'We're partying tonight to celebrate the end of the tour and it will be so lovely to be in Rome for the summer! It's usually so hot, but it will be good to work there with Rufus and everybody. It's going to be a very hot summer in Rome.'
The actress, who was born in the Cagliari province of Sardinia, played Solange opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale and modelled before she studied acting and began a career on the stage and on screen.
The other Zen films will be based on Dibdin's Cabal and Ratking novels. Zen is a senior police officer in Rome who has to combat criminals and corrupt officials. He's brilliant at solving crimes, but his love life is often complicated.
Producer andy Harries, who is making the films for BBC Scotland, told me he hoped they would go on cinema release in Europe, but they will be shown on BBC1 in the UK.
Harries's Left Bank Pictures company is also behind the BAFTA award winning Kenneth Branagh crime drama Wallander.

The actor was spotted kissing a good-looking guy on May 15th at Roosterfish bar in Venice.
"It was definitely Daniel Craig, and he was most certainly making out with a guy," claims an onlooker in the parking lot. "Daniel kissed his friend on the lips. It was an open-mouth passionate French kiss. In fact, Daniel held the guy's head in his hands and pull him in for the kiss!"
And the source took a polygraph test!
When Daniel saw he was being watched, the witness claims he "immediately broke away from the guy. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it."
But the two went unnoticed in the bar.
Another source claims:
"When Daniel and his friend walked in, the looked like any other upscale gay couple checking out the scene.
He rubbed Daniel's leg and shoulder while they talked, and Daniel didn't seem to mind.
At first, I thought Daniel may have come in with his gay friend to check out the live music. But when they started dancing together, I though, 'This is more than just two friends out for drinks.'"
Craig's reps have not responded to the allegations.
I for one, think it's rather great news ;-).

That being said, I severely doubt there's any truth to this whatsoever.
BTW... Wouldn't it behoove EON and other production companies to employ private detectives to check out potential stars of "big money" film franchises? I'm not saying I personally approve of such a practice, but we are talking $$$ here.
Say you're a film producer who cast an unknown actor in the starring role of a $200 Million action film that's planned as a franchise... You're well into post-production when a tabloid publishes incontrovertible evidence that your new star is gay, or at least bisexual. Your film -- and that $200 Million investment -- is now destroyed.
DESTROYED.
Is this fair to gay actors? Absolutely not. It is unfair. But I'd bet you dollars to donuts that if it was revealed that Craig -- or, say, the star of the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA film for Marvel -- was, in fact, gay... then he's through.
When it comes to action-adventure films, you cannot have an openly gay actor as the hero. It is unacceptable to the masses.

This is a fair point. I know Rupert Everett has been quoted as saying he does not get offered straight roles because of his sexuality.

Sounds about right. I can't see no logic in that either. It's perfectly accepted straight actors can play gay, but not the other way around. There are exceptions, I can think of some (out) gay actors who I would have trouble seeing them play straight, but only because they are associated mainly with playing gay roles and that's the image they have. But on the whole acting is acting and gay actors can play straight no problem. But wasn't there something the other day about someone in Hollywood (who is himself gay) claiming that gay men are incapable of playing straight roles? Not that I can fathom the logic of that.

Indeed, how long did Rock Hudson play the rugged leading man for instance.

Neither can I.But wasn't there something the other day about someone in Hollywood (who is himself gay) claiming that gay men are incapable of playing straight roles? Not that I can fathom the logic of that.
Jodie Foster got two Oscars for playing it straight in THE ACCUSED or THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, GEORGE TAKEI made a career of playing the straight SULU in STAR TREK, Neil Patrick Harris rarely plays gay roles, Sophie Ward was Holmes squeeze in YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES, Dirk Bogarde was a straight girl heart-throb for decades (likewise Richard Chamberlain), Peter Wyngarde played a straight TV lothario and spy for years, Lily Tomlin played a hacked off wife in NINE TO FIVE, Dick Sargent was the dutiful husband in BEWITCHED, Kelly McGillis launched many a teenboy fantasy via the likes of TOP GUN and WITNESS, Raymond Burr nailed PERRY MASON week in and week out, Ian McKellen has done quite alright as the probably straight GANDALF, MAGNETO and NUMBER TWO and Cynthia Nixon has been playing one of the girls for years. And they are all gay.
Likewise, masculine films such as BATMAN FOREVER, IF, GODZILLA, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, LOOK BACK IN ANGER, CHILDS PLAY, FRANKENSTEIN, INDEPENDENCE DAY, MARATHON MAN, MIDNIGHT COWBOY, HELLRAISER, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 and OHMSS were all directed by gay men.

But, yes, what you say is true. And also, if one believes the rumour bill, a couple of the very biggest male stars in Hollywood have been successfully playing straight in films for decades, in spite of actually being gay (or bisexual).

Yeah but there is more problem when the public know the actor is gay. Then difficulties arise. Whether an actor discloses their sexuality is a matter for them, but I think it's harder after they come out to be accepted as playing straight. My opinion.Neither can I.But wasn't there something the other day about someone in Hollywood (who is himself gay) claiming that gay men are incapable of playing straight roles? Not that I can fathom the logic of that.

You mean Raymond Burr, I take it?
No, Raymond Burr was the Perry Mason that Raymond Benson nailed.

But if Daniel is gay, so what? Doesn't bother me a bit. If I was riding as high as he is at the moment, I'd be humping everything.
