Saw the new quad at my local cinema yesterday. Gets the message accross nicely. You know it's a Bond film and that it's out on Oct 31st. I have to say, when you just see it 'in the flesh' you don't tend to view it as critically (I didn't even notice the watch).

I didn't even notice.

But then, that's my approach to roduct placment in the films. Making movies isn't cheap, and so the producers have to get money from somewhere to pay for it. If they have to use product placement, that's fine. I'll just ignore it. But if it's not there, the film doesn't get made - or is of poorer quality - because of a lack of money.

The US version of this design can be found on ebay.

Seem to be plenty about, unlike the UK quad.

Usual Double Sided concerns still apply.

I know the feeling! You can take it from a video club as soon as it gets in DVD, but I don't think you can wait till then!

I don't mind this now. It certainly looks better in high defintion format. I'd still like some variation with these posters, though.

What were they thinking with the logo?

I am no fan of the 2-line logo:

Quantum of
.......Solace
........7

But now, what little chance there was of people successfully "reading" the 007 logo from the O in 'of' and the O in 'Solace' has now vanished with the 3-line set-up of:

Quantum
..of
.Solace
..7

I know we've seen the 3-line set-up before, in the QoS blog among other places. But IO never thought we'd see this in an actual poster. I'm no graphic designer, or typesetter, but I know bad graphic design when I see it.

It looks ridiculous.

well... Aren't we being a little unfair? I mean, for CR we had Craig in shadows with a gun at the poker table... And now we have Craig looking pretty dapper in the hot desert sun, with his big gun. Okay, i'm not blown away by this teaser poster but at the same time I think it's in keeping with previous efforts and does the job. There's no reason to think we won't get a more elaborate and exciting final theatrical poster sometime soon

No idea, they look drab compared to their CR counterparts. I can tolerate them, but they better get their act together. These lot are not in the same league at the moment.
