When it comes to Bond themes, everyone has different tastes, so some of us are going to love it and some of us are not.
I like all of the Bond songs. There isn't a single one that I hate (even though Die Another Day is bottom of my list).

Well, that's well and wisely said. I remember the brouhaha over YKMN for CR: Gravity's Silhouette wondered who was strangling the cat when he heard Cornell sing. And the consensus seemed to be that the song was dreadful. I walked in, expecting that. But, honetly, I loved the song...despite Cornell's--well, screaming. Anyway, I'll wait for the song, as I will for the film--with an open mind and a hopeful heart. If worse comes to worst, I'll just plug up my ears. :(

Isn't it about time for this to get leaked onto the internet? I'm sure we had YKMN by this time before CR!

I think we got YKMN just after the theatrical was released, 16th of September if I remember correctly.

Just pre-ordered it on Ebay now, cool a 7" single is so much better than a CD single and it's out 29th Sep according to a few sources!

Jack White's fangs are mowing down the marble floor, but this is looking promising anyway -- Much better than the old cokehead from Spoongarden and his vocoded vocals --

I reckon that it'll be the movie version, much in the same way with A-Ha.

An "instrumental version" means that it's without vocals. So I doubt it.

:( Sorry, I got a little confused within myself there.

But on that thought, it would be nice to have a solely instrumental main titles sequence.

Alicia Keys and Jack White plan video shoot for new Bond song in Toronto

By THE CANADIAN PRESS

R&B singer Alicia Keys and Jack White of the White Stripes were to film the video for the new James Bond theme song in Toronto this weekend.

Keys was at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting her new film "The Secret Life of Bees" while White was there with "It Might Get Loud," a documentary on the electric guitar.

Producers of the upcoming Bond flick, "Quantum of Solace," say White wrote and produced the new theme song, "Another Way To Die," and plays drums on it.

He also joins Keys on the vocal tracks for the tune, which is the first duet to be chosen as a Bond theme.

"It feels very Bond, really brash and hard and super cool. It has a lot of valleys and peaks in it. That's what I love about it," Keys said in an interview at the festival.

"It was great to work with Jack White. I've always been a big fan of the White Stripes and so for us to kind of combine this kind of rock and soul feeling, it was a lot of fun."

I think that's actually a smart move. Arnold's not a particularly gifted songwriter.

Good news to hear. Wonder if the single release will be accompanied by some official releases, as songs like Die Another Day, The World is not Enough and GoldenEye were.

As would I but unfortunately, the chances of that ever happening again in a Bond film is pin-thin to none.

Nice to see that EON really wants to tie the songs and performers into the theme of the films since CR. After the spectacular YKMN AWTD will surely be wonderful as well, mirroring the dynamic of Bond and Camille (and/or Vesper).

I was a bit surprised no one had picked up on that yet! So chuffed it's getting a vinyl 7" release, must be Jack's input, he's very pro vinyl like myself.

Looked out for a 7" for YNMN but it never came, although Cornell just isn't what he used to be, sure hope is forthcoming album is better than the last, that Billy Jean cover was atrocious.

Bond Theme + Vinyl 7" = Very Happy Bond fan who loves his Vinyl.

If it is coming out 3 weeks today then I'd have thought this will go to radio pretty soon!

Yeah, I would have thought that it's quite likely to be getting some airtime on the radio in the next week, or so.

It'll be interesting to see if they include a bit of the song in the new trailer, as well. They haven't done that for a while.
