Unless the UE version was uncut, then yes.
Nice catches, zencat! Is this the first time the uncut Licence to Kill has been available in the US?
I was thinking this might be old news. Guess not. Maybe we should break this into it's own thread? "LTK Blu-Ray is uncut version".
All of those new shots were in the UE version of LTK at least over here in the U.S.
Great. Thanks for the post!
I really hope we get a decent sale on LTK and Golden Gun soon. I'm also curious why Target is not carrying LTK.
Hopefully we will also get some news on the next wave soon too.
No, it hasn't been released on Blu-ray yet. Heaven knows what's happening with the British Blu-ray market. Not just Bond, but I can only buy a third of the ROCKY saga, damn it!
There is a Rocky box set coming to the US later in 2009. I believe that the UK should also get it?
Sorry to deviate from the Bond blu ray thread!
I will also throw out that MGM has confused me in not releasing all of the Sergio Leone films in a box set. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly was just released, but not the other 2. 3 if you include Fistful of Dynamite.
Hopefully we will get news on the next wave of Bond films very soon. I was hoping for July or August release date.

* Sanchez whipping his mistress in the pre-title sequence has soundtrack restored to the original level.
* Killifer gun butting the driver during Sanchez's escape is restored to its original level.
* When Leiter gets tortured by Sanchez, his stump is shown.
* The ninja woman's bullet wound is shown.
* Krest's head exploding is shown in full. In the cut version, it showed Krest's head expanding very briefly and then it cuts to Sanchez's reaction while we hear blood splattered on the window. In the uncut version, we see Krest's head fully expand then blood splatters on the window.
* More footage Dario's legs being minced.
* The full version of Sanchez burning at the end is present in the UE i,e he goes down on his knees. Previously, it showed Sanchez burning briefly and then Bond pausing briefly to watch before he runs away.
Now if we can only get the uncut version of Casino Royale

Also, does anybody have a hunch when a mega box containing all the Bonds on Blu-Ray will be released? I keep hoping for a Christmas release, but that's looking unlikely.

Yeah, those restored cuts to "Licence" were in the UE as well. From IMDB, here are the cuts:
* Sanchez whipping his mistress in the pre-title sequence has soundtrack restored to the original level.
* Killifer gun butting the driver during Sanchez's escape is restored to its original level.
* When Leiter gets tortured by Sanchez, his stump is shown.
* The ninja woman's bullet wound is shown.

Just noticed another thing, us Brits don't even have a release date for NSNA yet.
This is so frustrating.
Sorry to continue the bad news:
I'd emailed the distributors a few weeks ago regarding this and they had stated there were no indicators that it would soon be released in the UK.

I haven't picked up Golden Gun and LTK yet, but plan to shortly. I'm trying to work out with Amazon why the pricing is $2 off between LTK and Man With The Golden Gun..

My thought is that double dipping could happen if things like the advent of inexpensive 75-100 GB discs came about and transfers could improve greatly or something like that.

Since they, at least, triple dipped on every previous format (LaserDisc, VHS, & DVD) I'd say the chances are very good.Just wanted to know, what are the chances of double dipping on the Bond Blu-Rays? I figure Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace could go so far as to be triple dipped on, but I mean the first 20 films.

On another forum someone mentioned that The Living Daylights and Octopussy would be the next blu ray releases for Scandinavia and possibly Europe?
I hope the time frame is soon.

Very impressed with this transfer, I heard some mixed reviews when it first came out, but I must say I have no complaints, obviously there is a bit of grain here and there, but it's still a joy to watch.
Just waiting for Moonraker to come down a couple of quid, then I'll be investing.

Thunderball arrived today, picked it up for only £7.95 at Zavvi.co.uk

You won't regret buying MOONRAKER (well, assuming you like the film). Of the Bond Blu-rays I've seen (the others being DR. NO, THUNDERBALL, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, DIE ANOTHER DAY, CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE), MOONRAKER has, I think, the most jawdroppingly awesome picture quality. The THUNDERBALL transfer is, as you say, superb, but MOONRAKER's just a revelation.
It's frustrating that there doesn't seem to be any news on the British Bond Blu-ray front, but in a way I'm glad because all I want to do is endlessly rewatch the ones I already own and luxuriate in those wonderful transfers. To have more at this stage would be too much!

I see Diamonds Are Forever and You Only Live Twice were on the Sci Fi channel here in the US this week. I believe they used the new masters to show them in HD.
Hopefully the next wave of titles and release date will be announced very soon.
I'm wondering if MGM is maybe slowing on releasing the titles a bit? Only 2 last time and no announcement on further titles coming soon???
Many of the James Bond blu ray titles are on sale at Amazon for $19.99.

No sign of them on Amazon from here until Oct. which seems pretty odd considering they were released in US over a month ago.

Anyone know when the next batch of Bond Bluerays are being released in UK?
That, my friend, is the sixty-four thousand doll----, erm, pound question.
Go on a Blu-ray forum and you won't be able to get a word in edgeways for Brits wanting to know when more Bond titles will be released. It's very strange. And bloody frustrating (the lack of an announcement, that is, not people asking questions).

I am wondering if the company doing this work is behind on the work? Or MGM hasn't moved forward with approving additional work yet?
Just had that thought today. It is curious that we haven't heard anything on the next wave yet.

It's a possibility though, they may be quite far behind, but the question is, what are they working on, what film?
We need some inside information chaps.

Anyone else get high hopes, whenever this thread is bumped up
Yup. LOL.
Who else has good spots to watch for blu ray DVD release dates info?
I go to highdefdigest.com and blu-ray.com.
In addition to the next wave, I'm hoping they keep the three packs coming. Releasing this last wave as just two movies (TMWTGG and LTK) doesn't inspire confidence. I know there's been speculation elsewhere that they need to leave a few out and make 6 three packs. I wish they'd just toss CR in one and make 7 though

Here's an update on the reissues of volumes 1-3 on blu ray:
Looks like there isn't an new films coming for a while??
MGM's James Bond Blu-ray Collections: Volumes 1-3 will be re-issued on 9/1 for SRP $69.99 each.

You have to figure if they're reissuing, those sold successfully enough. Which would lend to them continuing to issue sets.

Volumes 1-3 to be reissued in September in US; no word on new releases
