Maybe MGM has forgotten that there are 9 more films left to release?
They also forgot to release License to Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun in steelbook form.

Sad to day but I doubt we will see these in steelbook. They are typically done by the retailer as a promo to get you to buy the movie at their store. Best Buy had a several month exclusive on these two movies & opted to go with a standard box set instead.Maybe MGM has forgotten that there are 9 more films left to release?

That stinks. I was actually looking at getting those steelbooks after i get a Blu-ray player, but i guess there is no point in getting them now.

Yeah, but since they stopped making them for the new Bond movies coming out on Blu-Ray, they are basically useless, and will stick out like a sore thumb next to the normal packaging. So i guess it's even. They also forgot to release License to Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun in steelbook form.
And they forgot to release them in Britain at all.

I wish they would just release the rest of the first 20 movies, never mind a box set.I wish they would just release a box set of all of the films together. Using individual cases for each title. I would gladly rebuy everything to have the last 9.

Look at this:

Where has the Blu Ray mock up come from? as far as I am aware, those covers are not used for DVD's...
Not reading into at obviously, just found it odd.

Curious. There is also a similar image for The Living Daylights as well.

One point is that the images do say "2 Disc Ultimate Edition" hich suggests a DVD mock up rather than Blu-ray despite the Blu-ray style as Blu-Ray's are all single disc

Weren't they originally planning on having the poster artwork as the cover for each movie, but changed their minds?Must admit, if they used poster artwork (here he goes again, you say), I'd be the first in line, I'd sell what I have, and replace them.

They will probably release the original artwork as the box art in a few years, most likely for the 50 year anniversary of the film series, which will be in 2012.Mad decision though, the original artwork alone is enough to draw anyone in, gives it a real classy feel IMO.

In 2008 all of the films were reissued on DVD in the UK region 2 with new artwork:

As for the LTK lenticular cover, where the hell has that come from? and why was it not done with the other flicks?
Good find.

Great news, but what's with the timing? Sure it's great to SOME new Bond content, but it just seems like they're tossing us a bone, particularly with no Blu-ray mention.
Please don't tell me they are going to pull a George Lucas and tease us by only offering us standard def and then make us wait and wait some more on the Blu-ray.
And I couldn't care less about lenticular packaging. If it's something special I will buy it on standard def, just as I did the CR ultimate edition because that packaging was great and sadly the one thing Blu-ray presentations lack.
