good in this one, instead of Connery sleepwalking his way to another paycheck.

I cought the last 40 minutes of Octopussy on ITV4 last night, brilliant movie. I was quite suprised how much Kamal reminds me of Dominic Greene!
Buh ? Greene really dosen't register anything Kamal Khan.

First time since in over a decade, so it was pretty much brand new('cept I always remembered how ugly Grace Jones was).

Wow, that is a long wait between AVTAKs...
I certainly don't watch them as often as a lot of people on here but I've seen all 21 in the last 2 years.

I always have a certain fondness for this one, and it was more consistant than I remembered. I think I would rank it above FYEO at least.

Her comment as end credits rolled: (kiss on Bryce's cheek) "You just enriched my life....Can I borrow some others?"
Recently, was in the mood for some Brosnan and put TND on the computer. Still stands up IMO. Of all of it, my favorite bit is still the fight in the sound booth during Carver's launch party.
*switching off power* "It's time...for...a station break."
Sweaty, battered, in tux yet still victorious, Pierce has never look more Fleming's Bond than in that shot.

I'm coming to the end of my Bond marathon.
Like always, I really enyoy the first half of DAD, but when Bond goes to Iceland the whole film is gonna to be incredible! Casino Royale will follow of course.

I didn't hate it, but I don't know if I liked it that much either. Sean Connery is awesome in it, and he's really good at just about everything. One of my favorite scenes was when he was drugged by the coffee. He goes from being sarcastic("...first class service), to concerned("whats wrong?"), to frustrated("Damn coffee!"). Its like he was disapointed in himself for falling so easily to something so obvious. I also loved the "you had your six" scene, that was great.
I rather liked Dr. No. He not actually shown until 3/4ths into the movie, but they play him up as this evil scary dude, with the voice, the hands, and the way people would kill themselves or risk bodily harm to avoid his wrath. My favorite scene in the movie is when he and Bond are just taking. Some great acting and well-written dialogue.
I wish I could be more postive for the rest of the movie, which I thought was pretty meh. You could see the early starts of a great series here, but its very raw. Sean Connery makes it watchable. Otherwise, its just something I would find on TV and casually watch.
so far, in my Bond-a-thon,
TSWLM > GE > CR > GF > OP > FRWL > DAD >/= TND > MR > YOLT > TB > AVTAK > LTK
Next up OHMSS, TLD, and FYEO(although I'm thinking about LALD...maybe).

Too bad the look is quickly undone by what comes out of his mouth. Has the term "station break" ever been used by anyone outside of the USA? I had no idea what he was talking about, and its a line that really typifies the Americanization that plagued the Brosnan era.

Ah, Bryce, you're always enriching womens' lives. And enlarging their vocabulary...
Has the term "station break" ever been used by anyone outside of the USA?
It is not a phrase that a Brit would ever use.

Why don't we CBnners do such commentaries together? With all the background knowledge we have, those could become really interesting.

It would be a chaotic argument about the Brosnan era.
Even if we were watching Thunderball....
