Based on that 10 second whirlwind, I'm not sure I see the "60's spy thriller" that Forster was talking about. Actually, what I think I see is Casino Royale. It doesn't look that, I don't know... different.

Anybody else also not seeing what I'm not seeing?

I'm quite aware that almost nothing can be taken from that rapid fire sample and am not at all 'worried'. I see no harm in offering up some analysis though...

Interesting that they are showcasing more of the Simon Crane action footage as oppose to Dan Bradley's contributions.

The music was really offputting though. They really need to distance this much publicised "Bond makeover" from that generic Zimmer music. I don't want to hear Jerry Bruckheimer leftovers in a Bond film. Whatever happened to the essence of John Barry?

I'm not liking the music much either. I keep hearing that it's a great new version of the Bond theme, but I think that it's about time to retire the "James Bond Theme" and finally give the character a new song. I'm also not that crazy about this particular arrangement of the theme either.

Let me help you understand by first dispelling some of your current understandings.

I am not unhappy. I am happy.
I'm not playing cards.
I looked at 9 seconds of footage and it looked more like 9-seconds of Casino Royale than 9-seconds of what I'm imagining a "60's spy thriller" to look like. And I recognize that this is based on almost no information.

I can't understand why people would rather create a 14-page thread consisting of nothing but remarks such as "cool!" than to actually TALK about the thing we've all seen.

On the other hand if one believes that NOTHING can be taken from the clip, then there's really no reason to hang around this thread and one can just let me say my 2 cents about this 2 cent clip. Ok?

I saw the footage right now. It's very good for a 9 second video. It contains the intension that a James Bond film should have.

Agent fields looks great. So does Craig. I noticed that he kicks and punches with a suit somewhere. I didn't expect that side of Bond again. That was a real surprise for me. The Aston looks amazing too! The thing that was really missing from that trailer, though was the Bond theme. I prefer it from this tense music!

Agreed. It's only 9 seconds of footage, but it looked more like CASINO ROYALE than any exciting new visual direction. Perhaps the full trailer will change that impression.

Yes, The music used in the 10 second trailer was also used in the 7th TV Spot for Casino Royale, which I supplied the link to.

At this past Tuesday's Saturn Awards, producer Frank Marshall tells IESB that he hopes to be shooting a fourth 'Bourne' movie next Summer for release in 2010.

There's no plans to follow any of the storyline from the fourth book in the series - Eric Van Lustbader's "The Bourne Legacy". They do have plans to set a lot of the action in South America this time though.

Cool. I'd love to see BOURNE 4. It's the only ongoing franchise I'm interested in other than Bond.

Agreed.It's very cool because Frank Marshall didn't seem to have any interest or enthusiasm for continuing after the trilogy was complete so to get B4 by 2010 is great news.I think we're gonna get another Bourne trilogy when it's all said and done.

I saw a difference to Casino Royale personally. I think the general vibe of the film will be more slick and modern despite some of the retro fashions.

The car chase snippet looked more like Ronin than anything in Casino Royale. The overhead shot of a futuristic table in some kind of briefing room didn't look like Casino Royale and the camerawork on the rope fight scene was quite different.

There is more a look of John Woo meets John Frankenheimer about it than Martin Campbell (let's hope there's no slow motion junk in there). However, this is, again, only analysing a few seconds of rapid cut footage and no conclusions can be drawn.
