The V8 Vantage in TLD is dark green?
It's a dark greyish green or brown; I've stood next to the thing enough times and I can still never tell what colour it is!
Hot and new! There's a video on YouTube showing rehearsals with the Aston Martin, with a contraption holding the camera. Nota: I have no sound on my computer, so I've no idea if there is a soundtrack on this clip, and I can't say if there's any spoiler in the soundtrack. Maybe someone else could confirm?

A-ha! Thanks for posting! Looks like that's why the side skirts are off. That's a hell of a contraption- is it getting shots of the bonnet?
If the chase is downhill, on a winding mountain road, then raw horsepower is actually more of an impediment than an aid. Additionally, if Alfa is lighter, and having an engine half the size does suggest that possibility, then, specifically on a very curvy downhill course, it might have the advantage. I offer as an example of what I am thinking of, the Japanese Manga and Anim

But then of course very rarely have previous Bond chase has seen evenly matched cars: Lotus Esprit against a Ford Cortina? DB5 against those big heavy Mercedes? Even the Aston last time was only chasing Jaguar XJs- which are very quick but easily outclassed by an Aston- they had a fair lead on Bond, though, so perhaps that's something we have here.
What car was it in Casino Royale -- the one taking Vesper away? As for the XJS. Is it Shamelady that you mention here? Because, as fun as it is to read this here, this tribute movie that I had the pleasure of directing is not a "real" Bond film.
For those who did not hear of it you can watch it or download it here: http://www.constella...?id_article=377 It is also discussed in another thread on this forum.
The DB5 is featured in Shamelady -- that was a lot of work to get one! -- but of course we coudn't do anything as spectacular as in a real Bond movie or as what seems to be shot in QoS.

XJs - plural. As in 'more than one XJ' Those were the cars which took Vesper in CR. More than one Jaguar XJ.

I thought that it was a green colour, but when I borrowed it some years ago I was told by a local Aston Martin dealer that the colour is actually Cumberland grey.
Great pics, and the youtube clip is excellent. That contraption on top looks like something that should be covered in flowers at a wedding - but the sound of that AM... glorious!

Crazy, innit? Where do they get these paint finishes from? For example, I think most people would agree that the CR DBS was basically silver, but look at these piccies of them filming- it only looks slightly lighter than the QoS ones!
I'm liking how this is shaping up. With the looks of those rigs, it would seem like we're going to have some genuinely dynamic camera angles for this chase sequence. I think this is the scene I'm anticipating the most so far!

Incidentally I've just had a look at this- well done; you've done a really amazing job!
Thanks for the pictures! I love the 159--if they're going to be reasonable, though, there will have to be lots of twisties in the chase. On sheer horsepower, the Aston is tops, but those big AMs are just big GT cars--big, powerful, but not the sharpest handling.
Boy, Q branch did a great job putting it back together after the flip in Casino Royale.
It wasn't rebuilt. That Aston Martin was completely written off; it would have been much cheaper to simply buy another one. Bond was probably issued with it before going after Mr. White (it would have taken some time to work out where he would be with any certainty), or he would have found it at Mr. Wite's villa. Either way, the car wasn't rebuilt. I'm willing to bet it with have a different registration plate in the final film.

That's simply not true- I think you might be thinking of Mustangs and other American GT cars there! Aston Martins handle incredibly well; especially this one- it's positively dripping in carbon fibre; certainly not heavy. The Alfa wouldn't stand a chance, no matter the road. A Mustang, rough though they are, would have the Alfa beaten too.

I have to agree with markt on this point, the DBS would easily out handle a 159 (and outperform it in just about every other category as well).
A short clip from an Italian TV show about QoS, where one can spot the Aston Martin on set at Lago di Garda. The other footage comes from CR or older Bond films.
