Why not... He's a great actor. He looks a tad too young IMO...
Too young for what? Fleming wasn’t old his entire life y’know.
That's probably why my complete sentence was : "He looks a tad too young IMO, but if it fits the script, I say: Why not?" I'm not a fan of make up to age / de-age actors. Leo Di Caprio is 33 now (and looks rather younger than that, IMO), and Fleming married Anne at 44, if memory serves. What I mean is that I'd rather see DiCaprio playing the "younger Fleming".

The Leo bashing is plain envy. He was awsome in Blood Diamond and not too shaby in The Departed. Good actors can play any role. Ask Daniel Craig.

Goran Visnjic.

Just when we'd gotten over the nightmare of him being associated with Bond...!

Anybody see the striking resemblence of fleming and geoffrey rush? That'l be fine if they stay in his later years i guess, dunno if they wanna show him young...
That would be great.
Rush would be my first choice for the Fleming at the end of his life.
By the way: Rush would also be my first choice for 'Q' if he finds his way back into the EON franchise.

Now on the CBn main page...
Actor's film company comes on board as producer of 'Fleming' screenplay
It should not be them, it should be Eon, who gets first dips on it, and Michael and Barbara on the producer sit and also picking the director and writers to work with. It is only if Eon don't produce it at all then it a free for all who is to. Because they are the one that makes the offical James Bond movies and I would guess have contact with the Flaming people. It just like if there was to be a bio movie on Walt Disney, of course it would be the Disney comapny that get first dips if they want to produce it, and pick the writers, producers and director.

Probably why there hasn't been one...
Eon own the rights to Fleming's books, not his life.

Now, if you click the movie title, the project is categorized as being in development, and it doesn't show up at all at DiCaprio's page. I don't know if any of you knew about this before, but anyway...
1. Is it just an empty rumour?
2. Is it a IMDB data error?
3. Is it just a rumour concerning DiCaprio starring, but there's actually a project to be made?
Well, Ian Fleming's life has already been portrayed on TV, but now that Bond seems to be highly bankable again, with the new movies and the book, is there some big studio executive who thought that a Fleming biopic might do good businness?

Edit: Oh, old topic I see. My mistake. Anyway, deeply interesting if this actually comes to be.

While there were events and people from Fleming's life that appeared in the Bond novels - it wasn't a 100% 1 to 1 correlation.
Implying that is an insult to Fleming's creativity and skill as a writer.
