That is a major, major disappointment. Where's the quality control? Thanks for the update Oatesy!
Interesting info about Moonraker. I'm glad to hear that Moonraker is looking good aside from the titles..
Would you be able to post a comparison on the Moonraker titles??
If you have UE DVDs then it is exactly the same master used. The squeezed versus unsqueezed titles comparison an be seen in the special features section under Mission Control '007'
They also squeezed Thunderball, but it is more noticeable with MR and TWINE both because the amount of squeeze is greater and both these title sequence contain globes and circles etc. where the distortion is most evident
Squeezed titles

Unsqueezed titles

Notice the black borders on the side of the image of the squeezed titles, and how the matte around the girl is oval rather than a circle

I was at Best Buy and I saw it there and got it, but I thought these weren't supposed to be out until May 12th?

Has anyone got this James Bond Blu-ray set that has The Man With the Golden Gun, Licence to Kill, and Quantum of Solace?

This is a Best Buy exclusive that allows them to release both The Man with the Golden Gun and Licence to Kill in this set before the general 12 May release date.

Did anyone else notice that on the back of the packaging they list LTK at 1974 and TMWTGG as 1989
Yep. Small slip-up there.

I decided to hold off on NSNA because of the great deal on the two boxes. Besides, Best Buy is retailing NSNA for $29.95 and I saw it at Target for $24.95, so I may pick that up there in the future. Target seems to discount the Bond movies pretty frequently.
The calendar thing looked way cheap at Wal Mart and the Target exclusive book didn't look like much either. I'll save my money unless I see these discounted in the future.

That is priceless. I missed that when I scanned that insert the first time. Must have still been laughing over that "three of 007's finest missions" line.Did anyone else notice that on the back of the packaging they list LTK at 1974 and TMWTGG as 1989
I liked the box that Wal-mart was selling the DVD in. Not a reason in itself to buy the set but I'll be on the lookout for a good sale price down the road. The calendar thing looked way cheap at Wal Mart and the Target exclusive book didn't look like much either. Here are some posted screen shots for LTK and Golden Gun:

It would be great to see some of the other films as well, especially TWINE and Moonraker..

The Best Buy packaging looked nicer in the picture. I thought it would be metal or plastic but it's just a cardboard slipcase. At least all of the movies are in the standard Blu-ray packaging & not some fancy case. The write-up on the back is funny: "three of 007's finest missions."
The first draft of the text, "The new one and two of the old crap ones you don't really want" apparently wasn't too well received.
On another strange Best Buy related note, according to their website, NSNA features "brief nudity" as well as "nudity"

Recycle newspapers and beer bottles. Don't waste water. Don't use a car as much.
But please, please, use all the tools necessary to make a Bond Blu-Ray package awesome, not that dreck. Thank god I'm not getting that box.

Suppose it's an easy way to save a little bit of the production costs. No slipcase? I'm pretty suprised, considering the first 6 Bond releases had them.

It's funny, I've been so into the Craig movies, it really hit me that TWINE was a kinder and gentler Bond film (guess they all were pre-CR). It was kind of nice to have a break from the blood and violence and get back some old fashioned (but somewhat creaky) Bondian storytelling. A pleasant surprise.

Watched TWINE Blu-ray last night. It's been a while and I gotta say, the move went down pretty smooth. I really think Sophie Marceau is terrific. She's beautiful, a great actress, and Electra is a very good character. I really like the idea of a female villain, and she elevates every scene she is in. Surprised at how soft Dench plays M compared to how she plays it now (I prefer now). I also really like the Garbage song. Hearing it brought me back to 1999.

I'm thinking of getting the Blu-ray since TWINE is one of my favorite Bond movies.
zencat, would you recommend the upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray considering the picture and audio quality?
Thanks

Oddly, I didn't really notice a huge difference/improvement. Maybe I'm just getting used to Blu-Ray, or maybe I don't know TWINE well enough to see the difference. Being a newer movie, the transfer has always looked great to me. I did notice the sound on the menu is very bad. Tiny. Could be a flaw. But the movie itself sounded fine.zencat, would you recommend the upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray considering the picture and audio quality?

I don't feel TWINE as old fashioned at all, actually I think CR is much more old fashioned style than any Brosnan movie. It's funny, I've been so into the Craig movies, it really hit me that TWINE was a kinder and gentler Bond film (guess they all were pre-CR). Yeah, I meant more in terms of how the action and violence is portrayed. No blood. Little remorse or consequences. Bond in a suit running through a setpiece and comes out straightening his tie. That kind of thing. And Moneypenny and Q and boinking Dr. Warmflash...guess maybe I meant "old school."I don't feel TWINE as old fashioned at all, actually I think CR is much more old fashioned style than any Brosnan movie. It's funny, I've been so into the Craig movies, it really hit me that TWINE was a kinder and gentler Bond film (guess they all were pre-CR).
